can I wire 4 bose 791 speakers to amp?
Hello,One of our sonos one box just stopped working. We don’t know why it doens’t work anymore. We saw that the light on top of the box didn’t light up anymore and then we noticed it didn’t works. We bought the box in november 2019 at the BCC store in Veenendaal. We already went to the store but they told us they couldn’t help us because we were past the guarantee period unfortunately. Is there anything sonos can do to see what’s wrong with the box? Kind regards Randy Hulsken & Laura Diepeveen
I have noticed if I have music playing in one room of the house and in the middle of the song I group it to another room the audio sometimes only plays out of one of the stereo speakers even if I see it online, once I power cycle the speaker everything is working as expected. I do have multicasting and all the IGMP proxies setup on my router. Could this be because there is a lot of information being transferred at once to the new grouped speakers that the multicasting doesn’t keep up? I don’t seem to notice this when I pause the music and group the speakers to then un-pause the music.
Googled everywhere and can’t seem to find a definitive answer:I run a projector with input from a laptop thus my audio output options are 3.5mm jack and/or RCA output. If I picked up an old ZP90 could I run the audio wired to the ZP90 and then from the ZP90 wireless to my Sonos Speakers and would this work without the sound delay to the video coming through the projector?A Sonos Beam just doesn’t go well with a 110” projected image on a blank wall whereas Vertical mounted 5s or 1s either side of the image are perfect.I’ve previously run audio via 3.5mm jacks directly to a single Play 5 (which then wirelessly links up another play5 and Sub) but this is far too much overkill when I could better use some play 1s instead ( but as everyone knows they don’t have any audio wired inputs ).
Have an interesting issue, easy setup. Multiple Connects, connected directly to a power amp. No DSP….No processing. When all zones are grouped together a few of the players are out of sync….by a half a second. Causing an echo from room to room. The resolution is to ungroup all the zones and regroup them. This seems to fix the issue for a day or two. To me, its almost like a master timing issue? Anyone else ever seen this?
Having returned my first Sonos Roam to the retailer as it simply didn’t work at all, and received a replacement, I am finding the replacement impossible to use too. Apple Music won’t work with it (Sonos cannot access my playlists even though it lists them), and the connection with Bluetooth is very unreliable.I am returning my second Sonos roam to the retailer for a full refund and will never purchase another Sonos product again. The Sonos Roam is very probably the worst consumer product I have ever had the stupidity to buy.
Recently there seems to be an issue with the S2 Desktop app. I have tried to fix it with a Sonos Technician (case# 04350051) but they couldn’t fix it, and suggested I try and escalate it for a more advanced investigation. What seems very odd is there is no way to advance and ‘report an issue’ other than calling Sonos, and after spending over an hour yesterday on Sonos chat, some of us just have the time to sit on a phone. Hence why I’m highlighting the issue here. The issue is (and it’s only an issue with S2 Desktop app), whenever rooms are grouped the volume control and mute controls of the grouped rooms often stop working. The only way to get them working is ‘ungroup’ and the individual rooms then have working volume/mute controls. It’s not an IP issue (Sonos tech checked that) and several diagnostic reports sent to Sonos. It’s only on the S2 Desktop app, and only happens when using grouping. Could this be looked in to and update fix be released. Thanks
Frustrated as I cannot get a clear answer on whether or not Sonos can work with the Starlink router and/or if there is a work around? I live in a rural area and Starlink is my only hope but Sonos customer help says Sonos does not support satellite internet. Any help on a way to make this work would be greatly appreciated.
I bought a Play 3 for use around the house. Worked fine when I added it using the old Mac app. Then it dropped off and of course Sonos removed the add unit functionality from the Mac software. I have had to re-load the app on my phone (new phone) but the app reports “Sonos not found on this wifi”. It wouldn’t because I have a Sonos Bridge. My phone cannot find and therefore select the Bridge wifi. My intention was to try and remove the Bridge. and use my tp-link mesh. However, the guides say I need the Bridge removal tool which is in the App! Catch-22.I have Bridge, Soundbar, the subwoofwer, Play 1 x 2, and (optimistically) the Play 3. The S1 app on the IPhone. Can anyone help?
Looking for the correct way to hook up 3 Polk Audio RC80i in ceiling speakers to my sonos amp.also will be using my Sonos arc to make it a surround sound system.Thanks.
I’ve been having issues with playlists exported from iTunes, where any songs with special characters in the filename wouldn’t play in the playlist, despite playing fine when playing through my library within Sonos. Support weren’t unable to resolve this, their solution was to export as .xml instead of .m3u or .m3u8 - from what I can see it doesn’t even support .xml playlists.Anyway I came across this manual workaround within these forums, which did solve the problem, however I have quite a few playlists, with a number of problem tracks in each, I also export regularly to pick up any updates to the playlists so manually editing every time would be a nightmare.I’ve ended up writing a PowerShell script to fix all of my playlists with one click. I saw a request elsewhere for a script to do this so posting it here in case it is of use to anyone. Simple copy the script to a new file and save as type .ps1, editing the three variables at the top as per your own structure. If your playlist path
I hear an intermittent thump during softer passages of various files, particularly in Calm. Though it sounds like a bass kick drum, it is irregular and clearly not keeping time. This often happens with nature sounds or similar as I fall asleep. I don’t see this addressed for Sonos One in the archive.
Hi,I just moved into a new house where there are four in ceiling speakers (two in the kitchen and two in the living room) and a Sonance woofer in the living room (VP85W). I purchased a Sonos Amp and successfully connected the four speakers and they are working great. Now trying to connect the woofer, since it is a passive one, I got a Nobsound G2 Pro Mono Subwoofer Amplifier and connected it as shown in the attached pictures. When I play music there’s no sound coming from the woofer. I also tried connecting the woofer through the Sonos app and it’s not finding it. What am I missing? Thanks!
Hi, I recently switched broadband to Shell Energy following a house move. They supplied a Technicolor DGA0122NLK router. I have two Play 3s. Music will play perfectly for 5 to 8 minutes before stopping. Error messages include ‘Song not encoded properly’ and ‘Wi-fi connection unstable’.Are there any other Shell Energy or Technicolor router users who’ve had similar problems and have found a fix? Thanks in advance.
I recently reset my phone to factory settings to give it a refresh. I recently went to play Spotify through my songs arc. I now can’t get my arc to connect to Spotify or my wifi. Has anyone come across this issue?
Since about 3 weeks I have a strange issue, my Sonos seems to be haunted. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday my Sonos 1 plays a radio station at exactly 5:11 AM. I am unable to find any settings why this is happening, but it kind of drives us crazy as the speaker involved is in the bedroom. Anyone else having had this experience?
Après un bruit dans ma playbar, je suis obligé de débrancher et la rebrancher pour avoir du son. Moderator Note: Translated by Google TranslateAfter a noise in my Playbar, I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get sound.
Hello, for a few days now I’ve been unable to add tracks to queue from amazon and spotify. I get no error message and I’m able to play a station. Queue is emtpy and when I try to drag somthing on there it turns grey and it’s not added. Also the usual ‘add to queue’ menu items disapeeard. I restarted the sonos, router and PC several times and software is up to date. usually an icon appears with individual which explodes individual songs, but it nowhere to be found.Sent diagnostics, confirmation is 1472919792. Thanks
About 3 weeks ago, when I introduced a Gen 3 Sub to my setup, I am finding that when I adjust the volume of a group or when listening through just one speaker, it will jump up or down outside of my actions. This morning I have to keep turning the volume up as when I open Spotify or the Sonos app the volume reduces. What’s going on, and can it be fixed? Diagnostic report - 1211388327 I’m controlling Sonos on an iPhone 11, iOS 16.03
I am building a pool that will be outfitted with THREE underwater speakers from Clark Synthesis. The specs of the speakers are: Continuous Power Handling: 135 watts Impedance: 4 ohms Overload Protection: Polyswitch Frequency Response: 20Hz to 17kHz Electrical Connection: 100ft. – Underwater, 16-2 Wire Dimensions: 8” (20.3cm) Dia. x 4.5” (11.5cm) Deep Recommended Amplification: 125 – 150 W at 4 OhmsI don’t know how to figure out whether one can connect these 3 speakers to one amp. I reached out to the manufacturer of the speaker, and they were not totally clear but it seemed that from what they could tell from your website that maybe it would not work. I suggested to them that we could simply have 3 amps (one for each speaker) to which they replied that it appeared that the speaker would then be over powered. I guess that adds risk that one might blow out the speakers? With an underwater system, you can’t really hear the music if you’re not under water so you might crank it up too
Using a new wifi network (xfinity) on my 12 speaker sonos system. Having sonos system drop out issues. Took recommendations from previous conversations, and removed the boost, and hard wired internet connection between Sonos1 SL (or any speaker), and Main Google Mesh pod that is near xfinity router. If I remove the Google Mesh, it’s somewhat stable. But I need the mesh for maintaining strength of signal throughout the house. Kept having drop out problems with Google mesh attached. On the Xfinity app, I was able to separate the 2.4GHz channel and 5Ghz channel into two separate wifi systems with different names, selectable from smart devices. Selected the 2.4Ghz channel, and SYSTEM IS STABLE after a couple of hours. Selected the 5Ghz wifi network and as expected dropped out. Switched back to 2.4Ghz network and all seems to be FINE!
Ok. So I’m in the process of setting up a nice patio with tv and music. And decided to go with a Sonos amp and a pair of definitive technology aw6500 speakers rated at 200 watts. At first I set up amp and ran one speaker. Maybe an hr into running it the tweeter blew. Then I returned it and was able to grab 2 speakers (one per channel) I installed it and let it playing some music at 75% max volume. Came back outside and both speakers sound blown. I just took both back and picked up a new pair and exchanged the sonos amp for another just in case. Haven’t connected anything yet just trying to get some opinions on this. The speaker wiring is 14g marine electrical cable. So i can’t blame that yet.
We have a bit of odd problem. Our total grouped system looks like this:iPad using the Sonos App and Spotify App3x Sonos Play 31x Sonos Play 11x Sonos Connect (not amp) connected via RCA to Sony AV Receiver STR-DH590We have been using this set up for over 3 years without issue, up until about 3 weeks ago. When we start a playlist through the Sonos App, the Connect will fall out of sync and play about ¼ second ahead of the rest of the system. But if we start a playlist on the Spotify App, then connect to the Sonos group, everything syncs perfectly. Our Wi-fi is mesh and everything is connected to the 2.4GHz band. We would prefer to use the Sonos App for our system, and using Spotify is not the end of the world, but it’s such a strange new problem that just cropped up with out adding any new pieces to the system.Everything is up to date with the newest updates as well. Anyone have this issue or thoughts?
TL;dr - Force quit the Sonos app and Reboot the iOS device. App should work again. This morning my iPhone Sonos app will not connect to services or allow me to play some music sources. No Amazon sources are available. When I visit settings - Services & Voice i get a white screen and popup saying “Network Problem Detected - Check internet connection and try again.” Re-opening the app would lead to an immediate crash/quit. Problem effects only one device running iOS 16. Other devices in the home are on 15.7.I found the same problem when iOS 13.something was released:I checked my DNS logs and found nothing relevant from the iPhone with the issue. So I tried rebooting the iPhone. While writing this up I noticed the iPhone had finished rebooting and found the Sonos app was now working. Seems like another Sonos release not quite right with a new iOS version.Sonos App Network Error
I had a week of outage of my broadband provider. They replaced my cable modem (router configured as a modem). All fixed eventually..NO changes to the wifi router and everything else has reconnected fine. BUT. On the sonos app, I had no devices. My playbase was droping sound every few seconds even though it was working together with the rest of the surround sound. I could not control anything. I did a factory reset on 2 x Sonos 1s, my sub and playbase. It took 2 or 3 attempts to get them to connect, but eventually I was able to add the two 1s and the sub in the Lounge “room” in the app. Then I added the playbase - this took 7 or 8 attempts until it eventually worked. I added it to the room Lounge. Thought I had success. When I went to the app again, the playbase was showing as being in “Lounge 2” while the two 1s and the sub remained in “Lounge”. When I try to change the room for the Playbase to Lounge, it does not appear on the list and when I try to reassign the 1s and sub from Loung
