In the Wall where my tv is, i have 3 integrated loudspeakers. I Can buy a unit for the 2 sidespeakers but how Can i set the system up for home theatre using the existing center speaker.

Hi all, I'm aware this question has been asked a million times over, but unfortunately cannot find the answer to my issue. Basically: I have a set up with play bar that works fine with our samsung series 7. Optical audio is plugged and works. Added 2 play 1's to the setup just now as L and R rear speakers. TV emits dolby 5.1 sound, that's fine. Still no sound from my play 1's when watching TV. When listening to music they work perfectly though. What else could be the issue?

Another how to deal with DTS question: I have a few DVDs (not BluRays) that are older and have only stereo and DTS 5.1 as options. Since they're DVDs the Samsung BD-J6300 won't transcode the DTS to DD. Has anyone run across a solution for plain DVDs to get DTS to DD? Many thanks!

Hi. Can the Playbar be configured to use a Play 1 for the left channel and a Play 1 as a right channel? (Or any Play speaker for that matter. I'm looking for a way to get a larger separation of sound, more than the Playbar will give. Can this work or is this not too good of an idea? Many thanks!

Not fair! The US gets $25 off the Play One as well as the Play1 price drop... But not us in the UK! Come on Sonos, please address this terrible disparity!?

All of my components are in white in my living room, aswell as all of my sonos play:3 and play:5.... Are there any plans on bringing the Playbar in white?

I have searched, and searched, and tried mutiple different ways to make this work with no luck. Here is a breakdown of my setup, and what I have tried. My tv does not pass 5.1 to the playbar, when I upgrade in a few months ill make sure this is not an issue, but until then here is what im wroking with. Im using a playbar, sub, and a pair of play 3's connected wirelessly. Tv (samsung, which does not passthrew 5.1) and the devices connected are my xbox 1 and my pc. Works: X box 1 connected via optical to the following switcher (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HQ2R38C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which is then connected to the play bar. Hdmi out directly to the tv for video only. This works great. Does not work (Sound passes threw but its in stereo) Computer, I have my opticial connected to my Asus xonar dgx sound card (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007TMZ1BK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to the optical switcher, same as the x box o

My current setup and TV is able to passthrough DD 5.1 Playbase is connected to tv directly via optical and Apple TV, cable are all able to passthrough 5.1 verified on the sonos about app. My PS4 for gaming or using built in Netflix app is supporting DD 5.1. However when I play a Blu Ray that has DTS with no other options it's transcoding to Stereo. I've done some searching but haven't been able to confirm whether this is PlayStation issue or Sonos issue. Has anyone had success with this?

Not many televisions support Dolby Digital 5.1 passthrough from HDMI, ex. Apple TV 4K connected to TV with HDMI and sound optical out to soundbar/soundbase. Ex. 5.1 sound when I play Netflix in the TV:s smart app, but not when I play the same from Apple TV or Playstation. The normal is 5.1 sound out from optical port everything from the TV itself, like the built in apps or HD TV-channels, but never from connected things. Its only Dolby Pro Locic simulated surround from stereo source, like the fir round systems from VCR. Is there a solution to this?

Hi guys new to forum and sonos in general. I’m having an issue with my new sonos playbar transcoding DD/AC3. Currently getting no sound and any help is appreciated. To note I am using an htpc with hdmi into a hdmi and toslink splitter (link here https://www.amazon.com/TOSLINK-Optical-E...B01K7BZ1XC) with hdmi out going to TV arc hdmi port and spdif out going to playbar. I also only have playbar so far and not 5.1. Settings on Samsung TV are external speakers and PCM audio output as that’s all it allows me to choose when selecting external speakers. Thanks for any help as not sure if it’s the splitter, TV, Htpc, or playbar causing the issue. One final note is I have ARC deselected on the splitter as I didn’t think I wanted that if trying to just use audio through spdif...even if i turn that on it doesn’t do anything. Sonos app shows silence as the audio format. Thank you

I have just kicked out my old Bose System and went full Sonos in the house. My old setup: all HDMI coming into the Bose AV receiver, one HDMI from receiver into a HDMI splitter, 1 end to the TV, other end to the projector My new setup: both HDMI (Apple TV + satellite) going to my TV, toslink from TV to the soundbar. My projector is currently not connected. What are my options to get it integrated? If easier to get done, I’d be happy with only the Apple TV on both TV and projector. Any suggestions?

Hi I have just bought a new Panasonic EX700, connected to PLAYBAR by optical and just wont work - sound only coming out of TV and can’t find any options in the sound settings to switch to Sonos - just turn the TV sound off and nothing comes out of the Sonos?! Help!

not getting any sound through sound bar when playing DVDs. Disk player connected to TV via HDMI cable. Tv connected to the sound bar via optical cable. SKY TV through sound bar works perfectly, this is also via HDMI cable, from sky box to TV.

Thinking of getting 2 play 1’s to complete my playbar experience. The question is will they play music when I’m not watching tv and just want the music on?

Over the past 2 weeks, I bought 4 PLAY:3's. Last week I bought a Soundbar Playbar. I finally had time to move 2 speakers to the den with the TV & Soundbar. I can play music through the Soundbar and 2 speakers without any issue. When I play the TV, the speakers are intermittently lost for a second or two and the Soundbar sounds like regular TV audio. I tried all of the speakers and the same thing happens to any that are grouped with the Soundbar and playing TV. It happens so often that it's not practical to use them any longer. Looks like I just blew A LOT of money unless you can help me. I guess I can always get my refund at Best Buy if I have to but the Soundbar is great, as are the speakers and I really to keep everything. Please help soon or I won't be able to get a refund if necessary. I ran a diagnostic and the confirmation number is: 6804588 TV Model is LG 47LW5300, Serial #107RMTT16169

i Have the playbar, a sub , and two Sonos ones in a 5.1 configuration. I am moving into an apartment and to lessen the noise at night when I want to listen to music, I just want to listen to the Sonos one pair in stereo. I see no option to turn the playbar off I can only turn sub or rears off. I’d like to be able to just move the ones into the kitchen sometimes and just listen to them. What is the easiest way to do that?

Hi, this may just be me. I have had a playbar and 2 play 1s as my surround sound set up for a while now. When I play my TV or music the sound out of the rear play 1s is extremely low and do not add anything to the audio experience. I have been through the set up a couple of times and each time increased the distance sat from the speakers (its now at max) each time rerunning true play to optimise the sound which has made no differece. This is my first surround sound and its not the experience i was expecting or have heard about. I dont think it ls working as it should. Please advise

I have a Sonos 5.1 setup with Playbar, sub, two Ones for rear speakers. I also have one Play 5 in the TV room. As an aside, it is a very large room with a very high wooden ceiling. I have a second Sonos Play 5 coming. Has anyone tried using the 5.1 system with the addition of two Play 5 speakers set up as a stereo system? I was wondering if that would be overkill or would actually add to the great experience of the stand-alone 5.1 system?

OK, so I've already got a PlayBar and Sub (and they sound awesome btw but that's another thread). I want to add in 2 rear speakers for 5.1 awesomeness. I had originally thought of buying 2 x Sonos One's for use at the rear speakers (and elsewhere in the house at other times) but not 100% sure if the ONE can be used this way? Anyone? Can they be used alongside Playbar/Sub in 5.1 configuration? I know the Play1 and One cannot be paired together for rear 5.1 speakers (which is a massive shame) so it's a straight choice between 2 x Play1's or 2 x Ones? I see that Sonos will be selling the PLay1's for £150 this week, so do I go that way or wait for a better deal on 2 x One's? (if they can even work in 5.1 setup). Thanks!

My daughter just pulled the Playbar forward a few inches which made the optical cable come out. I'm sure with other devices an optical cable clicks into place making it very hard to fall out. But with my Playbar it's always just rested in place and comes out very easily. Is this the same with them all? Wondering if I should try a different cable.

I'm about to chisel a cable run into a masonry wall for a new Samsung TV. My plan is to place a sound bar - and odds are it'll be a Playbar - beneath the TV. The Samsung needs the cables to exit the wall on its centre line within a few inches of the bottom of the TV. The sound bar cables will clearly need to exit a little way below that. Given the recommended TV/Playbar spacing of 1", how far below the bottom edge of the TV will I need to go before bringing the Playbar cables out the wall in order to meet the connector recess in the rear? I'm planning optical, LAN, HDMI ARC (in case I go Yamaha soundbar) and power cables. Any others I should add? Also what connector will I need on the power cable for the Playbar? I imagine figure of eight but given it will be a UK model, could it be different? (With apologies for the earlier incomplete post. I pressed return to start a new line, not realising it would post the question).

My playbase no longer connects to my system. It was previously working along with a sub and 2 Sonos play 1 surrounds. The other units are still visible in the controller. I have reset my router and the playbase without any success. I have connected the playbase directly to my router, the unit connects but then it is lost again when I move it back onto WiFi (I also have a boost). The unit is next to the sub which doesn’t have connection issues. I have submitted a diagnostic, 8093738. Many thanks

I have a Vizio P65-C1 model TV and a Comcast (Xfinity) cable box (Model #Pace PX013ANM) setup with a Playbar, a sub, and 2 play 1's is where I am having sound distortion issues, mainly a deep distorted bass sound occurring while watching content from the Comcast cable box. It happens on a daily basis and can occur while watching live TV, content from the DVR, the Xfinity Youtube app, or the Xfinity Netflix app. It seems to be a problem with the Vizio TV in connection with Xfinity I would assume, because if I disconnect the optical toslink cable from the default location (back of the TV) and connect it directly to the cable box, the distortion issue is resolved. ALSO, if I leave the optical cable connected to the Vizio TV, but change to the input to the Apple TV and watch content, or play with the PS4 it NEVER gets distorted. So something about my TV in connection with my cable box is causing this problem, and it is quite bothersome. I can't leave the audio cable connected only to

Hi I have just bought a Sonos Playbar, and I need to disable the internal speakers. The playbar recognize the remote control but each time I turn the sound up it happens both on the tv and playbar, so I need to disable the internal speakers. The TV is Panasonic TXP50ST60Y Does anybody know how to do it?
