Audio Return Channel discconnecting from Beam

Recently purchased a Sonos Beam, and it works great, with the one exception.


I have the Beam plugged into the ARC HDMI of my Toshiba TV with Amazon Fire Built In. I didn’t notice it at first, but now I have to go into the settings of my TV and restart the TV after turning it on (I guess in computer terms, waking it from sleep) before the Beam will connect with the ARC output. Unplugging the HDMI, and/or Power Cord from the Beam with no luck.


My current setup is the Beam plugged into the HDMI ARC, and an Apple TV (CEC is on with it) and a PlayStation 4 (CEC is off on this device), plus the Firestick built in.


I would think CEC might have issues from reading other support forums, but on the flip side of that coin, I don’t think it would work with a restart if CEC was the issue.

If you disconnect the Apple TV and PS4 do you have the same issue? If not, connect only the Apple TV and test again. Then connect the PS4 and test again. This will help determine which device is causing the problem.
