If anyone is researching purchasing their Sonos Roam, I recommend getting the 3 year extended warranty Sonos offers.I purchased my Sonos Roam kit (2) in April of ‘23 and used them pretty often when outside enjoying the pool. I hadn’t used them recently during the winter months, but I did notice that my roams would disconnect, but still appear like they were playing. Then one day, nothing. I couldn’t reboot them, and they would constantly show an orange led charge light with no other responses.I contacted support and they said the device batteries were depleated and that I can return them for a 30% off coupon. 😆 You would think at least a 50% coupon would be justifiable here … but 30% it is.Luckily I have a credit card where I could submit a warranty extension replacement that covers an additional +1 year over the manufacturers warranty. Now i’ll be able to use my 30% coupon to purchase another set + the 3 year extension.I hope this new set has a better battery life. But hopefully you

Hello all of you…. I’m not gonna be seriously personal,but i need to give the reader’s some info.I had to “move” over to my 90 yo granny cause of changes in the family-situation. Granny does not hear so good,based on that i brought my Playbase over along with a couple of Ikea BS w/stands and my Sub mini. But granny did not like the Ikea speakers. And i have not any good place to put them.  They are too noticable in Granny’s eyes.Anyway….the speakers i could have been interested to use is one Ikea Symfonisk Lamp and one Ikea BS but this setup is not available. But let’s say both of these speakers got the same drivers/amp this setup could be done. I get it that the inside volume is different,but that is possible with an prosessor read what they are paired with and adjust themself if so.There was allso an member here that wish for a Ikea Flower-lamp and a hanging lamp from the roof. This had been an alternative for us. A pair Sonos Roam/SL could allso been an alternative but they can’t be

I currently listen to my music (ripped from my old CDs) by sending it from iPad or iPhone to my Beam via AirPlay. If I bought an Era 300 and sent the music there instead, would there be a noticeable improvement in quality? Thanks.

HiDisclaimer:The following is not an everyday occurrence just once in a great while 😂This is not a hardware/software solution more aptly it’s a “try-it” to see if corrects the lip sync issue. It more so involves AV cable/stream viewing.After adjusting the Lip Sync in the Sonos app and still no Joy. Stop the AV stream either by turning the TV off or temporarily switching to another stream. I’ve found it fixes the issue 100% of the time when the Sonos app lip sync adjustment doesn’t correct the issue to my liking. I guess it resets the stream so to speak. So give it a try.. you have nothing to lose kind’a 😊 Note:You will most likely miss a portion of the AV Stream unless you can time shift to recover the missed portion. 

Will I lose my current SONOS playlists and have to re-create them if I upgrade to a new SONOS speaker?

I am currently reshuffling my living room and was thinking of switching to Sonos.The initial reason is that I really enjoy the ERA 300 aesthetics, but I can’t figure out a rational configuration to suit my needs.In the same room, I would either :listen to the turntable. I wish to use a 2 speakers stereo configuration. watch tv through a projector (with HDMI arc)A pair of ERA 300 + a beam gen2 does not work, as the ERA would have to be configured as rear channels of the beam, and would not be usable as an entry point for the turntable.Then I thought to a Sonos Amp, able to deal with the turntable and the HDMI, but the Amp is not compatible with ERA 300. Is there any configuration that would make sense for my requirements ?

My play:1 fell and now has a lot of static.any suggestions for DIY repair? my system has a playbar, sub-gen2 and another play:1 for surrounds. What can I purchase to replace the poorly performing play:1?

I have a Sonos Playbar with two Play 1’s in surround mode, tied via optical cable to my Sony TV.  When using the normal feed of Dish TV receiver via my TV, everything audio works just fine.  But when I’m feeding streamed content via the Apple TV, I struggle to get sufficient volume going out of my Sonos surround.  I found at one time, that resetting volume to zero with the Apple TV remote would get things going. Now it seems like the audio signal from the Apple TV is just weak.. and I have to separately crank up the Sonos volume with the TV remote volume control or my Sonos controller.Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Time was I could stream content from my Wolfgang’s Music account through my Sonos system… seems not longer. Anyone know why? David B.

Hi, my wife and I are building a new home and we have to make a decision on prewiring for surround sound.  In our old home I prewired and had a wired Bose surround setup with a receiver. Our new home is open concept.  Considering that, my initial thought is to set up the surround sound using Bluetooth or WiFi.  I don’t want to have to plug in rear channel speakers and I would rather not pay for in wall wiring. I am hoping that there is a rechargeable option   I have no issue with the front channels and sub being wired but again would prefer they not be.  I am hoping that someone who knows more than me can give me some ideas/suggestions  Thanks in advance for any help. 

I have a brother who’s Samsung Galaxy automagically connects to Bluetooth devices without permission or normal manual pairing. Is there a way to disable Bluetooth from the Move so unauthorized users don’t have access?

Is there a remote that is compatible with the Beam Gen2 instead of using the app?  

I have ARC, 2 era 300 and a sub in my sonos system and the arc is connected to Amazon Fire TV e-Arc port. I want to add a microphone to my system so I can use it for karaoke singing and I want the mic sound to output to my sonos system. Is there a workaround for this purpose and without mic delay. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thank you guys!

How high to place my Sonos arc and Sonos sound bar was 300?  In a medium-sized room, I put the television on the wall as well as the sound bar and the speakers.

I originally posted this in another chat here, but it was the wrong area I think. Let's try this here. So, I have a pair of klipsch aw650s, that I put up outside for summer time. Currently they are inside though, with Sonos AMP connected to the TV, sub, and sonos ones. In this room, right now, I have sub, two fives, two ones, and the klipsch speakers. While sub is good for tv, I want something better for music, I am thinking svs pb3000. I would like to sell the fives and sub, they aren't as loud as the klipsch and I like the sound of the klipsch better. With that said, I would like to get a third party amp, a port, and two new inside speakers. The speakers will be hooked up to the tv with AMP, and the new sub. But I want the port and new amp to power the outdoor speakers when they get hung back up outside. Or the inside speakers I don't really care. I have run wiring for an amp to power the speakers outside, through an exterior wall. I am looking for third party stuff, as $700 for AMP

Hi everyone, Looking for some help confirming whether I can achieve a setup that might work well, or not! We recently renovated and I put 4 Sonos ceiling speakers in the open plan kitchen. We have a TV at one end and a corner sofa, and 2 of the 4 ceiling speakers are above and just behind the sofa.  Can I use 2 of the 4 to make up a 5.1 setup with a sub and soundbar with the TV? Would there be any issues or trade offs doing this, if it is possible? Thanks in advance for any guidance! 

I would like to play all the albums of one artist from Apple Music.  I can’t figure out any way to do this in the Sonos Controller on either the Mac or the iPhone.  I can do this via Alexa.  I can do this via the Apple Music app/iTunes via AIrplay.  Why can’t this be done via the Sonos Controller?

I am looking to replace an old analogue hi-fi with a new wireless up-to-date system. I would like to have 3 sets of Era100 speakers across 3 different rooms in the house. I would like to play CDs, records, stream music and connect to the TV. I have been told the Amp only has one line-in so I wouldn’t be able to connect both a CD player and a turntable? Can anyone recommend what I would need to be able to connect everything? Thanks!

I just bought a Sonos Arc and planning to get a sub. and two Sonos one Sls for surround sound system. Iam completely new to Sonos and will appreciate advice. I heard that I cant stream music from my Android phone to the Arc or the SLs..Is that true? Is there a way a round it? Iam not into Iphone and dont want to buy an iphone just to be able to use Sonos. I can purchase the Samsung Q990C this weekend at a good price and Iam wondering if I should go for that and just sell my new, unused Arc?

Hi all!  I’ve had my Sonos playbar and Play 1’s since 2016. I’ve NEVER had problems out of them until recently. I’ve searched high and low for answers and have even been dismissed by customer service (on my first and, subsequently, last call to customer service. My IR sensor wasn’t reacting to my Apple remotes volume changes. Well, I’m happy to tell everyone, I’ve figured it out.  In your Apple TV settings, go to:- Settings > Remotes and Devices > Volume Control > TV via IR Apparently, this changed in a recent Apple TV update and was reset to Auto. This is the fix that worked for me so give it a shot! I really hope the hassle of using the Sonos app for tv volume is no longer an issue for us.  Have an amazing day, everyone!  

I have installed a Beam (G2) and a mini sub as a surround system on my LG TV.I would like to extend the width of the front sound stage so I bought 2 Era 100s to use as Front Left and Right. I found that when setup as satellites with the Beam they will only operate as Rear channels.My room doesn't allow rear channels (physical restraints). Please allow the two Era 100s to operate as front Left and Right to broaden the Beam.

Is it possible to have a home theater setup with two Sonos SLs as the front channel speakers and then two in-ceiling speakers on an Amp as the rear channel speakers? The TV would connect to the Amp via HDMI. If this works, does the Amp need to be connected to Ethernet?

I am not pleased that the Beam does not offer a headphone jack.  I bought a fantastic pair of headphones and plan to use them to listen to music and tv most of the time.  Since the Beam doesn’t have a jack it will likely be replaced by a new more versatile soundbar or I singly will go back to mostly using my A/V receiver.  Probably won’t bother with any other Sonos products in the future.  

Hello,I've been using Sonos for some time around the house but recently decided I’d like to streamline the sound where my DJ setup is. I got 2x Era 300, Sub, and ran it through Port. The idea was that I could get rid of my amp, wires, and bulky speakers. I set it up and it sounds incredible. That is until I tried to mix and learned about the built-in latency. I called support and they recommended getting the line-in adapter and going in directly without Port. That made the situation even worse. The lag is a couple of seconds at least.I’m hoping someone out there has found a solution to the lag...I really don’t want to return all the gear and start again with something else!

Hi everyone,I've encountered a problem that i hope that you can help me with.My TV supports Atmos but after connecting an Apple TV 4k 3rd generation it wont work, in fact on the apple TV menu it doesnt show, theres supposed to be an "Immersive Sound" option.My Beam 2 Generation is connected through the ARC(Not eArc, but as far as i could see it shouldnt matter), apple TV into normal HDMI.My TV is a LG 65sj810v-za. I managed to toggle "Bypass" and i also tried passing both as "auto" and PCM, however nothing seems to work...Dolby Vision and 4k works on the apple tv, i can get it to play 5.1 aswell but as i said, the Apple TV wont recognize it as Atmos. My TV will play atmos when i stream through the tv and not ATV.Does anyone have any suggestions to how i can fix this?
