Controllers and Music services

In my household I have a Sonos One in my daughter’s room, and an Arc and a Beam in other parts of the house. I have everything connected to my Sonos account using Spotify and Alexa. I want to restrict what my daughter can listen to in her room, so I set her up with her own Spotify account on my family plan and restricted explicit music.I can’t figure out how to set it up so her Spotify account plays on her Sonos One, and my account plays in the other parts of the house. I tried creating a separate Sonos account, but the Sonos app wouldn’t let me. I added both her and my Spotify accounts to my Sonos account, but couldn’t tell it to use one account on one device, and another account on the others.What can I do here? I will have to get rid of the Sonos One and buy some other speaker if I can’t restrict explicit music in her room.

Hi all, help!I’ve changed my router and now my music library isn’t recognised. I’ve deleted it from and am trying to re add it but it says ‘there is no shared folder’ on the laptop’?????  It’s all Series 1 Sonos products, I’ve attached to the new router via ethernet and it recognises my new network, but I just can’t add my music folder - what am I doing wrong?  I’m not techy at all, so if you can shed any light in laymans terms I’d really appreciate it.

My music library is located on a external hard drive, I would like to reset the paths that are already set to add further music selections. However, when I open “Music Library Settings” all I can see is Desktop

A question for Sonos.  Why can’t you make a combined S1 and S2 universal controller?  Can’t your software be smart enough to identify and combine all of your speakers?  I get the hardware is different, but if S1 controls old hardware, and S2 new hardware, why not a S Universal that is smart enough to combine and control it all?  Or is this a way to force the sale of upgraded hardware?

Certain podcasts (ie. The Ben Shapiro Show  and  the Dan Bongino Show) will not play or connect on Sonos, whether its on Pocketcast, tunein, iHeart etc. The podcasts will play on Pocketcast, iHeat etc apps on the  iPhone. Is Sonos blocking these podcasts

I have had a Sonos system with 4 speakers for a few years and it has been working great until recently.I noticed that a couple of the speakers disappeared from the Sonos app (S2?) so I tried all sorts of options and eventually got them to reappear. Then one speaker was unplugged and moved to a different location and it was then lost in the Sonos app!Then, we had a power cut and all speakers disappeared again.I have been trying to get them all back but they just won’t connect anymore!?I have 2 x Play:3, 1 x Play:1 and 1 x One (Gen 1).The wifi is provided by a Netgear Orbi mesh.Internet is via a Technicolor DGA0122The Sonos app is the latest version (v15.1.1) I have restarted the router, the Orbi wifi and every single speaker. I have reset each one (by holding the necessary buttons until the speaker chirps and flashes amber). They usually connect to the SONOS wifi but not always, they then fail to connect to the Orbi wifi.

HiLast week-end I had trouble browsing my Deezer music on Sonos, so i removed my family member account (the other accounts left unchanged).=> my member account was no longer displayed in the list of Deezer accounts in the Sonos appWhen I tried to reconnect my member account, the beginning of the process was ok. I could select in the browser my member account. But when switching back to the sonos App, I got an error message saying that this account was already configured and that adding it was useless. But my member account was still missing in the Sonos app.I tried to reinstall my Sonos app, without success. I disconnected all my sonos equipments before trying again, without success. I tried from the PC with Sonos Controller and got the same error message. Any idea/explaination?

Now that Era 300 means that Atmos music can be cast directly to ARC, Beam (Gen 2) and Era 300 without the need for a TV (Thank goodness)... Will it be possible to play local surround sound music to these devices too? I have a collection of multichannel flac files that I would love to put in the local library and cast to these devices without a tv.

I bought a play 1, some years ago, which has been working OK over the period. I recently decided to replace  my old LG smart speaker with a new, sonos one. Which I now regret.Since my purchase, I spend most of my time with the app, trying to find the speakers, sometimes unsuccessfully. Constantly  going through the same rigmarole I sometimes actually  give up.My account on the app,  email and system, is often one day greyed out and I cannot access anything. But the next it's  highlighted and functioning. Voice control, both Alexa and Google, are sporadic in their response. So given up, even with simple requests.Yet strangley, Spotify find the speakers no problem. So I can at least use that. I'm at a loss, other than accept, I've  made a mistake.Anyone else? 

I’m trying to resolve an issue with my Echo and just disabled my Sonos skill. When I try to re-enable it I can’t because it says it’s not available due to geographical reasons. The Sonos site says that it is available in Canada so I’m not sure what to do. Please help.

I’m using Sonos with URC to digitally distribute music throughout house. However, when I try to add albums to My Sonos through my Spotify now, it’s says “unable to add to My Sonos. There are no empty slots remaining.” Any ideas? Bc I’m confused. It let me add about 25 Albums but now it’s full?

The download page states S2 app current version is 15.2.1 updated 3/7/2023, however when I download the Mac os version it downloads 15.1.1, and today is March 11, 2023.    The app keeps prompting to upgrade but results in error when I try to run it through the app. I cannot download new version form Sonos page..

I have a Sonos system that used to be connected with an account. I want to change account and create mine but everytime I try to connect with new account, the old one is referred, registered.... I have uninstalled the application, I have tried several options, nothing is successfullHow can I totally erase the old account?Please help.  

It seems about a year ago people had this problem, but was it ever resolved? It started happening yesterday, if I open the S1 app on my computer it gets stuck at the logo launch. Reading other form posts. I’m able to get around it by disconnecting my network, waiting for the app to finish loading, and then reconnecting it. But it is a supper annoying work around. Has anyone actually fixed this issue?

Hi, I got a sound bar which I downloaded the app for and set it up using my own account and email address.The sound bar works with my app for increasing and decreasing volume etc.However if I go into settings in the app and try and sign in it has a random email address and I can't sign in in the app. It says there are new features I'm the app and to sign in but it's not my account. Like I said the sound bar works I just want to be able to sign in in the app. It also has someone else's music choices and songs listened to which is just weird to be honest. Any help would be appreciated  Thanks 

This is weird.  Normally I use my iPhone to control Sonos…  It is, by design, only oriented vertically.  Meaning, the Sonos App does not rotate on the iPhone; it remains vertical no matter how the phone itself is oriented.   In an effort to become less iPhone dependent, I am setting up a dedicated iPad to control stuff in my house (Sonos, Weemo, Phillips Hue, etc).  Unlike the iPhone, the iPad is typically used in a horizontal/landscape orientation (I think that is not unique just to me).  I have discovered that the Sonos pause/play button will not work on the iPad when it is in the horizontal position; it is there but it does not respond to touch.  If I rotate it to vertical, it works.  Is there any work around (other than the obvious which is to turn the iPad to be vertical :-) )?  My ideal is to have my iPad mounted and left in the horizontal position.

I see this topic discussed in several different ways, but I don’t see an answer (other than removing the amp from the system) or feature request.I have Arc+amp+sub in a system, but on occasion I would just like to play music on the speakers connected to the amp.  The technology is definitely there to do that...someone at Sonos needs to do the programming.  Or is there another way?

I’ve rearranged my house, and would like to move a Sonos Port into a room that already has a Ray and Sub in it. I can rename the room that the Port is in to the same thing as the others (in my case “Living Room”) but I still have two separate rooms with the same name.I assume I can do a hard reset of the Port and then re-add it to the room, but I’m hoping there’s an easier way.Similarly, I have a couple Move devices that I would like to carry into different rooms to provide fuller sound in those rooms for particular events. Would love an easy way to configure the system to indicate that these speakers are now grouped with other permanently placed speakers in a given room.Does such a function exist, and I just can’t figure out how to access it?

With no changes in the system for the last 2 years besides software updates, my beam and amp started to automatically lower the volume to a certain volume. All Voice and Touch controls are disabled. All devices were restarted and seem fine.The beam does this with the tv input and audio streaming.What can I do?

When Spotify is my selected source it doesnt list NEW RELEASES. I dont need MOOD, FUN BLUES, INDIE. Anyone else?

Is there any way to disable the bright white screen that displays with the alarm?  I'm sure it drains my battery significantly if left on for any period of time.

Now that Sonos has announced Apple Music support for Spatial Audio this month .. can we confirm this also includes support for lossless Audio?
