Does the One SL go to sleep when not in use?  

Inherited a Sonos Playbase, but i don't know how to set it up. Any help is welcome. I do have it working with a Sony TV, but cant seem to get it connected to the wifi. i do have the ability to plug it into ethernet.

Hi.  I have been using my S1 App for quite some time now as the majority of my system is quite old.  However I have recently been gifted a new Roam SL which is S2 compatible only.  Now, I know I can split the system for S1 and S2 systems (and if I have read it correctly, it is really only my Play 5 that won’t work with the new S2 app) and I am happy to set up two systems.  However my question is this.  Can the speakers that I move across to the S2 app (Play 1s, SYMFONISKs, Playbar) also be added back into the S1 app?  IN other words, when I use my Play 5 with my turntable, can I have those S1 compatible speakers on both SONOS systems?

I updated the PC version of the Sonos app yesterday to the latest one.  Immediately, the volume controls are now greyed out and not accessible.  I have four locations, and it’s somewhat random which are greyed out.  Sometimes it’s just one room and sometimes it’s multiple.  My iPhone app is working just fine. What can I do to fix this? Thanks.  

Hello there,Until now, I was using a Google Nest Mini speaker to control my lights and plugs connected to my home.I recently got a Sonos Beam and I set up the google assistant.With the Nest Mini, in the application, when it was located in the same room as the connected plugs and lights, when turning on or off, there was a simple "ding or dong". With the Beam, even if it's in the same room, I still get a confirmation like, "Okay, I turn on the light..."Is there any way WITHOUT GOING THROUGH THE ROUTINES, to have a simple ding / dong?Thanks for your help

Can anyone help with this issue - on Sonos 1, I have installed Alexa and enabled the skills via alexa - but no BBC station will pay after the initial “BBC sounds” announcement…. I have installed……deleted, re enables, … rebooted and disabled and then re enabled the skill but to no avail…… and also……. Alexa won’t play any music at all ……..any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated…….

Hello allI am getting no where with support and wanted to reach out to you. The Sonus Roam turns on and connects to my network. I can always use Alexa and it works well/plays music from spotify.The issue is that it often doesn’t show as an option to connect to within spotify or the Sonus app.  This issue may resolve c10mins into turning on but as you can imagine it is v v irritating.  Before letting the battery discharge and leaving in a cupboard/giving away, I wanted to know if anyone has a fix for this.I currently have the issue on Samsum S21 ultra.Thanks in advance allDaniel 

I am about to purchase a new Samsung television . My current television has a Playbar and a gen. 1 Sub. connected . All are functioning as expected. My questions is: Should I uninstall these two Sonos devices before I connect them to the new television or is the set-up a simple “plug and play” procedure ?Thank you.  Mod Edit: Edited for accuracy - “Playbar” instead of “soundbar”

I use S1, have about 10 zones, have a ‘connect’ hard-wired to the router, and an apple time capsule connected to that ‘connect’. The time capsule produces its own network which I use throughout the house, using apple repeaters connected via the ethernet port. This all works very well (for many years). We have just changed our Internet Provider, so have a new pre-configured router. The router works, we have Internet and, like the previous one, another wi-fi network that reaches only part of the house. The Sonos system can access Internet services and all the zones are as they should be, but I can no longer access music vis Sonos on the external hard drive. I can still access it and play the music from my laptop! When I try to make a second music library (at the same existing location) within S1, the error message is: the computer [] refused to let the Sonos product connect to it. I have tried rebooting all the zones - no effect. I cannot see anything meaningful to change in any menu. Wh

Have new Roam and enabled the Alexa Skill successfully and Alexa commands work beautifully.  Should the Sonos Commands like “Sonos Play Music” still work?

With the last update, the sound on my Port has changed.I use the analog outputs with variable volume control and uses the EQ and loudness and the Port is connected directly to a power amplifier, with large floor speakers.I don't have an Arc or Beam, but to me it sounds like Port now have the same Enhanced Clarity sound profile !I am not satisfied with this because I believe a product like the Port should not add a sound signature to the sound, it should play with a complet neutral sound.I can understand Sonos will have a sound signature on their speakers, but not on the Port.I think it must be a mistake, that this sound change update, has been sent to the Port. 

HelloI have a “home theater” system with an ARC + Sub gen3 + 2 one SL and works perfect.Can I “split” the system and create a new room configuring the 2 one’s as a stereo pair to play music and leave them configured as surrounds speakers when I watch TV?Thank you     

Hi there,I’ve got 9 speakers around the house. A paired set of Play Ones in the kitchen are consistently AWOL when I want to start playing something. I’m looking for suggestions on the next changes I should try.Maybe it’s the speakers, maybe it’s my network config, maybe it’s wifi interference.I’ve had problems in the past with keeping any speakers connected and have tried several configs with varying success. I would like to buy a Sonos Beam (Gen 2) to experience a better audio and the Dolby Atmos experience.The soundbar will be connected through HDMI ARC.Before buying, I would like to understand:1) The compatibility between my TV and the soundbar: are they fully compatible? Will the soundbar turn on automatically when I turn o the tv? Can I control the soundbar using the same TV remote?2) What are the limitations of my TV in audio terms. For this purpose, I attach you a picture found in this forum about the audio characteristics of my TV. Could you please help me to better understand what can I get from the combination of RU8000 with Sonos Beam (Gen 2)?As far I have understood, I can get dolby atmos only from Netflix and Prime. I was looking at upgrading my Play3 using the upgrade programme. I added the device to the programme - but now I have changed my mind and would like to keep my play3. How do I remove this.

I’d like to buy an ARC with Sub and two one sl as surround speaker . Is it possible , when desired, move the surround speaker to a different room and use them to play music , while still using the soundbar as a tv speaker ? Also in doing this would it be possible to use the two One sl independently in different rooms with different music ? Thx, E

Hi there, Randomly, my move stopped playing any music. I can use Alexa to speak with it and see the lights flicker as if it’s responding, but no sound whatsoever. I tried playing through my phone via WiFi; no sound. Tried to connect via the sonos app, unable to connect.  Grateful for any help!

why my rear speakers throw more bass that my sub? my sub is all the way to level 10+...anybody got this issue?

I'm at my wit's end here.Every so often I have to restart my WiFi router. When that happens, both my surrounds (SLs) disconnect from the Sonos group and it takes me literally hours to reconnect them.I had to reset the router today and I've spent the last two hours trying to reconnect the surrounds - as yet I've been unable to do this despite reading every guide available.Why on Earth do they lose connection to the group? That's just basic stuff and, in my view, a fundamental flaw in the Sonos ecosystem.Right now, I want to throw the whole system out the window and buy Samsung's top dog system!Surely it shouldn't be this difficult and stressful? Can anyone give me a simple fix to sort this mess out?

Har i en måned oplevet at nyheder ikke virker via Sonos med Google længere. Når jeg siger “nyheder” til min Sonos one, får jeg beskeden “her er de seneste nyheder fra klokken x:” og så efterfulgt af nyheder. Nu får jeg bare “her er de seneste nyheder fra klokken x, det var det hele indtil videre”, uden at der kommer nogen nyheder. Det virker fint direkte via Google Assistant på fx min telefon, så det må være et problem med Sonos. Nogen bud på en løsning?

Hello, sonos beam does connected via the HDMI arc por to a Samsung tv ue55. Tv does not recognizes the Sonos beam. Tried to set up via the Sonos app and the test is failing. It seems the tv cannot recognize the Sonos beam.  I have connected via the optical connection and it is working, I would prefer to do it via the HDMI arc, any help? thanks in advance 

Is it possible to connect a Beam & Playbar in the same room?

I’ve had my Sonos for years. In the last 6-12 months it seems like all of my devices disconnect for no reason and I need to reset everything to get them connected again. I have a sonos 1 and 5 running 14.19. Currently using an Eero mesh router. Driving me crazy and making me consider getting rid of all of my speakers….

Is there a way to use google assistant or alexa rather than Sonos voice. I only have one option to select a voice assistant and it is Sonos own voice assistant. I want to load alexa up or Google assistant? I used to have Google assistant on my Sonos but wanted to change it over to alexa and now I cant load any other assistant. Any info to get it working again

 I have purchased 2 Sonos One SL speakers, My questions are as follows.1:If I purchase a Sonos Port will I have the ability to connect it to my current sound system amp (connected to CD/DVD and television) and be able to “run” the sound from the old amp thru my new Sonos speakers in addition to “old” speakers currently wired to old amp? Question 2: Will I de able to send streamed music through the “old wired “speakers as well as the new Sonos pair?Thanks for your helpA Sonos Newbie😉
