I have Alexa Echo and Connect:AMP ceiling speakers  in the same room, which can play music to the ceiling speaker,  but it stopped working,  I have tried to

  1. disable the Sonos Skill
  2. remove the speakers from the alexa app
  3. uninstall amazon shopping app
  4. re-enable the sonos skill
  5. add the speakers back

on alexa devices page the speakers shows and with “online” (no green dot) under it, but once clicked on the device, i got “Device offline , Some settings may not be available”

when i play music on Echo, select play on devices,  the speakers are grayed out

Tried the above steps several times, just can't get it working again .  Any advice would be highly appreciated!

This could be caused by network issues, please see my post here.

Thanks, but I reserve IPs based on MAC addresses inside my network, and connect:amp is wired to the router.

Okay, it was worth a try. 😁  If you open the Sonos App and select the cog wheel>manage>Voice Assistants>Amazon Alexa is your Connect Amp shown as Enabled? If yes, then please power down the Connect Amp for 2-3 mins and allow to reboot, if No, please select ‘Add to another product’

The old Connect Amp won't be able to add voice assistants on the Sonos App,  I could only add them on Alex app through the sonos skills.

the set up had been working perfectly for years ,  without changing anything now I can ask alexa to play music through voice command and by default the music is back on the speakers again.

but  1 . on the alexa app ,  when i tried to select play on devices,  those speakers are still grayed out though;  2. on the devices list, when i click the speaker,  “Device offline . some settings may not be available” message still on the top.

Same issue here, i can ask alexa to play music through the sonos speakers but on the alexa app i can’t manage the speakers or see what’s playing manually. Everything looks fine on the Sonos app side and all connected to the same wifi. It’s weird that alexa had no trouble to find my two sonos speakers but then after connecting they show as “offline” even though they work, as i mentioned 🤔
