I am trying to develop my own app to play audioclips on my Sonos One (Gen1). I was able to generate the token for the authentication and correctly perform all the GET operations (e.g. https://api.ws.sonos.com/control/api/v1/groups/{groupID}/groupVolume) but not POST operations. All the posts return me a 500 Internal Server error without content. I am trying to perform this requests with Postman. Already tried to google my problem but the solutions I found implements a different protocol with node.js. Someone suggested to look for the requests made by the official application with wireshark but apparently it does communicate directly with the speaker (at its local IP address). Does anyone has the same problem?

I am trying to use a CR100 that I've not used for a long time. When I try to connect it to my system, it recognises when I press the two buttons on the nearest player, I goes the the Connecting. Please wait. This can take a few minutes Then This controller was unable to connect to a Sonos component. Please try again (1). I'm wondering if it's an issue with the software being out of date. My other CR100 which has been in use all along works fine. This one's been in the attic for a while. Grateful for any ideas! Thanks Patrick

I am sure its not meant to work this way but my issue is that my TV has to be turned on for my system to work. Optical Out from TV to Sonos Play bar HDMI Out from Apple TV to TV HDMI1 Airplay music from iPhone to Apple TV and TV needs to be turned on for Sound Bar to function. Really??? Thanks in advance if anyone out there sees my mistake and can suggest a solution where I dont have to turn my TV on. Thanks DG

I spent part of the day with the installer then a couple more hours on the phone with Sonos support. Still can't get ny new Playable + Amp x2 provisioned properly. Here's my simplified network topography: Internet ==> Arris BGW-210-700 ==> Cisco RV130 (gateway) ==> Cisco 3560cg (core switch) ==> Netgear GS108 ==> Playbase / Amp 1 / Amp 2 (wired connection) All of the Sonos gear lives in VLAN101, 192.168.20.0/23. The Netgear is wired into port 2 on the 3560cg. Also, off the Cisco RV130 is this path... ==> Linksys LGS 116P ==> Cisco WLC 3504 The WLC3504 broadcasts an SSID on the same VLAN101, Apple iOS clients will join that SSID to setup & then control the Sonos gear. After countless attempts to get the gear setup, both with each wired to the Netgear GS108 and each joined the SSID on VLAN101, I had no success. Sonos device based diagnostics informed us that multicast traffic is not being transmitted at all or at least properly. The Sonos device do obtain

So i'm about to purchase a system and was curious on the best way to optimize my set up affordably. What i'm wanting is a soundbar for the inside (living room) and 2 outdoor speakers for my patio; all obviously linked to my tv. Thoughts: Can I purchase a beam for inside (medium sized room) which connects to my amp (along with tv), and have an outdoor speaker pair connect to the amp as well? Just want to connect the 3 speakers in easiest way possible. I haven't purchased anything yet. I also have a PS4 i'd like to link up somehow as well.. Any thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated!

How do i get the microphone to activate. when i connected alexa on my sonos one speaker the microphone light came on.but when doing it on the beam there is no light or alexa.

Hello, I was wondering i want to set up a playbar with 2 play 1's do i need to also purchase a bridge or boost?

So, I keep most of my speakers in one group. For this example, let's say "Living Room, Kitchen, Bedroom". Since Alexa integration started, I've been able to name any of the speakers in the group, and it'll do that action for the group. For instance "Alexa, stop the living room" stops all three but leaves them grouped. "Alexa, Play Metallica on the Kitchen" Plays Metallica on all three (as long as they had already been grouped). In the last week or so, this has changed. Now when I name a speaker, actions happen ONLY to that speaker. So in the example above "Alexa stop the living room", it separates Living room from the group, and stops it. This means that the other two are still playing. Same thing if I use Alexa to start music. If the speaker I ask it to start on is in a group, it removes it from the group and starts it on just that one speaker. This is super annoying, and really defeats the reason I use Sonos in the first place. Does anyone know why this behavior has

Is there any way to switch back to listening to the tv after listening to music without your phone? If someone asks Alexa to play music, then wants to watch tv, you have to go find your phone to switch it back to TV. Doesn’t seem smart.

Hi, I have a stero pair of play 1’s in my bedroom but one of them keeps disconnecting? They were both connected wirelessly so I connected the one that disconnects with a wired connection through a home plug and Ethernet cable which worked after switching the speaker off and on again but it disconnected again. Any help would be nice, diagnostic code is 809052905.

I've had the Sonos One for a couple of weeks and it was working fine up until yesterday. The music plays fine through sonos app but is not playing correctly through the speaker upon command. For example, if I ask Alexa "to play Lithium on SiriusXM" she responds "Lithium from SiriusXM playing on Office" but then nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Hi, I’m a long time user of Sonos with a One, Play:1 and Play:3 at home. However, we moved house to a bigger house with a decent sized garden, and now the nice weather is here and we’ve started to sit in the garden I am finding an issue with my phone being too far from the router so having poor connectivity to WiFi which means the phone cannot control Sonos. I have a Sub, two Play 1s, and Playbar for my main living room TV. The TV sits on a media console and I sit directly in front of that, about 12 feet. The Sub sits next to the media console, with the Playbar in front of the TV and the two Play 1s on either side of the Playbar. I know the two Play 1s should be on either side of me by the couch, but I have no where to put them unless I mount them into the wall on either side of my couch, which I don't really do. My question - am I losing a lot here leaving the Play 1s where they are, next to the Playbar. Also, how do I know with certainty that I am getting Dolby Digital - when I check Advanced Settings it does day Dolby Digital - but what does that even mean in terms of watching content? I have a 4k Apple TV hooked up and set the sound on that to Dolby Digital. It is very confusing whether I should invest in a HDMI switch to achieve X. I have a Sony 65" X900E. Thanks!

Greetings, first time poster. I thought I had a simple solution to the lack of a headphone connection in my Sonos setup. And I was not interested in spending money on a Connect if I didn't need to. [b]Why not, I thought, have an optical audio switch in line before the signal goes to the Playbase?[/b] So the audio connection would be from TV into the switch, and the switch would have two optical audio outs. One would feed the Playbase, and the other could go to my AV receiver (which is no longer the main source of output now that I have my surround setup)(a Playbase, a pair of Play:3's and a Sub. The AV receiver is perfectly fine, just unused) With a switch in line, I could choose only the output I wanted. My plan works great by manually unplugging from the Playbase, and then plugging into my AV receiver. I plug my headphones in to the AV unit, and I get my desired effect: headphone sound for me, and no output from the surround to wake up my wife. When I want to switch back to

Is there a way to reboot speakers besides unplugging? You used to be able to go to their IP and reboot from there but that was disabled. I have issues from time to time (individual speakers cutting out) and think a reboot would help from past conversations with tech support, but cannot do that now. Unplugging is not reasonable given where some of my speakers are located.

Hello everyone, I would like connect my Optoma HD27e projector + Apple TV with Sonos One's. The reason why I do ask this question is that due to some problems (no idea why it is happening), I am not able to stream all the sound from Apple TV via Airplay to Sonos. Some apps do work nicely, some apps send the audio to HDMI only and there is no way to make them play via Airplay. So my imaginery plan is to let Apple TV play everything to HDMI (projector) and connect the audio from the projector to Sonos. Just to make it sure, I do not plan to buy now or in the near future the beam, so I am looking for a solution clearly to Sonos One. What I would like to do is to connect projector to Sonos Connect and then to stream the sound to Sonos One. Is this solution feasible? If not, would that be possible with Sonos Amp? If so, will there be any audio delay? Thanks for all the advices!

Hi, If you have been following the lawsuit between SONOS and Denon related to the HEOS line of Denon products, you are probably aware that SONOS won two major court victories recently. The result so far has been that Denon has removed certain functionality from their App. Not surprising, Denon is instructing their customer service people to tell the public that certain functions were removed from the App due to 'market research'. This removal impacts me because years ago, it would seem I bet on the wrong horse. When I was setting up my house for whole home audio I went with HEOS rather than SONOS for one simple reason, I believe the HEOS speakers sound more in line what my use and taste in music. The SONOS line is setup more for treble and vocals whereas the HEOS line is setup more for raw volume and heavier bass. The HEOS App was always crap but worked most of the time, now it is kinda useless and is making it difficult to use the speakers. I find myself in the predicament

Hi all I'm considering investing in a Sonos system, but have a few question before I invest in the bucks. 1. I have an Xbox One X (4K), Apple TV (4K) and Nintendo Switch (and maybe a Wii U as well). All HDMI connections. I'm using a receiver at the moment to accommodate the number of inputs. The receiver isn't 'Works with Songs' compatible. If I plan to buy a Beam, what's the best way to connect? HDMI splitter? It needs to feed through 4K and 3D. 2. I would then like to get some satellite speakers. Is there any difference with Play One and Play:1, apart from Alexa/Google Assistant? Is it worth getting two Play:5 (space isn't huge). 3. What's the 'fill' in a room from a Play:1 or One? Do I 'need' to get two for a standard sized bedroom? Or perhaps even a Play:5 4. Similar question... If I have an open planned kitchen/living room in an apartment area, do I need another speaker, say a Play:5 in somewhere to fill the open space? Or Can I use the surround theatre setup (as above) to

The volume is always louder for television commercials and it's annoying when I'm watching something with infrequent bass and then there is a commercial with a lot of perpetual bass. Can Sonos create a feature to automatically detect commercials and temporarily lower/mute the volume? I live in a condo and my neighbors know when my sub is on. When I'm watching a quite movie, stand up comedy or sports I like to keep my sub on and get intricate rounded lows — this generally doesn't bother my neighbors. Enter intense commercial with music in the backgound — this definitely bothers my neighbors. This feature can fit neatly under the TV Setup tab :)

Hello, I have a set of Play 1s and I intend to add a subwoofer. I have some cds that I cannot get on Apple Music that I would like to play. Is the Sonos Connect the only way to connect a CD player?

Currently I have a Playbar, sub, 2 play 1s in the room. I really don’t have anywhere to put the play 1’s except for a stand behind the couch which would not be ideal with 3 kids running around all the time. I thought about hanging them in the wall but it would look odd with the way the house is built. Then I thought about buying a Sonos beam and hanging it right behind the couch above an entryway which would look more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. So it brings me to my question. Would it be as effective as having 2 1’s behind me? A best buy employee "sold" my wife a Play:1 and told her it would work with her phone but the only way to use it is through the sonos app but that gives errors so I set it up for all of the music on her phone but now the music constantly skips the songs partly through the song. I read that the Sonos one works directly with airplay. My question is can a sonos one be paired with a play:1. If not I was sold a useless brick.

I just let Sonos update on my two desktops. The option to rename a speaker in Settings has disappeared. I do not own a mobile device. Can I still rename speakers from the PCs?
