Hello everyone,

I bought the Sonos Era 300, I follow all the instructions regarding the connection with Alexa but I cannot use it. I have a message that the Device is offline. Some settings may not be available.

I tested everything with no results. Multiple reconfigurations, re-enables of skills, changing location (the current is Greece) .

Do you have any suggestions?

I don’t see Greece listed in https://support.sonos.com/en/article/amazon-alexa-availability-on-sonos

If it doesn’t affect anything else, have you tried e.g. having your Sonos web profile address in the US and also the Alexa account in the US? (I was able to get it working like that in Sonos when Alexa wasn’t officially supported where I live).

Some other things mentioned that might help with Alexa have been: disabling and re-enabling the skill in the Alexa app, removing Amazon Shopping app from the mobile etc.

Thanks a lot for your response.

With US location I was able to enable Alexa voice.

Now I try to connect with a Yamaha soundbar, but I cannot.

When I open the Sonos Era 300 it has the previous message

When I choose multispeaker the Sonos is missing

It looks like that they cannot operate together

Has anyone faced any similar issue?

When an Alexa device is shown as offline, it means that it isn’t connected to the Amazon servers.  Can you power off the Era 300 for a few mins and retry.

The current status of my devices is that I can play from Alexa with Sonos ERA 300 speaker but I cannot use as a multispeaker. The alexa show only the Yamaha soundbar.

I cannot understand why the 1st screen shows the Sonos Era 300 speaker as Online but the I click to the device itself it has the 2nd photo that it is offline….

Also does anyone knows the difference of the image Sonos Era 300 with the imnage (Circle with Wifi) Michalis’s Sonos Era 300?

The Yamaha icon should look like the 300 icon.  It should look like a speaker.  Don’t know anything about how to activate Alexa voice control on a Yamaha.

I am not sure that the issue is on the Yamaha device.

When I choose the multispeaker setup the Yamaha speaker is there, the Sonos is missing

What about the screenshot of the Living room group setup screen that shows a checkmark next to the 300 and the Yamaha is grayed out.  Looks like the 300 ready to work via Alexa.  It’s not likely you will be able to group the 300 with the Yamaha.  I can’t group Sonos with Echo.  I can group WiiM with Echo.

So, even though there is a checkmark on the 300 in the Living room group setup screen, the 300 still does not work via Alexa??

@MoPac thanks a lot for your help!

Your question is reasonable but my aswer is complex….😄

When I tick on of them the other is not available...

Sounds like they can’t be grouped.  Doesn’t surprise me.  Will the 300 work on its own?  Will the Yamaha work on its own?

Sonos devices can’t include other manufacturers devices for grouped synchronised play.

Edot:  Corrected typo! changed can to can’t!

Sonos devices can include other manufacturers devices for grouped synchronised play.

 Not Echo devices.

Lol @MoPac Ahh, you spotted my typo! 🤣🤣🤣

Ahhhh… I see now.  Typos happen.

One exception though for a connection with Echo devices.  WiiM will group with Echo.  My whole house at this time.  Maybe expand in the future.
