It’s a long story but i want to use my Beam with my 2020 MacBook Pro which only has USB-C output. Sonos say this is not supported as Beam is made for TVs (with optical or HDMI-ARC output). I can hook it up via wifi but get a bad lag which can’t be cured. SO I got it working with following daisy chain: USB-C => HDMI adapter; HDMI => optical; optical => HDMI. It’s driving me nuts that it won’t just simply work with the USB-C => HDMI, as I understand that both USB-C and HDMI (from 1.4b) are supposed to support everything e.g. see this CNET report: “Dongles begone! HDMI Licensing has announced a new version of USB-C that has native HDMI support. That means you'll be able to connect compatible tablets, phones and laptops directly to a display without the need for a separate converter. A simple USB-C-to-HDMI cable will replace the $70 dongles that currently exist, though the source device will need to have been designed to output HDMI via USB-C. According to HDMI Licensing

Hi all After having spent the last 2 or 3 hours for an answer, I give up and come here to ask my question!I own a Philips 7300 series TV (exact ref is 50PUS7354/12) and plan to buy a Sonos Arc + 2 x One SL + Sub (3). Bought in november 2019.Given the cost I would like to make really sure those Philips TV actually have eARC HDMI ports.Everywhere it mentions ARC ports. However the TV supports Dolby Atmos, so I’m quite confused... Could someone confirm this information or help me to find it, before I spend this much money on the Sonos system :)Thanks!

Hi all,I am new in Sonos family. I am trying to configurate my Sonos ecosystem. My actuall configuration is like below:1. TV in living room + sat dekoder2. Zone Amplifilter Crestron C2NI-AMP 4x100 in rack in the office. 3. Place for 2 incelling speaker in living room4. Place for 1 incellin speakers in kitchenI would like to add to this setup:1. 2xZP90 and plug in to the Zone Amplifilter Crestron - it will be responsible for two zones: firs for the kitchen second one for incelling speakers in living room2. Additional to above I would like to install Sonoc ARC and plug in to TV using HDMI ARC I have few question to You: 1. Will it work correctly? 2. Will it be any voice delay between ARC and incelling speakers? Mainly i am interesting about any delays between incelling speakers in living room and Sonos ARC. This is the same room. 3. Ok so I've found and bought a Sonos Connect that's compatible with S2 (serial begins with 1607).Now to get some outdoor speakers. I don't have an existing system, so no amplifier to connect to. I want to do this on a budget at the moment so what's the best option? I thought I could get a pair of 'active' outdoor speakers as these have a built in amplifier. In theory they can be connected directly to the Connect right?

Expensive Sonos Beam Paperweight? Known Sonos Beam & Samsung UHD TV HDMI e-ARC & Optical Issues from Several Customers for Months/YearsIt would seem that if there is a known HDMI e-ARC and optical HDMI converter issue between Samsung UHD TVs and Sonos Beams and Arcs (two products) by numerous customers that have been reported and remained unresolved for months and years, then by this point some type of an official definitive resolution or determination would have been made so as to not waste the time of frustrated customers or tech support.If Samsung TVs are definitively incompatible then please just say so I can return my new TV. I have also contacted Samsung tech support about this issue. No word yet. One would think that senior management and software engineers would have elevated this to determine if there is a software, HDMI-CEC firmware, newer HDMI e-ARC cable or other solution. Hi, having just set up the Arc and a Gen 3 Sub, I thought I would add Google Assistant. Unfortunately, when I get to the point, where it asks you to login to my Sonos account, it just say that my email address or password is incorrect! I checked and double checked my Sonos account details, and I am inputting the correct details. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Google Assistant, but it still says my account details are incorrect. Now what? TIA

I bought a Port yesterday to allow my Turntable to play audio through my Sonos speakers.Prior to directly connecting the turntable, I brought up my old Denon receiver from 2003 in hopes of being able to connect that, and play FM/AM radio. (Mostly for Summer baseball games, we prefer the radio announcers over the TV ones)  But that receiver didn’t have a general RCA output to connect to the Ports input. It only had it via the Tape In/Out, but that only allows one device to be played.The stations app isn’t allowed to broadcast the games via stream, and I’m not going to pay for the MLB streaming app, since we only listen to our local team.But I also wouldn’t mind connecting my CD player, and old tape deck as well, so I have the option of playing all three media types through the port.So I’m curious who has a similar set up and which receiver they have to accomplish this.Much appreciated!

Hello all.. I have a couple of 1st generation play 5..and want to know if I connect a Sonos arc will I be able to connect the play 5’s i have?

I have a Mycloudhome.  I loaded music folders and inadvertently had duplicated the folders in a sub-folder.  I have now cleaned the drive so there is only one incidence of each track.When I list tracks in Sonos Mycloudhome, every track is listed twice.As an experiment I deleted an album and it's tracks from the Mycloudhome completely and the tracks now appear only once on the Sonos list.  Where are these tracks if not on the Mycloudhome drive? How do I get rid of the duplication?

Hey All,#I have Sonos-5 speaker and a Project Turntable with built-in pre-amp.The speaker and turntable are on opposite sides of the room and was wondering what bit of Sonos kit do i need to send the sound to the speaker via wifi? Can I plug the turntable into the Sonos Amp or Connect and stream to the speaker and if yes which is better out of the two?Cheers

 Hi, I have an echo dot linked to a Sonos speaker. Whenever I ask Alexa to play bbc radio 2 on the Sonos, it plays bbc radio 2 Wales. There is no problem when just asking Alexa to play radio 2 on itself, however.I have recently upgraded from a 1st gen to a 3rd gen dot, but the issue remains the same.Anybody else had this problem? If, so, what’s the fix?I have also asked this question in an Alexa forum.

I want to use Google Assistant to play my local library, but it seems to be only able to start / stop music. Is there a way to ask Google to play a specific song from my library like it would from Deezer or another service ?

Hello,I encountered a very bizarre problem. After struggling to find a clean setup so that the 2 One SLs were equal in volume, they started to be uneven again.Indeed, I suddenly realized that one of them sounded louder than the other without me touching anything. I also noticed that enabling and disabling TruePlay was also causing the same issue. I have therefore avoided comparing with and without since. Only this time it happened without me disabling it. Thinking of a bug, so I removed the 2 One SL and even reset the Arc as well as the surround speakers, but nothing helped.While they ring at the same volume without TruePlay, as soon as I turn it on the reverse happens. The mood on the right is always stronger, whatever I do. Desperately, I wanted to try reversing the speakers. So I did a test again, this time selecting the opposite surround speaker from what Sonos had asked me to do (without physically inverting them, only virtually). Hi!If I buy a Sonos One Gen 2 and setup Alexa, will I be able to control any other alexa enabled devices, such as video doorbell or I will be able to control only this Sonos speaker? Neven

I’ve been using my Sonos One in Japan for the last year. If I move to the UK, would it be possible to use the device there if I replace the cable with the UK Angled Power Cable? Or are there differences with voltage/wiring internally in the device? Thank you.

Hi.I’m excited to have bought my first ever Sonos product today. The Sonos Arc with the Sub.It sounds awesome, but no surround and no Dolby Atmos.Our TV has standard HDMI ARC but no eARC. So I’ve bought the HDFury Arcana.I have our Google Chromecast with TV plugged into the input of the HDFury Arcana, and the eARC output of the Arcana plugged into the Sonos Arc. The HDMI out plugs into my TV.I’ve tried a number of Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ titles, but it doesn’t seem to be Dolby Atmos. I assume it will display Dolby Atmos on the Sonos app on my phone. How can I tell?And why can’t I get Dolby Atmos?Are there any settings on the Arcana that I need to select? Have I plugged anything in incorrectly?Is there a setting on the Chromecast, the Arc, the app or something else that I need to select?At the very least I want to show the family (and myself) why Dolby Atmos sounds like. I saved a podcast episode to my Spotify playlist but when I use the Sonia S2 controller to play it, it’s greyed out and doesn’t play. Instead it gives me an error message “access is denied” 

Is the Sonos Library limit still approx. 65k?I ask because I am running into the Can’t Update Music Library dialog saying“There is not enough room to update your music library. Please remove unused queues or saved playlists and try again.”Is there any easy way of double checking this to make sure e.g. a diagnostic.I suppose I will have to move towards PLEX. If so it is a pity I can’t trial it first before committing as it is a big outlay for a life subscription which I figure I will need.

Over night my Beam which has been connected to this LG tv since April (which is also brand new) has stopped working. In no way can i get it working.. Silence. Using the Sonos app i tried to reconnect it and it fails with Arc mode not connected. I have checked the cables both ends and even replaced the cable and still no joy. I performed a soft reset of the TV (unplugged for over 60 seconds) followed by a factory reset. Still nothing worked. The TV now only sees the Beam as a server rather than an active port showing on HDMI 2 Arc. All other features of the Beam are working such as streaming. For info, the beam is connected to a pair of Play1s. (Original)  Any ideas? 

I have been using my playbase for several years, here is an issue which happened today: when i use the tv remote, if i press + the sound goes all the way up, eve  if i use the app to lower thr sound again, the sound increases again automatically all the way up whereas i dont touch anything, any suggestion?

Apologies if this is a basic question. Is it possible to output from sonos amp’s banana to mini jack? Are there adapters for this and how to search for them (cables plus adapters)? Thanks in advance

Hello allIn the past I have changed router/wifi succesfully more that once but this time I cannot get connected to the new wifi.I have tried every solution (I have been able to find in here but no help)I am running two Play:1 and one Play:3I have done a factory reset on all three devices.I have added the Play:3 (using a cabled connection) and then added the two Play:1 succesfully.Everything works fine at this pointThen I go through the wireless setup part. It tells me that I am connected to the new wifi and that I may disconnect the ethernet-cable. Once I do this the sonos app looses connection immediately. (if I press play on any of the speakers they music will start playing, so the speakers must still be connected to the wifi)Once I plug in the ethernet cable I am able to connect again with the sonos app. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated Br. Christian

Hello, I believe this is a common issue although one which I cannot resolve. My setup Sony KD-75XG80xx purchased in 2020 and Sonos Beam worked faultlessly for 9months. All of a sudden the beam will no longer work with the T.V. However it does play music.  After looking on this forum I have done everything that the community has suggested to no avail.  firstly I removed the T.V from the wall to check the connections. All ok.  I then swapped the original HDMI cable supplied from Sonos to another one. No change.  I then removed all other HDMI equipment from the T.V. I checked the audio settings on the T.V and all the same as before, Bravia Sync on Audio and  to audio out.  I then removed all HDMI ports from the T.V including the ARC connected to Sonos and turned everything off over night (about 8 hours) including T.V and Sonos Beam.  I then turned the T.V on and re connected the ARC and repeated the process of trying to connect the Sonos to the T.V didn’t work.  Out of ideas and getting v
