Hoping I can get some help here… I have a pair of Sonos One SLs paired together as part of a wired Sonos setup; my Sonos Play:One is wired to my router. Everything works great… EXCEPT AirPlay to these speakers when they’re paired.What happens is at some point, the speakers both go silent after anywhere between a minute to an hour. The streaming app on my iPhone X (usually Apple Music) indicates that it’s still streaming, I can use the controls to play/pause playback, I see the scrub bar moving, songs are still advancing through the playlist, etc. but there’s no audio! I can even pause (silent) playback using the touch controls on top of the Sonos speakers which is registered by my iPhone, although I cannot restart playback. The only way for me to get audio back is to disconnect AirPlay from the speakers then reconnect to them, but the problem eventually (and usually quickly) returns.This ONLY happens when the speakers are paired. I just updated my house WIFI with Asus RT-AX86U, with AC88U & AC66U_B1 as Aimesh nodes with ethernet backhaul. I followed every other topic about FW version, Airtime Fairness, QoS, etc, but still my Sonos equipment (a Play5 Gen 2, a Play1, 2 One SL, and a Beam) are not able to function (random disconnections, no control over the S2 app, etc.

Just subscribed to Free Trial, so 30 days remain for this to work out or then it gets cancelled. I get ads - infuriating, on all stations, and I can’t skip tracks so maybe I don’t really have HD sound either.Read some threads, re-booted all Sonos components, just upgraded to S2, in the app it says Free Subscription activated.  What’s up with that?H

Hello all! Has anyone experience alexa wouldn’t change the volume on the Beam  regardless of what volume commands you give it and its always “device is at volume 6” manually changing the volume by tv remote and the touch control it still works as normal. For example if i decrease the volume on the touch controls , the volume does decrease and when asking alexa what the volume is, it would be still at 6.   

Hi! I am designing a new cinema / sport room set-up as part of a major renovation. I have a 65” LG OLED being recess / flush mounted above a 100cm bioethanol fire. I have rear ceiling speakers and a sub to connect as well. My question is - Sonos Arc surface mounted below the TV OR in wall hidden speakers below the TV? I am worried that a surface mounted Arc will look stuck on the wall and ruin the design. Recessed amp powered speakers will look smarter, but will they give good sound quality?  Thanks! 

We have Apple Music Family Sharing.  My husband added his Apple account and my son added his account.  However, when I try to add my account it will not allow me to.  It allows me to add Apple Music but then for the log in, it is for my husband’s account and won’t let me sign in.  It is the same result if I try to add Apple Music to Sonos on my phone or my Mac.  I have no problems with directly using Apple Music on my Mac or phone.  In other words, I can use my own Apple Music account.   In trying to resolve the issue, I also discovered that I can not sign in to Sonos with my account information (email) and it automatically has my husband’s email  and asks for that log in.  I have deleted the Sonos apps and reinstalled with the same result on both my phone and Mac.  What am I doing wrong? 

I am an owner of a Sonos Beam and I am curious about the support of Dolby Digital plus (DD+).  The only surround codec that is supported by the beam is Dolby Digital 5.1 (DD5.1).At the moment the beam doesn't support DD+. Nowadays the standard audio codec within streaming services is DD+. Streaming services like Netflix and Amazon prime only use DD+ as audio codec for surround sound. Sonos profiles itself as a company targeting on  delivering good sound for streaming services.In my opinion it is the Achilles heel of the Sonos beam not supporting DD+. The beam wil produce no sound or poor quality PCM stereo using Netflix or Prime on older TV's that can not transcode DD+ to DD5.1. In the reality it will often result in no surround sound and the beam is preforming under its ability.Adding the support of DD+ wil solve this problem and make it up to date with nowadays standards.So my question will DD+ be added in the future as supporting audiocodec for the Beam?  

It’d be great if there was a ‘Shuffle Albums’ play option for Music Libraries.  Apple Music (iTunes, not the service) has this and is it is a great way to re-explore your library.

Hi folks,Many people spoke about the latency response via the line-in when trying to connect DJ Mixer yo Sonos system. I have a simpler question though; if i tried to connect mixer to the line-in port in Sonos five paired with another Sonos Five. Would i atill experience latency? i am not sure if this is the same question that has been asked before or not but most questions were talking about multi-room streaming but i am simply connecting pair of fives in one room and want to use them to stream music sourced from mixer. 

As of today, all of a sudden Apple Music won’t play - or plays one song, then stops.I’ve done the following:Unplugged then plugged back in the Sonos speaker Restarted my wifi router Reauthorized my Apple Music account Removed and then readdd my Apple Music accountNo matter what I do, the issue persists. I am able to play my Apple Music playlists using the native music app and airplay - I just can’t play Apple Music using the Sonos app.

At random times... my system starts by itself, often playing very loudly. This just started a couple months ago. Sometimes will start in middle of night, including the outdoor speakers. I have to figure out how to stop this! I tried disconnecting the system for a week while we were on vacation, but it did it again today when i plugged in the system again

My S1 controller on my android phone has, up to a day or two ago, controled all devices on my system, some “legacy” S1 devices and others newer S2 devices.  I presume an update has occured and as a result all the S2 devices have dropped off my system.  I have tried resetting the S2 devices but they remain unseen by my S1 controller.  Quite apart from the irritation and time wasted  I am appalled by the plan, by Sonos,  to effectively cause perfectly functioning devices to become obsolete.  This can only have a commercial motive, ie to rip off and treat their customers as cash cows.  If I cannot get a solution to this nonsense I will never buy another sonos device ever again and will council any of my well heeled friends to avoid this company with a seriously problematic business model.If any sonos advisor would like to contact me and talk me through a solution...and it all works when he finishes the call then I may be tempted to rivise this view 

My Speakers are kicking on all by themselves without anyone prompting from anyone in the home playing them.  It appears as if it is being triggered from a Spotify list being played elsewhere (not on wifi at home).  Is there anywhere this can be changed/addressed/modified?It’s as if the speakers are turning on by themselves every day.

I recently bought my Sonos Beam and hooked in up with my 10 year old plazma Panasonic Viera TX-P50S20 E through its HDMI ARC slot. To other HDMIs on my TV I plugged my cable box outputing Dolby Digital and Google Chromecast device. The problem is no matter which one I use I’m not getting DD, only PCM. I also tried the optical output from my TV - same thing. I googled on this issue a bit to find out I’m not the only one and even in Sonos community I found folks reporting the same problem. The BIG question is: has anyone been able to fix / workaround this or the situation is hopeless and there’s no way this could work as Panasonic does not passthrough DD ? Anyone?

I’m thinking of buying the Sonos Move and need some advice?The main purpose for me buying the Sonos Move will be to stream and play music from You Tube. With this in mind, I intend to pair the Sonos Move to my Samsung android S10 plus (or new S20 as I’ll be upgrading very soon) and connect via my home Wi-Fi. That said, I have been informed that this is only possible on an iPhone and only possible on an android phone via Bluetooth. Currently I’m using the Bang and Olufsen Beo Plus speaker paired to my Samsung phone and use it as described above without any problems. I want to be able to do the same on the Sonos move without any problems. If it’s not possible to do this via Samsung phone via my home Wi-Fi, then what are the implications of using and relying on Blue Tooth instead of Wi-Fifi? Many thanks,Doug

In short: I have an issue where my Beam keeps loosing it’s connection to my TV requiring me to reconfigure it (disconnect all other devices on the TV and run the Sonos app) every time I turn my TV on. In more depth… I’ll start with my equipment: Sony XBR-65X900E TV has 4 HDMI ports, two of which allow ‘enhanced 4K’, and one of those two is the ARC one).   Bravia Sync is enabled sound is set to output to Audio System running latest firmware (v6.6520) Beam - connected to the HDMI ARC port (#3)  also have the Sub and two One’s attached for 5.1 SGEYR SGHD501 4K HDMI Switch - connected to the second enhanced 4K HDMI port (#2) switch iis connected to a Vero 4K+, PS4, PS3, and Xbox 360 All HDMI cables are from Monoprice (Ultra Slim Certified Premium High Speed HDMI Cable, 4K@60Hz, HDR, 18Gbps, 36AWG, YCbCr 4:4:4) just in case it might have an impact My issue is that my Beam keeps loosing its connection to my TV every single time I turn the TV off. Hi, My bean has stopped showing up on my iPhone as a possible airplay device. This appears to be the case with or without the Play:1’s connected as rear speakers. My Mac can see the beam as an airplay device in the audio drop down and is select-able. Oddly, my other iOS device can see it and it s running the same OS - 14.4.1 I have disabled all active VPN’s on the device but i imagine there could be something else interfering with this if its working on other deices. Ive reset both router and sonos devices a few times already to no avail. Is this something any of you have seen or reported before?

small bug but bloody annoying, the sonos app does not appear if you try and search for it in the iOS search menu (pull down on home screen)No matter what i type, s2, sonos, the sonos app just doesn't appear.i use this shortcut to get around my iphone so be great if this was working again, it certainly used to be in previous releases.  

This is so frustrating. After my last bout of “cannot connect” issues were solved (band steering) I thought I could settle down and just enjoy the music. Oh no that’s not to be. A few weeks back (I suspect after the last update) all my Gen 1 devices (Play 5 x 2 and one Connect) disappeared, leaving just my Play 1 visible. Several router and device reboots later I gave up and reset one of the Play 5s and the Play 1 to factory defaults (bad move - I should have reset the app first). Now I can’t get anything to connect for more than a few minutes, if that, and I’m in an endless loop of app reset, search for existing network, can’t find it, etc. I have one Play 5 (one that was not factory reset) connected to the router via ethernet. This sometimes appears, as does the Connect, but the whole thing is flaky. I managed to get music playing on the Play 5 for a brief time, but now the app can’t find the system again. Hello,To keep costs down, I am think of getting a pair of SYMFONISK speakers to play music in my store in two different rooms, instead of purchasing a “real” SONOS system for now. Basic setup: Deskstop computer (iMac) running Spotify and Airfoil with wifi coverage in store.Question: Can I purchase 2 SYMFONISK speakers from Ikea and have them play Spotify from my computer over wifi without any other elements?Thanks in advance for your help!Kind regards

Started having problems with Sonos App and speaker connectivity after last update. The speaker will only connect to wifi if it is basically next to the router. The WiFi has not changed and all other devices work fine in the house.

Hi,I would like to add a music library via a NAS drive. Adding works fine, but right after adding the system hangs refreshing the music library (for hours).Not sure this is relevant: In the past this worked well via my USB drive connected to the wifi router, activating SAMBA file share. I changed internet provider and use a newer router now. Connecting USB drive via SAMBA to this router results in the same issue, ie can add but hangs refreshing (I can access the USB drive via file explorer in Win 10 though).I re-installed the Sonos 2 app so Windows firewall settings are done. System: Sonos Play:5 (gen 2), update via Windows 10 software. What could be the issue? Hey everyone.When I watch HBO max with my full setup (arc, slx2 and sub) about every three minutes sound will drop for a second and pick back up (especially during action sequences). I've done resets and changed HDMI.  I have sony 950h plugged into eARC. Any suggestions? Only happens with HBO max. No issues with prime/netflix/ cable etc...

I thought I had this problem taken care of but it still seems to be happening and I am tempted to switch back to Optical connection instead of HDMI Arc connection. Sony Bravia TV keeps reverting back and forth intermittently watching Cable TV from Arc to Internal TV Speakers and I thought I had this taken care of by turning off Bravia Sync and Auto Audio Recognize but evidently that did not take care of this issue. The Bravia is still dropping off from using Sonos Arc and switching back to TV Internal speakers at times and its annoying and interrupts DVR shows etc. Some type of update needs to happen here since Bravia is still not recognizing the sophistication of using a sound bar on the HDMI 3 ARC input. This is not that old a Bravia, its a 2017 OLED and is fully updated. Any help on this?

Hi folks Apologies if this been answered already or if it’s a daft question. I have noticed this happening in the last year or so. When I try to play different music in 2 different rooms, one room will stop playing after 1 song while the other room will continue. I pay for just the bog standard Apple Music (9.99 a month). Have Apple stopped Sonos from being able to play separate albums in separate rooms? It certainly worked fine when I first purchased the system.Any help appreciated and apologies for wasting anyone’s time, first post here! Thanks
