i have 2 amp which are each connected to 4 in-ceiling speakers in 2 different rooms and I love having music as I move from room to room. I would also like to enjoy the same music on a separate floor, without installing ‘in ceiling’ speakers. Is there a way to do this?
Can someone tell me in plain english step by step how to connect to the music stored on a Sony Walkman with Sonos Roam? In other words I want to play the music stored on the hard disk of the Walkman?
Recently, one of my Roams has stopped playing music when grouped with a Play 1 or Sonos Five. Up until now, it has worked pretty much flawlessly. The Sonos app will show the Roam is in the same group as the other speaker, but no sound is coming out. I have tried grouping and un-grouping speakers in different order, starting with the Roam and then adding Play 1 or starting with Play 1 and then adding Roam. The app will show the group, but no sound out of the Roam. Interestingly enough, I can use the Sonos Voice Control to start and stop music on the Play 1 or Five.I use an Orbi RBR 750 and have the 2.4 GHz channel set to 6. I also have a Sonos Boost and my Orbi app shows that my speakers, except the portable ones, are on SonosNet. The Roamand Move are on the Orbi WiFi. I have done a factory reset the Roam and still have the same problem when I try and group the speakers. This has been very frustrating. I have a second, newer Roam that does not stay connected to my network at all. I
Hey all, I recently acquired a Sonos Roam speaker that I want to share between my smartphone (iPhone 14) and my wife's smartphone (iPhone 13).The 2 smartphones are up to date as far as iOS is concerned. The Sonos application is installed on the iPhone 14 to install the device and control it. When I want to stream music in AirPlay 2 from the iPhone 14, it works fine. When I want to do the same thing from iPhone 13, I get the message "unable to connect to Sonos Roam". The most surprising thing is that the error message is immediate, as if there were a setting on the iPhone that forbade AirPlay 2!!!! What's the problem??? As for the Bluetooth connection, it works perfectly on both iPhones. It even seems to me that the Bluetooth connection is more stable than the one with AirPlay 2!When the AirPlay connection is lost, the Sonos Roam is unable to recover it. You have to switch it off, then on again, and re-establish the connection from the iPhone. Many thanks,
I have a Sonos Move that is no longer playing any audio that is sent to it. It shows up on the network and if I stream music to it, it will show as if it is playing but no audio comes out.If I do any troubleshooting steps (ie. reboot router, reset Move to factory settings), it will work but will ultimately revert back to having the same issue. This issue started a couple of weeks ago so think it might be related to 14.6 update but no way of knowing for certain.I also have Beam on my network and both play fine.Is anyone having the same issue or can anyone recommend steps to fix (beyond what I have already done)?Thank you!
Hello, I have a video projector (Optoma UHD38) connected by an HDMI cable to my internet box (Freebox Revolution). I would like to be able to broadcast the sound coming from the video projector directly to the Sonos Move 2. Do you know if this is possible? Is there a solution using the bluetooth option on the Sonos Move 2 by chance? I am open to all types of configurations and solutions that would allow me to do this. Thank you in advance for your help Nicolas. PS : and below a rear view of my Optoma UHD38
Hello,As the title says, my Roam takes much longer to auto power down vs my Roam SL. Mic is enabled on the Roam.Is this a bug ? Wifi power save & battery saver both enabled for the stereo pair.I’d much rather they power down at the same time as the roam runs out of battery much quicker than the Roam SL.Thanks in advance.
My Move would not update. It’s on the S2 version and out of the blue it quit working. Per the directions in the app, I tried to downgrade to S1 to apply the update hoping I could then add it back to the S2 version - that also gave me an error that the unit could not be downgraded. I had given up on the unit assuming it was just not going to update. THEN, weeks later, when I was checking some security setting in my Orbi app, I saw that the Sonos Move was showing as “blocked.” After unblocking it, the update worked. I don’t know how or why it ended up as blocked in the Orbi system. Anyway, I hope this helps someone else.
Originally, after working for a couple years, suddenly my Roam couldn’t connect to any stations. If I grouped it with other players, it worked fine. Ungrouped and it can’t connect on its own. So, I rebooted it (turned off by pressing power button for 5 seconds removed from charger). That didn’t work. So I figured I’d remove it and add the device back in. I did a Reset to factory settings. Then as I added the Roam back to my system, it made it thru all the steps (WiFi included) except the final one of Linking device to my account. That’s where it fails now, every time. When I login to Sonos.com, I see the Roam device (by serial number) in the list of my devices. I now wonder if there’s a bug where it can’t link to my account because it’s already there. Frustrating. Anyone else been thru this?
I have many Sonos products including the Move and the Move ring charger. Just noticed the lights blinking red while sitting in the charger. Tried to plug it in and gives me the orange blinking I'm charging lights. The app says, "battery depleted." Please help!I'm afraid this thing is dead.
Hey folks,I've got a Sonos Roam and I'm bumping into an issue. To connect it to Airplay, I have to go through the whole process of resetting the device. But here's the kicker: the very next day, that dreaded "unable to connect to Sonos Roam" message pops up again. Got any solutions before I think about making the switch to a HomePod?I’ve already tried everything on these posts: https://www.airplayguru.com/sonos-airplay-not-working Many thanks!
What products can you pair with the move 2? Any subs?
I am not sure if anyone has the same problem. I purchased my Move in the UK while i was living there and recently moved to New York. I am reading lots of post of the Move being incompatible with 5gHz routers from verizon. Interestingly though, I was able to set it up. Worked just fine, playing music and everything. My issue is with the google assistant. I’ve tried resetting the Move and adding the google assistant again, however, when I give commands, it’s saying that the speaker is not available. I can control the Move just fine with the app either from my ipad or my phone but would love to have that flexibility again of having to speak to it via google assistant. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Surely this is not to be expected? My Move will no longer charge. Anyone else?
I have a new router so I need to change my Sonos with the new network name and password. I try the Sonos app to connect to the Sonos device, assume it is through Bluetooth but can not find device. My Sonos works through wireless but to try to connect I connect the Sonos and the new router . Doing this the Sonos works but I want it to work wirelessly. Still connected I go into settings to look for WiFi setup but asks me to login but when I try it says incorrect even after changing password. The app mentions an email account that's starts with an s and the asterisks, I know nothing about this account.I have done this before when I had a new router and can't remember having problems. If I go back to my old router it works ok Thanks I
Se accoppio due move 2 e uno di loro è collegato tramite line in alla tv, il suono esce da entrambi gli speaker....????? Grazie
Has anyone experienced a solid red status light (to0 led) and flashing red battery light (bottom led)?I have read the info pertaining to what colour means what but the combination above is not covered, I have tried soft and hard resets to no avail. The speaker will not ‘reboot’ or enter into set up mode. I will connect it to power to see if the battery has run so low that it has upset the delicate piece of electronics. This is the second time I have had a strange combination of lights and tech support talked me through some troubleshooting not on the website although I am not sure 100% that they knew what the issue was and it was resolved by coincidence and trial and error. Has anyone else had this issue? The lights are definitely red. Not orange. Could be a hardware fault? Is the unit faulty. Not been happy with the speaker’s reliability in all. Sounds great but is problematic in connecting to multiple phones using simple Bluetooth. What must us be so complicated!
I am trying to connect my Sonos One SL speakers to a guest network away from my home that has no password. The app won’t let me connect to the network without a password, however. Is there a fix for this?
My Sonos move speaker doesn’t appear to be charging. There is no white light bar on. The only white light on top is the speaker symbol. How can I get my speaker back up and running.
I have a Sonos Roam that just stopped working. I bought it in April, 2022 so it is about a year and a half old.Symptoms:Over the past weeks, it has not charged fully on the charging pad. I know it is the Roam and not the pad because I have two Roams and two pads. Swapped them and the other Roam did not have a problem charging. It would charge to 100% if I plugged into the USB-C port. Two days ago, it was dead. Not charging on the pad. When I plug power into the USB port, the red charging light stays on continuously. Actually for over 24 hours at this point. Pressing the button on the back of the speaker does nothing. It doesn’t turn on. It does not try to connect to blue tooth. It has no effect on the red charging light.I’m guessing the battery died and am wondering if there is a fix-it kit much like with the Move. Before I try to take it apart I figured I should talk to the experts…cheers, dan
Hi,I have a new roam speaker. But i think there is a problem with it.Every time the USB-C mains power is connected, First the bottom LED flashes red, then the top LED flashes white slowly, after a few minutes this LED lights up continuously. Then the device is visible in the system for connection, but you can't get any further than connecting and an update is needed, but every time an error message is displayed. Error 1008.That's problem 1Problem 2 is the doubt about the operation of the on/off button on the back. The device has been connected to the mains for more than 24 hours, so the battery should be charged. But without a connection via USB-C to the mains voltage, I can't get anything out of the device. Normally you could switch your device on and off via this button, but nothing happens. Even if I don't hold anything for a long time, ....So I'm at a loss.
I was told by support just yesterday the new Sonos Move 2 cannot “remember” 2 different Sonos systems/networks. I find that hard to believe on a product called “Move”. Can you confirm? Scenario:Unboxed my new Move 2 and added it to the system in my main residence no problem. Packed it up for a trip to the beach house WITHOUT the charging base. Mistake? Shouldn’t be, but when I get to the 2nd house there is no obvious way to add the new Move 2 that was added to my other system. I have numerous products in both locations - does no one else take the portables around this way? So now, based on what support indicated, I’ll have to literally factory reset every time I transport this “portable” speaker from A to B. AND - I’ll have to take the charging base to factory reset. Really? Could really use a better way or another option if it exists. Thanks all.
Is it possible to use the Sonos app to trigger a Sonos Move to enter BLE pairing mode instead of pushing the physical pairing button on the back?
Hi all, one question please…At the moment I have 1 ERA 300 and Beam 2. Given that I don't have the possibility of using 2 ERA 300s as surround because I don't have power sockets behind the sofa, so I was thinking of buying 2 MOVE2s.Can they be used as surround sound?thanks a lot.Michele
Hi guys, Just wondering if the Sonos Roam can work both on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wifi network?, I tried it on the 2.4 GHz and it’s working, then I transitioned to the 5 GHz and it’s not working. Any better alternatives or can it also work if you set up a Mobile hotspot on your device? I can also use a Wifi device, (Samsung) Galaxy 5G Mobile Wi-Fi SCR01 specifically if outdoors, would that work?
