Amazon Alexa and Sonos

Yesterday I made these stupid idea to remove alexa from all of my devices and de- register them and remove them from my Amazon account. I did this because I was struggling getting alexa “dot” devices to work alongside the system like they used to. I figured I would try to troubleshoot it myself and get myself in a hole.Now I am trying to re-add all of my speakers, and only the Sonos beam and one of my Sonos‘s “one” speakers re-added alexa to them. The rest, including “move”, “arc”, other play “one”s will not add alexa.I enter into the Sonos app and click on “arc” for example, and it will be non-clickable and will say “alexa already added“. Alexa is not working on this device and it does not voice prompt. I know other users have had the same problem, but I have not seen a solution. Anyone have a solution to this? i’ll call Sonos later, but I’m not going to be home for a while so I can’t mess with the system. 

Had to change my Amazon password a couple of days ago and now there is no Alexa. microphone is off on my Beams and unable to be turned back on either manually or via the app have uninstalled and reinstalled both the Sonos and Alexa apps have made sure both Beams are online.  They both still work (ie can play music through them via phone) but Alexa tells me they are offline Have disabled and enabled the sonos skill on Alexa app multiple times have updated the Alexa app have tried deregistering one of the Beams (but can’t work out how to re-register it as Alexa can’t find it) can’t delete Alexa as a voice assistant as it is not an option - i can see it is listed as ‘already added’ but am unable to delete it.  No option to add any other voice assistants (some have suggested Google) as not given as an option.  Only has Sonos Voice Control and AlexaThis has taken up an unforgiveable amount of time. Judging by the forums there are a lot of issues around this.  Anyone have any other suggestio

My Sonos One has Alexa voice control. If I ask for let’s say, “Play radio 5 live” I get a response in a few words that it will happen but nothing further. Does that make sense? I must be missing something but what? Any ideas? Thanks, John (aka Grierson)

Just tried uninstalling Amazon shopping app and then Amazon voice control works.

When playing BBC stations via Alexa on my Era 100 it now doesn’t respond to the stop voice command only via the top button. It also sometimes won’t start a radio station at all via an Alexa voice command. This has started over the last week. Other than the bellowing voice confirmations it worked fine before. 

Alexa is not available in my country in sonos what to do? It used to work now no response

My Sonos beam works though the app and always used to work with Alexa but since the last update, Alexa cant play music. Alexa answers my questions perfectly well and finds music on Amazon but then is totally silent. I say “Alexa play Virgin Radio” and Alexa responds saying “playing Virgin Radio from News Broadcasting” and then its toy=tally silent! Same with any radio station or Amazon Music.Any ideas, anyone?

Anyone else having Alexa issues after the firmware update to 16.3.3 (build 80156190)? I can’t get Alexa to stream music from any of my voice controlled speakers. I am having to use the app to start the music.

No me deja configurar Alexa. El soporte técnico de Sonos no sabe derme una solución. Adjunto captura. 

I have setup my roam 2 and have been unable to get it to link to the alexa account. I have tried ensuring address is up to date and correct. Remove both programs and re-add with no luck. It just spins like it it trying to add. Also have disabled skill and re-add.Note Sonos voice will setup just fine, but want to use the system I already have throughout the house.I let it sit for even 15 minutes with no change. Any help is greatful. 

Had some issues with our speakers/system. Reset everything and.now I can’t get my symfonisk bookshelf speakers in the kids rooms to work with their echo dots. The Alexa app says the speakers are not compatible and cannot play all audio.  They had previously worked perfectly. Any one else run into this?

Hi, whenever I request that Alexa play song through my Sonos system, it will play through the 2 One SL‘s set up as a speaker pair, but not through the sub. They are all paired as a system through the Sonos app. If I Airplay or use the Sonos app it works as intended but only when I request through Alexa does the sub not play. The 2 One SL’s play as the stereo pair but nothing comes from the sub. What could it be??

I recently changed broadband provider, since when the voice control on my Sonos 1 does not fully respond to commands. Eg if I ask it, via Alexa, to play Radio 4 is says ' playing Radio 4' but nothing happens. Advice please 

Hi All, Just got my first Sonos device (Era 300) and I'm pulling my hair out trying to add Alexa as a voice assistant. Every time I select 'connect to amazon', it just spins and spins and never loads the next page! Help please?! Thanks

Hello,When I ask Alexa for the current weather via my Sonos speaker, I always get the message that she is not aware of where I live, but I can save it as an address.A unique address is stored in the Amazon account that I use for the smart speaker. Do I need the Alexa app here or is the error somewhere else?

Since last update I've started to have problems with the alexa part (never worked much, but ok) I've decided then to remove the assistant from my beam, un-installed the app from the phone. Then I've started all the configuration from scratch. All is OK but I cannot install alexa (ok with the Sonos assistant and with Google)  Is there some way to fix it and install back alexa? 🤔 

Hi folks,I’m experiencing issues related to the volume of Alexa since the Sonos update to 12.1. I’m using a surround setup with one Sonos Beam and two Sonos Play:1 in my living room. Since a few years, the Alexa response volume was just static and not related to the music volume set by Sonos. This was a good thing because you could listen to music in very low volume while you could talk to Alexa and get a normal, relatively loud response.Since 12.1, the Alexa volume seems to be related to the overall speaker volume. Now when the volume is set maybe between 1-20%, it is just impossible for me to communicate with Alexa because her responses are extremely quiet. I can only start to understand her again when the volume slider is maybe at 25-30% or higher, but then of course the music is also proportional louder, which is not good.Is there any way to set the Alexa volume independent of the music volume?Thank you very much in advance.

Alexa was working fine, for some reason we factory reset the Sonos one (dont ask me why) and now I cant get alexa to work. I dont have either alexa app or amazon app on my phone, and when I click “sign in” it just immediately says there was an issue and I can try again or cancel. Extremely frustrating 

The Ring Doorbell announces on the Roam & Roam 2 and Alexa enabled TV but I cannot get the announcement on the Sonos One. I have reset the SONOS One and ensured that it’s connected to the associated Alexa account. Has anyone experienced the same or similar issue and resolved it. If so how did you?

I have 3 era 300 grouped, all is fine until one degroup itself after some days, I dont know why. Is there any way with any app or alexa or any other system that I can group all them together again automaticaly? 

Tengo SONOS, ALEXA y SPOTIFY. Hice de todo, durante varios meses: quité los SKILLS de spotify, de alexa, etc., deshabilité los parlantes del sistema y volví a habilitarlos, cambié la red WIFI (usé 2,4 y 5, solo una de las dos), eliminé las APP de estos sistemes en mis devices y volví a instalarlas. En algún momento me decía que había restricción geográfica. En fin, la solución que hoy (25/08/2024) me funcionó a mi: deshabilité la Skill de SONOS en ALEXA… al querer habilitarla de nuevo, me dijo que no podía por restricción geográfica (¿en Colombia?)… así que me fui a SONOS y allí, en cada parlante, volví a habilitar ALEXA…. ¡¡¡¡SE SOLUCIONÓ!!!!!… un año frustrantes con mis parlantes de SONOS sin ALEXA y hoy lo logré… Ojalá les sirva. My Sonos is listening and responding to my requests but not actioning them. I say “Alexa play Spotify” it then responds “playing Spotify” but then doesn’t play Spotify. It does this with all requests and I can now only control it via my mobile.  This has happened since I rebooted it to reconnect it to my new iPhone. I have tried rebooting the Sonos, restarting the internet, removing and re adding voice control. Nothing… Can’t get through to the helpline as it’s a 40 minute wait. Someone please help. 

When my Sonos Beam volume is set a comfortable level for watching tv and I ask Alexa a question, the volume of her response is too low. I am unable to hear the answer.  If I raise the volume of the Fire Cube it doesn’t change the volume on the Beam. If I raise the volume of the Beam I can hear her response, BUT the volume is WAY too loud to watch tv..
