Hi there, I was tidying my wiring over the wekend and when I powered up again, Alexa will not respond my Sonos Beam. I checked the settings on my Alexa app and voice is enabled. I deleted and reinstalled both eth Sonos and Alexa app, but still no change. Has anyone got some ideas of what I can try next, thanks in advance (:[b][/b]

Do I need Sonos amp for Sonos outdoor speakers? If so, why?

So I have 3 Amps now that replaced my Russound (whole house audio). The amps are powering 12 speakers throughout my house and they sit next to my Denon AV. I have a connect that I streamed music to my Russound and ran audio output to my Denon for the living speakers. I would like to run an output from my Amp to accomplish the same goal. Is this possible utilizing just the amp? Or do I need to use the connect for that purpose? Thanks for your help. Reese

My Sonos Connect will no longer power on. Tried multiple outlets

Newbie here and new to Sonos products. We moved recently and both home audio and TV setup now different requirements. Looking at whole home audio vs. old-school hardwired speakers in the ceiling, so hairsplitting over Play1 or One. Meantime, for TV setup, at minimum, like to have a Beam, w/ wired headphones, get 2 Play1 or One for rear speakers, no subwoofer needed. Will probably forgo cable/satellite as we don't use many channels. OTA and Firestick4K. Occasional BluRay. Haven't used "Alexa" yet, but like to incorporate at some point. (See SNL's skit "Alexa for Seniors" that's where we are....) Have read the multi-page posts that seems to focus on Beam and BT headphones while using TV sound are not compatible. Wondering if any users have tried a non-BT headphone w/ Beam in use simultaneously? or wired headphones alone when no soundbar/rear speakers desirable? If so, what worked for you? TV is Samsung 4k Smart 2016. Absolutely Must use Headphones. No choices he

I've tried on my Beam, a Sonos One Gen 2 in my kitchen and my Sonos One Gen 2's as surrounds in my living room. None of them will play a broadcast message no matter where it originates from. I've checked for updates, everything is up to date. All of them will send a message but non of them will play any. Otherwise, the GA seems to be working fine. This is quite inconvenient though. Hope there is an update to fix this soon.

I have a Beam connected via ARC to my new LG OLED B8. TV is set to output sound via ARC. Everything is working, Alexa can control the TV etc. and sound is playing in sync through the Beam. However when I change the volume using the LG remote or my Apple TV remote, the volume will change but no volume indicator appears on the TV (when using LG remote small +\- sign will display on the TV but no level, when using Apple TV remote nothing will display). On my old Samsung (same Beam connected via ARC) a volume bar labeled “Beam” would appear showing volume range from 0-100. I did not set this up, it just came up automatically. Is there a way for me to get this same volume bar to appear on the new LG B8?

My tv was working and randomly in the middle of the day, the sound quite working. Called Sonos support and they wanted me to change my optical cable. I changed it and still no sound from the tv. Checked all the settings not sure what else to do. Music does play on the sound bar just no tv coming through.

I have two play 1 speakers and just got a third delivered. I specifically went for this model because I have absolutely [b][i]ZERO[/i][/b] desire to have voice assistants listening throughout my house but when I opened up the latest box I was shocked to see that it is now equipped with google assistant. Can you confirm that there are no microphones in this speaker?

I have had my BEAM for 3 weeks and lately the sound keeps dropping out. Its got so bad that I am returning the Beam

November 1st 2918 SONOS wrote a blog post, postponing the launch of Google assistant on SONOS one and beam to 2019. No date given. The post ender with this: Stay tuned. We look forward to sharing another update in early 2019! We are now well into April and there is still no word on a launch date. Only new commitments at CES that this will launch in 2019. So what is it going to be SONOS? When exactly will you launch Google assistant, that you promised people more than one and a half year ago, when you started selling the one? Please answer this simple question SONOS. You owe that much after all this time of stalling.

Trying countless permutations of commands, it seams that my default HDMI input in the TV has changed. Its not ideal, but for now I switched the HDMI cables and now when I ask alexa to turn on the TV, its on the correct HDMI input setting. The tv is a vizio. Does anyone know how to switch HDMI inputs within the tv via Alexa?

Just Got A playbar to my 2017 lg oled and using my magic Remote the volume adjustment feels kind A slow.. Can i speed the adjustment up somehow?

I try to add sonos to my google home control. I log on correctly to my sonos account and it completes the process. But at the end, the home control does not get added. I check that everything that the system is updated and all my phones are updated as well.

So I’ve been looking at sonos products recently and think the newer amp may be ideal for my situation. Currently I have 4 In-ceiling speakers in my living room which is separated from dining/kitchen by French doors ideally for parties etc id like to play music through the 4 hardwired ceiling speakers as well as two of the sonos play speakers in the dining and kitchen rooms..will this work? one question I can’t seem to find is that is there a limit to how many sonos products I can link together with the amp? Ie. Can I have 4 total sonos play and a sound bar as well as a hardwired sub connected through the amp? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Im very satisfied with the Sonos hardware and wireless streaming technology throughout the house, but the content of what we can play on out speakers is thin. It would be great if Sonos had an AM/FM tuner that could send local radio broadcasts to the speakers around our house. (Think NPR broadcasts from our local public radio stations that aren’t available to stream online.) Yes, I have a connect, but it’s connected to our stereo system. And I f I want to play the radio through the stereo and Sonos there’s a terrible delay. No good. The only solution at this point is a second connect and a dedicated radio tuner.

Hi, I'm looking to move from Amazon Music Unlimited to Deezer as Deezer appears to be the only streaming service that integrates into the Virtual DJ software that I use. I see that Deezer has an Alexa skill. I would rather go for Deezer Hifi than Premium but am mindful that the vast majority of my music streaming requests are made by voice to Alexa via my Sonos Ones and Beam. I have two questions: 1) Will I get FLAC quality when requesting Deezer streams via Alexa or is it only through using the SONOS app? 2) When Google assistant is available via SONOS Ones and Beam will I be able to request FLAC quality Deezer streams using this? I own 2-Play 3 speakers and one Play 5. I also have Alexa. Is there ANY way to use Alexa to control the Sonos speakers I have?

Hi, I have my Sonos System (Playbase, Sub and 2 Play1) up and running using a wired connection. Now, I would like to bring the Speakers on my wifi. I have created a separate SSID, just for Sonos, with the recommendations here from the forum. The playbase comes up and I can play music on the playbase using my phone or tablet or whatever. But the Sub and the 2 Play1 will not join the group. They are connected to the Wifi, but they will not form the group. anything special I need to consider, to get this working as well? BR Florian

Hi everyone I’ve just bought 4 x Sonos One’s and 1 x Beam. I’ve committed to the Sonos ecosystem fairly quickly. My appliances all use Alexa, but I am a staunch Apple and Apple Music fan. I’m trying to set up the Apple Music skill and it won’t link. It seeks to think I’m in another country. I go to the Alexa app > Music > Add Service > Apple Music is NOT displayed (Spotify and something called Deezer are) I add the Apple Music skill from “Skills and Tricks”, I sign in and I’m told it’s not available in my country or region. I’ve spent thousands on products that can’t be returned (store policy in Myer Australia). PLEASE HELP 😭😭😭

I have a playbar 5.1 setup and recently tried to play a movie that was encoded with AAC 5.1 audio. When that didn't work, I found a thread that said that the playbar only will support AC3. My question is: can the Beam play AAC 5.1 or would it be better to re-encode the file to AC3. Thank you!
