Does anyone know if the Sonos One SL can be connected to a Smart TV?

I have 3 Sonos speakers: Kitchen, Great Room (default), and Sunroom. When I start playing music through Google Home it defaults to Great Room. Can I use Google Assistant to turn off/on one of the other speakers? I know that I can do this through the Sonos app but I’d like to be able to do it via voice.

I am running into something very similar to this my problem however is the opposite, the second I connect the speaker to the Ethernet port, it just disappears.  the speaker is still connected to Ethernet and I can see it in my fritzbox 7530 but the Sonos app can’t find it.  i have 5 sonos speakers (symfonisk) they all have the same problem. I recently got rid of my Google Wi-Fi because the fritzbox offers me 4x the performance. I just didn’t think my sonos speakers would stop working. 

Hi AllLong time Sonos user of over 13years…. Nothing has changed in my setup, but I’m experiencing a strange issue where one of my Zones will drop out when playing a radio station over the internet. All other zones continue playing. The Zone will then come back on a couple of minutes later, and a while later a different zone might drop out! As it’s different zones at different times, I’ve ruled out hardware… also a zones use Play 1 and also Sonos Connect, so it’s not even the same hardware each time.  My setup is that I have 5 zones… 3 have Play 1 devices and 2 have Connect devices. 1 of the connect devices is connected via wire to the router, the others are all wireless…. I’m unsure whether they are using their own network created by Sonos, or whether they use my WiFI…. In the old days I don’t think using the house WiFi was an option and now it is.  A zone can play fine for 30 minutes and then drop out for a minute…. the device that last did it is in the same room as a WiFi access poi

Hello everyone,I am new to Sonos and considering Sonos for my home theatre.  I really like the look of the in-wall and/or in-ceiling speakers, but they seem to recommend their home theatre package with the arc, subwoofer and what appears to be two portable speakers.  I am confused on what to do because I want the best possible sound quality but also would prefer to use the Arc/subwoofer with either the in-wall or in-ceiling speakers.  Suggestions please!  Thanks

Hi there, I’ve set up a Sonos Arc and two Ones in my living room with the Ones acting as surround speakers. One of the things I really like about it is when I can have the Ones set to play only ambient audio for music. The instrumentation sounds so distinct that way! The next room over is my master bedroom, where I have a wall-mounted Five. I keep fantasizing about adding two Ones and having them provide ambient audio, as well. Is there any way to achieve what I want, short of replacing the Five with a Beam or an Arc?  Have even toyed with the idea of adding them as a second pair of surrounds to the Living Room theater setup, but of course that would require me to play music in the living room I’m not occupying in order to get the ambient audio flowing in the master bedroom.  Thanks for any advice you can offer!

I recently moved my Sonos system to a new home, and new wifi network.  All products working except for the Connect:Amp which is not recognized by the Sonos controller on my iPhone or iPad.  Tried resetting - got the green light - then the connect:amp shows up as setting up but never gets through the full process.  I then tried connecting to my router over ethernet. Failed. Reset again and this time the controller sees the connect:amp.  Goes through set-up then says needs a software update.  Go through the software update process and looks like I am in business.  Then get a message saying that the connect:amp is not registered.  I attempt to register and that fails. Still shows as connected so I unplug from ethernet.  Reboot the connect:amp and now it does not show up in the controller.  Tried to set up again and the system is not recognizing the connect:amp.  Arggh.  One possibly important note - in the height of frustration I decided to take advantage of the upgrade program and ordere

After looking through Sonos’ forums and other internet corners (AV forums, Reddit), I still haven’t quite confirmed whether or not it would be possible to achieve a 5.1 setup with Sonos using the Arc + 2x Ones + Sub for PC gaming on a LG CX.Some posts hint at this being a possibility, but I’d prefer to confirm that it works before I invest more into Sonos’ ecosystem.Does anyone have this setup and can confirm that for PC gaming specifically, you’re able to get sound out through all of the devices satisfactorily?Bonus question: has anyone replaced their Sonos Sub in this configuration with the Amp + third party (SVS) dedicated sub?Appreciate any confirmation/guidance that you might provide!

Curious if anyone has tried any of the following to charge their Sonos Move. There is no mention of these products working with the Sonos Move in the description or Q&A and I know the Sonos Move is fussy so I was hoping to get someone to confirm which, if any, to purchase: Charger 1Charger 2Charger 3Charger 4 Thanks in advance.

I searched the forum but cannot find an answer. Does the One (SL) have better WiFi/Sonosnet radio or antennas than the older Play1? Will it connect better/stronger to Sonosnet than a Play1 will do? 

Greetings,I have two Sonos-one Gen2 speakers bought from USA. I am able to set up alexa and google assistant on the speakers but the assistants are not able to play songs etc.Google assistant talks back, answers questions, tells the weather etc but it can not play/contol music. I have added You tube music in app and selected it.Youtube music and apple music play fine through the Sonos app, but somehow none of the assistant (alexa/google) is able to search and play songs!Tried changing address to USA etc, nothing changes. Is it intentionallly restricted in countries where Sonos isnt launched officially? Sad Never knew this hassle, would have bought bose instead :-(and due to my poor research I never noticed that these dont have bluetooth connectivity :-( Looking forward to some support!cheers

Is there a clear explanation of the Roam’s power modes anywhere? I have been experimenting with it and am confused by a few things when it is not being charged.Firstly there seem to be two ways of it sleeping: sometimes it sleeps about a minute after being full-on and idle, and other times it stays awake for a long time.Secondly the white light is sometimes on when it is awake, but sometimes the light is not on when it is awake. I can’t tell what the difference between these two modes is, or how it chooses.The red led does seem to be consistently on when charging, so that one I understand.There is also some weirdness with UPnP events during the sleep/re-awake cycle but that probably just needs more poking around on my part.

Hello--I have a home with a 10 year old wired ceiling speaker system with about 7 different zones.  All those zones are connected in the basement to one integrator--all the speaker wires go into that device.  A main screen exists on a 1st floor wall where you can select which source you want to play in any room.  For example, I can select “kitchen” then “ipod” (OMG) or “back deck” and “FM radio”.  There is an AUX based docking station mounted in the wall there for a 1st Gen Ipod.  (I imagine this was very hot in 2010)  Because this system isn’t current, we end up either using FM Radio on it; or just using one of our four Alexa devices to play the music from a source we like (Pandora, Amazon Music, etc).Note: also wired into that integration system is a DVD player, a BlueRay player, and what looks like a Serius/XM receiver--all sources for different zones that have either TVs or just ceiling speakers.How do I use this existing system of wired speaker zones, to upgrade to something that

The Beam works well with the cable box as long as I’m watching shows from a channel offered by the cable company, but once I switch to an app, e.g. Netflix, with my TV remote it continues to play the audio from the cable channel I was watching and I can only hear the app through the TV speaker which sounds horrible compared to the Beam.  How do I get the apps to connect to the Beam? 

Hi All,I have a new Sonos Arc Entertainment set, but couldn’t get Dolby Atmos to pass thru to it.  For example, from Apple TV, proven Dolby Atmos material to Sony XBR-65X850C to HDMI4 (ARC) to Sonos Arc.  Apple TV does not hand shake with Dolby Atmos on Sony.  Digital Dolby 5.1 is OK.questions:Does the Sonos ARC do PCM multi-channels or only compressed Dolby? Does the Sony XBR65x850C pass through Dolby Atmos to Sonos ARC via the HDMI4-ARC?please help if you have experiences in the above.many thanksey

We have a lot of Sonos products, and we have been using Sonos since we bought the first gen Play:5 many years ago. We are really fond of Sonos. Recently we bought a Sonos Roam, and this little box is a real challenge.First it would not connect at all. We ran the usual setup, but after the setup the Roam did not appear anywhere and it just didn’t work at all. We tried all the usual things; turning off and on, resetting, adding again, and more. In the end we called customer service, and after a lot of debugging they found out that something had happened when the Roam was updated. It had not been added correctly to our Sonos account or something strange. The CS representative did some magic, and after a new reset, we were able to set up the Roam from the start again. Everything seemed ok.I left the Roam to charge a little bit, and I moved it to the room it was going to be placed. I wanted to play some music, but again the Roam was gone from the Sonos app. I check my Macbook, but nothing t

I use my Sonos as the default speaker with my Google Nest. Music can be controlled on the Sonos by the Google Nest, no issues. However, the Google Nest feature ‘Lower volume when listening” does not work with my Sonos. This is very annoying as I have to shout Google commands when music is playing on my Sonos speakers. Ive tried re-lnking my Sonos speakers with Google Home, I’ve update the Sonos software to the latest. Is there a fix for this ?

alexa on Sonos start with very low volume after a command is given, for about 6 seconds then goes up to normal volume. Alway missing to hear the first few seconds of what is playing.

A bit of preamble… I own a trio of Sonos One speakers and am considering buying a Sonos Roam.  After a recent move, I found myself with spotty Internet access.  I have a travel router that I use to make my own private WiFi network for my apartment, but it is not connected to the Internet (unless I turn my phone into a mobile hotspot).  Currently, if I want to use my Sonos system in this (admittedly janky) set-up, I need to use my phone as a hotspot - and even then there’s some lag time.Enter the Sonos Roam.  Obviously, I can play music from my phone over the Roam via a bluetooth location.  What I want to know is, can I use the Roam’s Sound Swap feature to play music from my phone onto my entire Sonos system (assuming that my WiFi network is not connected to the Internet)?  Feel free to ask clarifying questions if I botched the description of my jury-rigged WiFi...

Hi All, I’ve just looked at my matrix and can see that the ‘Master Bedroom’ is a weak connection… however the matrix also shows that from the kitchen to the master bedroom the link (if it were chosen) is pretty good. So my question is why is Sonos deciding to link the master bedroom directly to ‘Bridge’ which is a wired device, rather than hopping through kitchen… i.eRather thanBridge → Master Bedroomwould it not be better to chooseBridge → Kitchen → Master Bedroom Any thoughts on the logic? I’m getting the Error “unsupported format” when playing the KALW station today. I don’t have any issues with the other NPR stations. I saw some other threads with it intermittently happening for others (KQED and BBC) but I didn’t find any tips on how to resolve it from the user end. Any thoughts?

I just got the ARC and Gen 3 Sub. The ARC is set up and working fine with my TV. The Sub will not connect to the ARC for the life of me. Using a hard wire connection is not an option. I specifically purchased these units because they can use a wireless setup. I was able to get the sub to connect to the ARC but only for a second. I don’t even know if any bass came out of the sub during that second. My wireless router is right on the other side of the wall from my living room, no more than 10 feet from the ARC and the Sub so signal strength is not an issue. Does anyone know how to make these two work together? Thank you.

I live in a dorm with a shared wifi requiring me to put in both wifi login name and password.Tried to connect Sonos Roam to the Wifi network (the app only asked to put in a password, no place to put in a wifi login name) and it did not work. Please give an advice.
