Hi thereI’ve recently bought the SONOS Arc with a couple of ONE SLs for the rear. Although there’s much to love, I’m a little disappointed by the separation on the front L & R channels. To the point where I’ve started to consider an AVR with separate speakers.I can sometimes hear the separation, but was expecting more. I’m trying to work out if that is a limitation of it only being 50inches and not truely separated. I’ve never owned a proper 5.1 so maybe there isn’t as much separation as I expect.On a similar note, I watched Jack Ryan on Prime and the app reports Atmos, but it doesn’t sound much if all different to the usual 5.1.Does anyone else find this? That’s the only atmos content I’ve been able to find - (I have disney+ but only through my Samsung Q60t and apparently the disney app doesn’t support Atmos through this TV)Is there a sound file I can use to test each speaker? The other thing I though is whether it’s because I don’t have the TV very loud, and when using Trueplay t

I’ve had my Beam for several months, and it had been working flawlessly….until 4/3/20. Now I cannot get it to stay connected to my tv. I’ve tried factory resets on both the Beam and the television, I’ve tried different cables, and I’ve even tried running the sound through the supplied digital audio dongle. I can get the Beam to connect to the tv, but as soon as I plug in the other HDMI cables (one for my FIreStick, and the other for my PS4 Pro), sound disappears, until I unplug the HDMI ARC cable from the back of the tv, and sound comes from the tv speaker. The Beam itself sounds fine and will play streamed music; it just no longer stays connected to the tv unless nothing else is plugged in. Also worth noting: initially, it was connected through my FireStick, because it controls our entire system, minus the PS4. But, now I cannot even get the Beam to connect to the FireStick. I’m unsure whether this is a Samsung tv issue, a Beam issue, or a FireStick issue. 

Hello everybody,I am thinking about getting the Sonos Arc. I do have an old Vinyl Player from the 80ies with only analog audio, which so far I am using with an old Creative 5.1 System thru the headphone jack. Is there any possibility to connect that ancient piece of history to the Arc? 

Hi, I’m trying to connect my built in (non-sonos) ceiling and wall speakers to my existing Sonos Playbar and Sub in my living room.I’ve purchased a Denon AVR-X6500H AV Receiver that supports multiple zones (I need multiple zones).I’ve purchased a Sonos Port.I’ve setup Port on my iOS app and it asked me which room, I selected the main room that was already setup, it created a duplicate of the room and numbered it #2. In the app under the device in Family Room #2, it shows the Line-In as “Disconnected” even though I have the RCA cables setup per below diagram. I have not connected the wires for the prewired built in house speakers to the AV receiver yet. Waiting on the wires to arrive in the mail. However, I should be able to use the Sonos speakers for now, no?I’m not receiving any audio at all but I see video. What am I missing that needs to be corrected?Here’s my wiring diagram as of this moment:

I need some help I have the following hardware..LG - 65" Class NanoCell 90 Series LED 4K UHD Smart webOS TVSonos ArcApple TV 4k I have the sonos in the earc hdmi (3) slowApple TV in Hdmi (2) Any content from the tv directly I am getting an atmos signal. I am not getting any 4k content from the Apple TV 4k Please help!

Just got a Sonos Beam. Connected it to a Sony Bravia TV using HDMI ARC and set up Bravia Sync. Audio is playing great. The TV remote, Apple TV remote, etc can control the Beam volume just fine. However, I’ve noticed that lately the TV is doing what I might call a “hard power down” after sleeping, but only after having slept for some time. By hard power down I mean that next time I try to turn the TV on by waking a Bravia Sync device (like the Apple TV), the TV won’t turn on like it did before the Beam was added. And when the TV does turn on (which requires using the TV remote), it shows the Sony logo, the Android logo, the four rotating color block animations, etc and takes a minute or so to load. My hunch is that the Beam is somehow sending a CEC power down signal to the TV, and the TV is interpreting it as a hard power down.  This only happens after the TV is off for an extended amount of time (an hour or two).   Any ideas?

HiI have the Sonos 1 system.I have been using the sonos Playbar which I work via an Amazon Fire TV stick connected to the TV.I have replaced the Fire TV stick with a Mecool KM3 Android TV box.All works fine apart from volume controls.I can only get the Fire TV remote to control the volume on the sound bar.I have removed the Fire stick from the TV and removed the batteries from the remote but the KM3will not adjust the playbar volume.When the batteries are replaced the Fire stick remote works with the soundbar volume.At a bit of a loss how to fix this.Any help appreciated.

I’m trying to connect my Playbar, which is connected to my TV via an optical cable, with my In-Ceiling Speakers (which are connected to the AMP, which is connected to ethernet). The Playbar is not connected to ethernet.I’ve tried setting up/connecting the Amp as “surrounds” in the app. They connect, but then sound either 1. Doesn’t play at all or 2. only comes from the Playbar. Are these compatible? Am I missing something? 

I have in my living room Sonos Playbase, Sonos Sub and 2 Ikea as surround speakers. When I play with sonos app to livingroom randomly my sub and surrounds stop playing. The will resume play after a while, randomly or not or after I pause and start music again in app. Also very frequently whole setup will cut last 10 sec of every song. I’ve changing 2.4g channel, I have connect playbase with ethernet, did factory reset, removed from alexa and from homekit, test it - same. Even now I’ve grouped living room with two other Play 5 in other room, and again the same, no sum, no surrounds, cutting the end. Wifi hotspot within 10m, Internet 940 Mbps/100 Mbps.One more thing, when playpase is streaming from TV, I don’t recall this issue.This is diagnostic the number: 561759515  

We have an Arc connected to an LG CX and we experience occasional intermittent sound (regardless of encoding) that requires us to turn off the TV to fix.  We have the latest LG CX and Sonos software.  We are using eArc.

I am on my second Samsung tv (replacement q95t) and the following letter to CEO’s of both companies should explain. Hi got my arc Wednesday connected it to tv through hdmi arc port turned on sky q all was fine until I wanted to watch a film on Netflix or Disney + app through sky, there sound when watching trailers but no sound once I select a film to watch, any help would be much appreciated 

As the title says … has anyone had any luck getting Dolby Atmos Digital plus working?  I assume that even with Atmos DD+ You would get the Atmos symbol on the TV screen in the S2 app?  I have yet to see that symbol in the S2 app. my set up.. OLED B8 [this does not have eARC] apple TV 4K plugged in to HDMI ARC att uverse plugged into HDMI sonos arc plugged into optical from what I have read in general (not B8 specific) optical can only do 5.1 and hdmi ARC can do DD+.  I have tried the sonos arc in both, but the optical seems to sound better.  And even in the settings you have the option for Dolby Atmos when output to internal+optical. I have tried downloading the Atmos video samples from Dolby website, putting on USB… although they sound good, still no Dolby Atmos indication on the app..   I believe this is a TV limitation, but wondering if any success from other B8 owners?    thanks

I have been playing some Dolby Atmos content via iTunes Movies (Apple TV) on an LG C9. I get all the notifications Atmos is playing. I think it sounds incredible and really good at placing sound left to right but I have yet to hear anything from above.What are my expectations from sound bouncing from above? I cannot distinguish anything from above even when watching scenes known for their great height Atmos effects.I am wondering if there is any set distance from the TV required, and what are people’s experiences with the height of Atmos? Should I be hearing sound from above because at the moment it all sounds around my head height coming forward from the bar.

Hi, I received my sonos arc and I am trying to connect it to an LG OLED65CXPUA.To do so I connected the to hdmi 2 on the LG since that is the eArc port.  The when I select hdmi arc on the LG, I don't see the options to select pass through and eArc as I am supposed.Also, and you tell me how to test the sonos to ensure it is outputting dolby atmos and how to tune it?

Sonos Arc owners are starting to receive the first shipments of the Arcana device from HD Fury. Most of these people are Sonos Arc owners who have older TVs without an eARC connection or a TV that can’t pass through Dolby Digital Plus or Dolby Atmos audio. I’m happy to report that the Arcana works! I own a 2013 Panasonic plasma with an HDMI ARC connection and I can now get Dolby TrueHD/Dolby Atmos audio from my Panasonic UHD Blu-ray player and Dolby Digital Plus/Dolby Atmos audio from my Roku Ultra with the Arcana device.I’ll be happy to share my full setup if anyone is interested.The Arcana is shipping now:https://hdfury.com/product/4k-arcana-18gbps/

Hi, it’s probably allready asked before but I couldn’t find an answer that solved my problem.I have a Samsung the Frame 2020 TV connected with a Sonos Beam and 2x One SL. The beam is connected to the tv through the ARC port with the provided HDMI cable.The beam keeps connecting/disconnecting to the TV. When I watch tv it reconnects every 30 seconds, which causes the sound to jump from tv speakers to Sonos and back several times a minute. I tried changing cables, reconnecting the setup, readded the beam to my netwerk but this doesn’t solve the problem. Sometimes it goes well for an evening but then next day it happens again. Anybody with advice or tips that I can try ? Thanks !

Will a Sonos Beam lose its Trueplay settings after a power cut?TIA   Modified in accordance with the community guidelines.

Now with the newly released Chromecast with Google TV I can get  Dolby Atmos.  So far I've tested with Netflix and Amazon Prime.  For some reason I couldn't get the to work on Disney+ even though the shows had the Atmos badge.  Thought I'd spread the word for this that may be wondering.

I have a beam. Set up fine. Audio great. Bought a pair of One SL speakers for surround. Set up. Sound is great and coming out of all three speakers with my music.  But...when we watch TV, movies, etc, no sound comes out of the surround speakers.  How do I get TV sound also through the Ones for surround?  Thanks in advance!

Hello, I’m searched the forum, and found similar threads, but all are old and closed now. I'm curious if anyone ever found a solution.  What I'm experiencing is that when I'm watching TV, the audio on my Playbase starts to cut in and out. If I unplug the playbase, the audio goes back to normal and works fine... However the following day the audio on the playbase starts to cut in and out again. And if I unplug/plug it again, it starts to work just fine again, until the following afternoon... this has been happening for the past 2 weeks.  Curious to hear if anyone has managed to solve this issue. Thanks!

I'm using Verizon cable. Does the output from that go into hdmi 2 of my LG TV? Then does the arc plug into my hdmi 1 [arc] of the tv?

Every single morning at 6AM on the dot, my Sonos Beam will turn on my LG TV and Roku. I know it’s the Sonos because I tried combinations of disconnecting devices from my network, and the problem is resolved when I disconnect it. So there’s some kind of signal being sent via wifi causing it to wake up, but I couldn’t find any such signals by monitoring traffic to the Beam. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

I have a Sony Android TV (KD65A8G) and I can’t maintain a connection to my Arc soundbar after a couple of months of perfect operation. It did seem to coincide with a Sonos app update (may be pure coincidence). The TV keeps reverting back to its internal speakers due to a connection failure. I can still play music through the Arc from my phone, and the on-screen pattern/graphics appear on the TV during music playback (doesn’t seem to be an HDMI cable fault). When I reset the TV settings the Arc system appears for a few seconds on the TV as being active then disappears again as the TV reverts back to internal speakers. I’ve tried reinstalling the Sonos system and reseting all of the TV options including a full factory reset. Has anyone else experienced similar as this is driving me crazy!
