I just set up a Sonos One with Alexa and the sound is noticeably better than the Amazon Echo. On the Sonos One though, each and every time I call "Alexa" it plays some kind of acknowledgement tone. When I call my Echo or Dot, thankfully there is no such tone. Is there anyway to disable it?

Why do I get random single pulse sounds coming through my speaker?

I’m a long time Sonos owner with 16 units throughout our house. I’m still on S1 since there are a few older units I’m hesitant to replace yet (Port x1, Amp x2, Connect x2, Connect Amp x1, Play:1 x3,  SYMFONISK Shelf x6, SYMFONISK Lamp x1).It seems that each time I assign my SYMFONISK speakers a room name, it works for a few hours and will show up fine, but within a day they rename themselves ‘Speaker’. See attached screenshot. It makes it impossible to know how to target those speakers since there are several with the same ‘Speaker’ room name. The odd thing is that doesn’t seem to impact *all* of the SYMFONISK/Ikea speakers. For example the one I called “Office Speaker” that is a pair seems to remember its room name, but the pair I used to call “Coffee” reverts to ‘Speaker’. All of this was working great until when I recently added the new Port and Amp units into the mix, though I’m not sure if that’s the cause of this or not. Can the Sonos Arc be mounted flush with the bottom of the tv if the top speaker grill is in front of the tv? I am assuming if the speaker grill clears the front of the tv the upfireing speakers should be fine. If not, how low is needed so that Dolby Atmos will sound good. 

I am connecting to my sonos system from the iOS Spotify app. The app and the S1 controller both show that the Spotify app is connected but there is no sound from the speakers. 

Have the sonos arc plugged into the tv using eARC and I’m having an issue with it not responding to volume control from the cable or TV remote. I also have it connected to gen 3 sub and 2 play one SL. If I’m watching tv on my Sony Bravia X850G for a long period of time and need to adjust the volume, it won’t respond. The volume indicator will show on the screen but actual sound won’t increase/decrease. I have to power cycle the tv and wait about 5 min to turn it on for it to be able to control the volume. Is this an issue with my tv or the arc itself? Had the playbar before the arc and it never did this. 

I have a flat at work. Sonos 5. Scholl building. Nor oruter access. I plug in my laptop through the headphone jack. Play spotify, play on the Sonos, Rapid orange flash and nothing… What can I do? 

Hi all,I’ve just got a Beam, and have connected it to the TV via HDMI. All working well, and the app shows I’m sending a Dolby Digital 5.1 signal when the source has one.I’ve added two Symfonisk bookshelf speakers as a rear pair for surround sound. These setup successfully, but then I hear nothing from either speaker.I’ve tried recreating the surround links, checking audio input settings, but nothing seems to make the speakers output sound.Any ideas?

Can i listen to what's playing on sonos in my Samsung S9? I want to send what's playing on sonos into my headphones... 

I have an activity that turns on Sonos Playbase and a Sonos One.The volume controls both, but mute only works on Playbase, which is connected via optical to the TV. Any thoughts on muting?  Goal: Mute both or multiple devices from the Harmony Mute button.

Dear members, Since today I have a Sonos Five (horizontally spreading love in the room). Also activated Tidal hifi a while ago and am a long time Spotify user.  So I tried both music services (since the S2 Sonos now supports “hifi”) to see if the difference is substantial and worth the double monthly fee of Tidal.  In short I have a real hard time hearing any difference (maybe with some of the Master quality songs it’s slightly improved).  Can anyone tell me if there is an actual difference between both sound qualities on a Sonos speaker. I’ve red the “facts” - the lossless support - but I’m not that impressed..  Many thanks for any advice or experiences!

Hi,I already did some research on matching amplifiers and speakers, but there’s a lot of contradicting information on the internet. I hope I can get a more conclusive answer here.I’m looking to buy a Sonos Amp, but I’m not sure if it will be compatible with my speakers. They are very old, from the 70s, KEF Concertos.I know the Amp has 125W/channel at 8 ohms. This is the information I found concerning my speakers:Nominal impedance: 8 ohms Rated max power: 50 watts programme Sensitivity: 9.5w into nominal 8 ohms produces 96db at one metre in anechoic conditions Amplifier requirements: 15-50 watts per channel into 8 ohmsAm I right if I say that the Amp is actually too powerful for my speakers, but it will work and won’t do harm as long as I don’t go past a certain volume percentage? Can I use the Sonos app to limit the volume to let’s say 40% to be sure?Thanks in advance for your help!

IMac with Big Sur OS; Bluetooth Activated & H’phones ‘connected’. Music source used for Sonos is iTunes Library & PlaylistsSonos Bridge; Play-1; Play-3 Simple question - can I use my H’phones to listen to my Music on Sonos (I can do this by listening directly to iTunes i.e through ‘Music’ option on iMac) & if so how do I set this up? Thank you Keith 

Hi everyone,I have a setup that's working wireless flawless for the last few years. For the past year, when listening to TuneIn, it disconnects for 5 seconds and then reconnects. Yesterday, it suddenly just won't play anything from any of my music services.I tried restarting both the speaker and router, reinstalled the app, factory reset the speaker but none helped when playing via wifi.Everything works when connected to LAN and I have successfully followed the instructions on how to switch to a wireless setup. However, once I switch to wireless, it can only play songs on my phone but for the rest, I will just get an error that I lost connection to my music service, unable to add songs to the queue or unable to play music station. Heck, I cannot even send diagnostics when in wireless mode but I was able to when I connected it back to LAN.Diagnostic #1139044574Thanks team!

Hi All,I have Sonos everywhere, but have recently (1 week ago) upgraded my old Playbar to the new Arc soundbar. I am using it with a Gen 1 Sub.It’s connected via the eARC HDMI port to a brand new 2020 LG CX 65” TV, which passes ATMOS with no problem.Now the ….sometimes the Arc seems to ramp its own volume down to zero. It takes a few seconds to do it, and if I turn it back up, it does it again. This will affect all sources (Sky set top box, Amazon Fire box and Xbox Series . The only way to stop it is to pull the power cord and reboot. Then it seems to work fine….for a day or so before exhibiting the same behaviour.Any ideas what is going on? (Edited to say - nobody is using Alexa when this happens)I am also not noticing much in the way of “surround” sound from the Arc. Even using Netflix or Disney+ sources with Dolby Vision and Atmos soundtracks I really don't hear much if anything to the sides or top. I was expecting more…..This leads me to think something is wrong - but the app does

It is known that Trueplay works on the Sonos Amp with 2 Sonance in-ceiling speakers.However, when you connect 4 Sonance speakers in parallel as described in this article, does the Trueplay still work?

I have a Play5 S1, in what I optimistically call my “gym”It was set up with a SUB.  My sub died. A sad day.Since it was still under warranty, I took it to the store, and they gave me a new one (yay).I went home and I added the new SUB. I went to the Gym Play5 and selected “Remove Sub”, it indicates a click, but nothing happens. I cant remove the old dead sub from my Gym Play5.When I go via the SUB, I can add it to any other speaker, just not the GYM one. I have tried many times in different ways. , power cycle, etcHow can I get rid of the old one so.I can add my nice new sub?  

Can I use my phone as a wifi hotspot to connect 2 Move speakers in stereo away from home? Or does my phone also need to be connected to the same wifi, hence I would need a separate hotspot?I understand that  a lot of folks don’t appreciate the benefits of the stereo experience as much as I do, but to me, the great sound coming from my solitary Move speaker over bluetooth is veritably drowned out by the lack of a stereo sound stage. As someone who has traditionally supplied the music, I have fantasies of carrying the joy of my (future) pair of Moves away from my own backyard when hanging with friends in the exotic locations we are wont to haunt. I enjoy my Move to extend the sound from my living room Sonos system throughout my home and yard, but the idea of the best portable speaker I’ve had (in a long long line of them) not being able to do stereo away from home is dismal.Do I now need to go buy a wifi hotspot along with my 2nd Move?

Asking for a feature request to have Sonos volume control by Alexa be able to say a volume number and set it to that instead of the 0-10.  The right spot for listening is too loud at say 20 and too low at 10.  Just be nice to say Alexa set to volume to 18 or 25. 

I got a new Sonos One speaker, set it up at home over the holidays.  Added to my current Sonos system and WIFI network, Alexa and Amazon Music all worked great.Now, tried to bring the Sonos One to Work.  Can’t seem to get it loaded onto my work WIFI.  Are there any easy steps to reconfigure on the same Sonos account for two locations?What happens when I want to move the speaker back home?  Can you have Sonos One setup so it can be moved from Work to Home and recognize both networks or can it only deal with one network? Any help or suggested procedures or YouTube videos would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,I have 24 CONNECT:AMPs wired to a Smart Pro Cisco switch that ran fine for many years after Sonos support helped me program my cisco switch with the necessary STP (Spanning Tree) rules.  We also have several Sonos Subs scattered throughout the house that are NOT wired, hence they rely on the SonosNet.  Our 24 Amps are daisy changed to the cisco switch with a maximum of 4 units per daisy chain connected via ethernet cable to the cisco smart switch.  Again this ran fine since 2013 when I originally set this up and generally we still dont have any issues on Sonos.  I have verified under System | Network that we DO NOT have our regular WIFI credentials registered on the Sonos app.  As such we believe we are 100% using SonosNet and not our home WIFI network to provide signal to the wired subs and communicate with our apple iPhone to control Sonos Rooms.  We have been having issues on our wired and WIFI network and I suspect we may be having broadcast network storms so for this reason I h

We have 4 built in ceiling speakers (non-Sonos) in our basement - they are currently hooked up to a non-Sonos receiver/amp, which is connected to a turntable with a preamp setup.  How would I go about setting up those 4 speakers to Sonos?  I guess I am looking into 2 ideas: Is it possible to feed the current receiver/amp into Sonos so I can play the turntables over the Sonos system? Is it possible to connect the 4 wired speakers into Sonos, so I can play Sonos music to the hardwired legacy speakers?Any ideas are appreciated.  Thanks so much!

My Sonos One is connected and works fine (I can play TuneIn stations, Alexa answers all questions I ask, etc.) but when I ask to play something from Spotify it says “The device is offline”.I tried to deregister and re-register, delete ans re-install the Alexa app and the Sonos app on my phone, but nothing changed.Another voice command that doesn’t work is when I’m playing music (doesn’t matter if it’s from TuneIn or Spotify) is the “Stop” command. My Sonos chimes but the music doesn’t stop.
