I picked up an ‘untested’ CR200 - intending to use it with some old S1 speakers.

Charges and holds its charge well, but the touch screen isn’t functioning, (at least at the bottom) so I am unable to connect it to my network.

Having searched in vain for repair guides etc, I realise this is likely to be a dead end, which is sad because it is in otherwise excellent condition.

My only thought now, would be to see if i could use it for a trade-up, but the Ts and Cs indicate it needs to be connected to a system in order to be eligible.

is there any way I can connect it to my network/speakers, or anything else I could do with it ?

Hi @CraigR65

An “untested” CR200 is unlikely - it sounds like an excuse for selling you something broken. I presume that’s why you put it in quotes and are aware.

If you can’t add it to your system, you can call our sales line to read out the serial number - if the device hasn’t had it’s upgrade voucher redeemed already (it’s likely it has been, before the sale to you), they can assign it to your account.

If you are (somehow) able to repair the touchscreen, it could still be added to your system (if your system uses SonosNet) - even after using the voucher. The Community might have some help for you on this.

Touchscreen failure was the Achilles heel of the CR200, bar far its most common problem.

The opportunity to repair would always be welcome, but this time, I will utilise an old iPhone SE as a bespoke controller.

Good news is, the unit had not been traded up, so I got 30% discount on a Roam ;-)
