When I ask Alexa to play a radio station or an artist it recognises the request and replies, eg ‘playing xx from Global Player’ or ‘shuffling songs by...’ but then silence. I can play these fine through the speaker using the app. If I ask a straight forward question eg what’s the weather forecast Alexa replies correctly. Does anyone know what the issue is with the music and radios? 

My Sonos system has stopped playing BBC Radio stations. It registers the various stations when I select one but will not play when I hit the play button. It plays other stations, eg Classic FM ok.Any ideas anyone?

Hello everyone,I am the victim of a problem that made me go to war with my internet provider for almost 2 years.For two years, I suffered untimely internet cuts which were actually because of my SONOS product.Let me explain, I have two SYMFONISK sound systems which are placed too far from each other, suddenly the wireless connection was difficult to make (although it worked from time to time, but there had too much cut).So I decided to connect them both to an ethernet outlet.After an umpteenth internet outage, my provider decided to come and change my box and from then on, I no longer had internet when I plugged in my two switches (my first sound system was connected to switch 1 and my second sound system was connected to my switch 2).But the craziest thing is that when I connected my switch 1 to the internet and disconnected my switch 2, I still had internet on my switch 2! Hi, all. I have a Sonos Move. I have trouble playing via the Spotify app. I can generally get it to play via Spotify now, but I have to go through a very awkward process: after I try and fail to play through Spotify once, I have to hold the power button on the speaker for about 10 seconds (speaker won't turn off otherwise after trying to play music from Spotify) then I can use speaker as normal using Spotify. Can you tell me how I can avoid having to do this painful process every time I want to use my speaker? Thanks

Hello. I am moving from a house  to an apartment. In the house I have a stereo system and a home theatre with a 5.1 AV receiver. In the apartment I will only be able to have one system. I could go with an ARC with Sonos sub and surrounds. But I do like my stereo speakers. If I went with a Sonos AMP and add the Sonos sub and surrounds will I miss too much by not having a centre speaker? 

I have used Sonos for a long time and, previously, would set an Amazon Music playlist to repeat overnight via my Play:One, i.e., ocean waves.Once I upgraded to Sonos One, the playlist fails to repeat and the queue clears itself as if it never played.I phoned Sonos support and the tech observed that a track which was fast forwarded to its end repeated. They “taught” me to use the repeat function and closed my case.The internet and power are fine, btw.  Software is 14.4.  Any ideas?  

Hello, I bought my Sonos (5.1 with 2 play3) 5y ago from the UK and all has been working great.However, for a few days now, I started hearing this static noise from the playbar. I don’t hear it when sound is on, but when Tv is off is like having a constant tinnitus in the ears. How can i get rid of this. Diagnostic: 1899576103 I now live in Japan (since 2018), which support yo contact if i bought the system in the UK.Thank you

Hi,I have a very simple system that works fairly well: 2 Roam speakers connecting to an Asus mesh system with two nodes (the one wires to fios router and one satellite node).  It works fine when the speakers are indoors but the speakers start to drop when I go outdoors.  I gather it’s due to a relatively poor wifi signal BUT I noticed that the speakers connect only to the wifi signal coming from the router that’s hardwired to the Fios router, even though the other node is much much closer to the speakers.  Q: Is there any way to force the Roam to connect to the nearest node?Thanks in advance,Frank

Unable to play M4a files (AAC Audio file), however they play fine in iTunes. Tracks are skipped until MP3 file is found that will then play fine. please help 🙏.

The last time someone asked why there are no release notes for S1 updates, the answer was that there was nothing new to report.The last available release notes are for version 11.2.6. My current system version is 11.3 (so clearly, there was either a change larger than those between compatibility 11.2.4 & 11.2.6--or the numbering system is used wrongly), and now there is a new update available (I do not know to which version, and I cannot find a way of checking).This might be seen as petty, but the issue is important: past updates have broken system compatibility without announcing it clearly to the user. Sonos have decided to remove many system management options from the desktop app (I find it very user-unfriendly, as it is easier for me to perform more complex tasks on my desktop than on my phone), and so I am reliant on my phone to manage my Sonos system. Hey folks,I’ve got some Playlists and I’d like to add to them. Nothing earth shattering about that BUT, I’m on the Sonos2 app, on my iPhone, I go to the three dots of a song and it has “Add song to My Sonos” but no option to add to Playlists. Should I just delete the App and download a new one? Or is there something else that I’m missing? I added the Sonos Roam to my system about a month ago if that is relevant. Thanks.

Hello. I have a beam 2nd gen, sub 1, a pair of play 3s. It has been working fine until I noticed stuttering on just one of the play 3s. Regular music seems fine. I tried reboots, unplugging tv cables, arc. The fact that it used to work this morning and doesn't makes me worry it is an issue with the unit itself? I tried different output modes on the tv.  Had the issue with auto and direct. Dolby and dolby plus didn't seem to output through my surrounds properly so couldn't hear stutter. Everything is hard wired. Seems like the recommendations are to reboot routers and factory reset? But why just an issue with one speaker and not the others? Also if it is just atmos but music seems fine, maybe software?  

I’ve read a lot of posts regarding similar issues to mine but none identical. I have a classic Sonos surround set-up with the Beam, run from a Samsung TV on HDMI ARC, which works perfectly most of the time. However when viewing advert supported channels e.g. My5 and 4OD I get a loud buzzing from the Beam right channel toward the end of the advert sequence or when the programme restarts. It’s like there is a change in the audio coding used by the ads which triggers it and the only way to stop it is by power cycling the Beam. I submitted a diagnostics report hoping for some advice: 691378500.

After the latest Sonos update, my gf unplugged the Sonos One during the update thinking it was something wrong when thr led started to blinking and now the speaker makes a strange electronic sound and hangs up (almost like a broken record), and doesnt play any further.I have tried to factory set the speaker without any luck.   Have never experienced this before.Diagnostic: 35527183

I’m just now getting to understand how Sonos and Airplay work.   If I have an Airplay enabled Sonos device (“Device A”) and several older non-airplay Sonos devices:Can a create, say, Group 1 with Device A and Device B (non-airplay) and the Group 2 with Device A and Device C (non-airplay)?  (I tried this, it seems to work) How do I select which group will be airplayed?  So far, I can only Airplay through Device A alone OR Devices A, B, and C.  What am I missing?

I’ve noticed that for many issues regarding SONOS Play 1 (all software updates in place), it seems to constantly come down to the same instruction “Reboot your router”.  Rebooting a router is inconvenient and disruptive - especially when ALL other things connected to it work perfectly, consistently and reliably.  I don’t like having to reboot the router unless say there’s a fundamental internet issue, you’re left questioning why?  

Yesterday while playing a station on Sonos Five which was initiated via a request through my Amazon Echo, the station would not stop. I had to touch the Pause button on the Five. Today, I found that any request to play Sonos via Alexa Echo or Alexa App will not play anything. In troubleshooting I removed the skill, added it back in, removed the group and added it back in, removed the devices and re-discovered, rebooted everything. All firmware is up to date. Up until yesterday all had been good.Right now on the Alexa app I have the Sonos skill enabled and the Sonos Five enabled. I have no Alexa groups. I can play on the Sonos Five via the Sonos app. I can play on the Echo via a Alexa voice request to the Echo or via the Alexa App.  I can request Alexa to play to my Sonos Five via voice request to the Echo. It is acknowledged but no sound comes out. I can request The Sonos Five to Play via the Alexa App, but it does not start playing and does not show the playing bar on screen.I am not

I have a Sonos Play:1, a Sonos One, and a Roam. The first two have been on my Wi-Fi for years now. The Roam is new. Because of the Roam, I switched from the S1 to the S2 app on my iPhone. When I did that, I lost my whole system. I don’t mind so much because all of my playlists are via connected services. My problem is that now I can only get the Roam to connect to my Wi-Fi. I’ve gone through the various articles and asked the Sonos bot. I’ve successfully connected them to my router via ethernet, but cannot connect them to the Wi-Fi from there.  I’ve reset both speakers to factory settings. I’ve rebooted my router (both in the order prescribed in various Sonos support articles). The Wi-Fi connection still fails. At one point, I got my Play:1 to connect to the Wi-Fi, but it would not appear on the system tab of the S2 software. That time, my router software showed all items connected, but the Sonos software said differently.My latest attempts have been all after I have a successful wired

I have had successful alexa and sonos integration for some time. Multiple ‘native’ alexa devices (spots, fireTV) and multiple sonus devices (tv sound bar & sonos 5’s) and a mixed sonos move device. Everything worked fine until a few days ago -- when I ask alexa to play my flash briefing I get time and day then “here is your flash briefing” then silence. Similarly when I ask alexa to shuffle my spotify playlist I get “Here is music from spotify” and then silence. I have powered down/up, logged out of amazon/alexa accounts and back in, deregistered services and re-registered,...still nothing.

I’ve got the Arc, the Sub, and the Amp working with my TV. I’ve got a Five in my kitchen I’d line to add in so I can hear the TV when I’m cooking. Is this possible? 

I have 4 out of my five requiring an update along with the app stating the app needs an update. After over 10 attempts to install, reinstalling the app, switching off all devices inc router, nothing is working. Any ideas folks ? 

My Roam has mostly worked for months but not won’t play music with Alexa to Prime or Spotify.  It says it is playing but it does not.   I have spent  hours removing and reinstalling apps but nothing has helped.  I have rebooted my network and the device a dozen times and that has not helped.   All my true Alexa devices work well.  This is very frustrating.  People have better things to do than fight with technology while support just takes the whole weekend off while users are frustrated.

Hi,I’ve got a Sonos One that I purchased 3-4 years ago (roughly).  So I’ve owned it since new and never had issues updating when new updates were available.  Running Windows 10 with the current Sonos software update.  I have omitted the IP address, but it is there and correct.  The progress bar for the for the software update completes… then displays the following message:  The Sonos controller installer failed to download.  I have turned off Windows Firewall and my anti-virus… still no resolve.  As a side note, my Sonon One is working, but a little quirky at the moment.  I primarily use it for listening to music.  Sometimes it will play requested iHeartRadio stations, and sometimes it will just stay silent after a request.  Same with Pandora stations.  Any help would be appreciated. Associated Product: 192.XXX.X.X---------------------------------Sonos One: KitchenSerial Number: 78-28-CA-13-99-A6:DVersion: 11.1 (build 56076060)Hardware Version: 1.21.1.8-1Series ID: A100IP Address: 192.

Hi!  I just purchased 2 fives and would like to be able to use the line-in port to play cds with my Sony CMT-SX7.I already connected the 3.5mm to one of the 2 fives and the RCA (red and white) to the back of the CD player. However no sound is coming out from either five (set up as stereo). Is this the right setup or am I missing a step? Photos attached.Also, the setup in the Sonos app looks complete and whenever I play a cd, the Sonos app shows there is signal (the wave icon moves up and down) even though I have no sound at all. Any advice is highly appreciated. 

We really need a way to control a Sonos outside the home wifi. I went into holidays and I forgot to remove the alarm I had every day. My dad came to my house for one week and has to wake up everyday to turn Sonos off! I don’t understand that basic features like removing alarms cannot be done outside wifi.
