Hello! I have my Sonos move 2 connected to the Amazon Alexa app. Whenever I check the device page on Alexa it shows it’s connected on the love 2 speaker however when I click on that speaker in the app it says it’s offline in red. Anyone have this issue?

Does the Move 2 speaker in the Alexa app look like this?  Does the icon look like a speaker?

Yes

Yes it does

My Move speakers show the same red “Offline” message, but the Moves respond to Alexa commands just fine.  Guess that screen is meaningless.

Yes that’s what mine is showing, I can speak to it as Alexa however it will only respond to my Alexa related questions but will not follow through with playing music or anything of that sort.

Mine does play music.  I don’t use voice control that often, but I was able to activate Alexa Voice last night and ask her to play a Spotify playlist which she was kind enough to do.

I may just be out of luck or I may be doing something wrong.

Can you stream music from the Sonos and the individual Alexa devices at the same time? I know you can just with the alexas

Sonos cannot be grouped with Echo devices.  WiiM does work that way.  Time for a party.

So there is no way to play music on the Sonos and Alexa’s all while they are connected together? Isn’t that what’s advertised by sonos?

I’ve never read that Sonos can be grouped with Echo devices.  It certainly doesn’t work here.  I am able to get Sonos work to work with Alexa commands to play music.  Don’t really do that very often.

When we are eating dinner I use the Den system ( stereo Echo Gen 4 pair with Echo Sub ) to play my Spotify Jazz playlist.  That’s usually the only time I use voice control.

In the Alexa app the Sonos & Spotify skills are activated and in Settings - Music & Podcasts   Spotify is the default service.

The term “group” has different meanings depending on context.

You cannot group a an Echo with a Sonos speaker, meaning they cannot be playing the same thing together.

However, you can create a group of Alexa devices into which you can place both Echo and Sonos devices. The Sonos are listed as speakers.  So when you tell Alexa to play music, it plays on the Sonos devices.  And if the Sonos devices in the Alexa group are grouped together via the Sonos app, then all speakers in the Sonos group play.  (At least that’s how it worked until everything broke a couple weeks ago.  Now the Alexa skill is no longer compatible with Sonos.  C’mon Sonos, get this fixed now!)

Yes you can ask an Echo to play music through a Sonos speaker, but I have never been able to have my Echo speakers and Sonos speakers play the same music at the same time.  If you know how to do that please let me know.  At this point I can only pull off that trick with Echo & WiiM as shown in my Party Time group in the earlier post.

This Alexa app screenshot is of the Party Time group on the Edit screen where you can add new speakers to the group.  As you can see there are no Sonos speakers showing.  They cannot be added to this group.
