I have seen this question asked several times, but nothing seems to fix my specific issue. I have been using the Sonos Beam with Subwoofer, but I recently decided to add the Sonos Amp to power my two in ceiling rear speakers. I attached the speaker wire to the Sonos AMP and confirmed the TV runs sound through the speakers using an HDMI. I then factory reset all 3 (Beam, Sub and AMP) so that I could add all 3 to the new Sonos 2 App. All were successfully added to the App and are combined in the same room on the App. I have the Amp setup in Home Theater mode in the App. I have an HDMI cable running from the TV (Arc input) to the Beam. The sub is connected via WiFi. Both work just as they did before adding the Amp. I have a CAT5 cable running from the Beam to the Amp. I can’t get sound out of the rear speakers. I feel like I’m really close, just can’t the sound to come out of the speakers. Any ideas on what I missed?
I have an AMP, it is making a buzzing noise when it is in line-in, it gets louder when I turn up the volume. I changed to 5 different RCA cables. I changed to 6 different sources (PC, Laptop, Phone, CD Player, DVD Player and Turntable). I changed compression. I connected to a power conditioner. I think there is something wrong with my AMP line in?
I had to update my network password where one would think I’d be promoted for the new password and the Sonos app would be smart enough to “figure it out”. Wrong, had to plug a speaker into the network, got it running quickly so one would think we’re all set. WRONG again, unplugged it to place it back where it came from and then it states the network can’t be found. Seriously? What’s the issue here, who can assist? Bordering on tossing this entire system (8 devices) and going with another solution - as my title states I’m losing my patience as this system should NOT be so finicky.
I am new to having a Sonos system. I have a Beam and a pair of One SL’s. I originally set up the pair of SL’s as a stereo pair. I decided I want to instead have them as surrounds with the Beam. When I go to do this (after first separating the pair), the setup never completes. An error message states it can’t be competed. After I move on from the error message the SL’s do show up in the group with my Beam though. However, there is no sound from either SL when I play TV sound or stream music. I have tried removing the surrounds and trying again several times with no success. When I go back to setting them up as a pair again just to get some use out of them, that works fine. Any ideas on what might be preventing this surround setup process from completing? They are all wirelessly connected to a WIFI extender. Thanks in advance for any advice or solutions.

Have a Playbase, had no issues with it and it suddenly won’t connect to WiFi anymore. I’ve submitted a diagnostic. The number is: 1172428177
I have 13 speakers and was using Smartthings Classic app to control remotely. I turn on music from work for the dogs. Now with the new smartthings app I have lost connection to all my speakers. I think it is due to Sonus running on 2.4 and smartthings hub plugged it to router running 5. Any ideas or thoughts? Smartthings does not find the speakers.
I’m trying to add a connect amp as surround speakers, with Amp as main speakers - but when getting error message ‘two compatible Sonos speakers are required’. There is no option to add the connect amp. Using Sonos 2 app
I have just upgraded from Ubuntu 19.10 to 20.04 on my server that contains all my music and SONOS was unable to find my samaba share. After almost a whole morning of trying to figure it out I checked out the release notes for 20.04 (which I should have done in the first place) only to find that the new version of samba used explicitly disables SMBv1. SONOS only supports SMBv1. After some more trawling of the net I found that adding the following line to the /etc/samba/smb.conf file, in the [global] section; server min protocol = NT1 and restarting samba with the following command; sudo systemctl restart smbd.service my server started talking SMBv1 and SONOS could connect. I hope this will save someone the time I wasted to fix the issue Jim!
Merci
Access denied on Apple Music . Was chatting with support and they could NOT figure it out so the rep just disconnected the chat. Frustrating when you spend the money and get little support
Siriusxm stopped loading on sonos app. Have been using well over a year. Yes, my subscription on Sirius is up to date. I deleted SiriusXM app and reloaded. Says my credentials are incorrect and they are not. Any suggestions??
Hi, I have two Sonos One and A Sonos One SL which ago worked together (fairly) happily with the Virgin SH3 router. Iv added a Symfonisk book shelf speaker and now have to reboot the router EVERY time for the Sonos app to recognise any speaker. Any suggestions on solutions!? Cheers
I have been trying for four hours (FOUR) to update my sonos system. I am on terrible and slow internet (throttled verizon mifi/wifi hotspot) and the Sonos update system seems like it was designed for high-bandwidth connections only. I am so frustrated with the software -- and by extension -- the hardware because of this issue. My internal-only wifi is rock solid (mesh network with like 6 eero devices). It’s only the connection to the internet that’s bad. It seems to me (I have been a technical manager in software) that the update package should be a one-time download, then the rest of the work of deploying the internet could happen on LAN, but the update process seems very fragile and seems like it needs regular upload/download connectivity to the internet. Sonos really needs to investigate why an update that the app says should take 2-3 minutes is for me taking hours and hours and multiple retries. What’s worse, none of my speakers are usable right now because the update keeps failing
Approx once a week my system loses contact with my wi-Fi.all other components on wi-Fi work ok iPad etc.Virgin wi-Fi is connected, wired, to my beam as it is closest unit to router.fed up with turning router off and on, after WiFi has reset Sonos system then resets and is fine till the next time.any ideas. Thanks
Hello new to the forum. I have a Samsung TV Xfinity X1 system and the new XR15v2 remote. If I press MUTE the play bar mutes but does not stay muted. If I hold the MUTE button down it will MUTE but only because an accessibility dialog box pulls up? Comcast had not advice. The App Mute feature works fine so not a play problem unless the commands are wrong for the xfinity remote? Steven

So, using Connect for a while works great. Then occasional thumping started coming through my amp, and blew the woofers on my beloved Definitive Tech speakers. Isolated the problem, with new components, and it’s definitely the Connect causing the thumping - after it’s on for an hour or so, rhythmic loud thumping every 30 seconds or so. Running Sonos2, Spotify, all wireless, up to newish iMac / Samsung S10, running through a PrimaLuna tube amp.
Seen this issue multiple times now, and it seems like it is on the Sonos Side of the house. I use an 2nd Gen Alexa to control my 5 speaker (via the auxiliary input). Occasionnally (several times / week) the music audio simply stops. The Alexa is still responding but you cannot hear her responses and you cannot hear the music that is playing. There is an easy fix that I’ve found, in unplugging the auxiliary input from the Sonos, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in. When I unplug from the Alexa side, the music starts to play via the Alexa (so it was playing all along). When you unplug from the Sonos and plug back in, it typically starts to play again. Once I had to power cycle the Sonos to get the music started again. I’ve seen this issue streaming both from Amazon Music and also Sirius XM Streaming (not sure that it matters, but as a point of reference). The 5 is an excellent speaker and I love the volume of music and tone, absolutely love the purchase and experience. Thank
I’ve read a few posts about Playbase dropping off the network; mine is out of warranty now and I’ve done all the usual reset etc… seems this is a common issue. My solution was simply to buy: Vonets Wireless Mini Bridge dongle, WiFi Bridge Cable Convert RJ45 Ethernet Port to Wireless/WiFi Dongle Cost £15 GBP, worked a treat; no need to take the Sono to bits or the hassle of sending for fix. Hope that helps anyone else with the same problem.
Hi: Im getting an error when trying to play music from the Sonos S1 app or even from the Amazon Music app, the message i got its something like:“The’re an error establishing conection to ****.cloudfront.net”
I am using Sonos at home and in my office - when I go from one network to another, the previous network’s speakers are showing for many minutes, until the list is refreshed. This wasn’t an issue a few months ago - I do this switch every work day, and now it has become a problem. I can’t find a way to force a refresh of devices. Very annoying - Even if I have been on the network for a good while (hours), and open the app, the list is still showing the devices from my previous network.
