Sonos Connect with in-ceiling speakers won't play sound after power outage

Hello. We have several in-ceiling speakers connected with a Sonos Connect. Every time there is a power outage, the in-ceiling speakers stop working. In the app, it says music is streaming to the Connects, but no sound comes out. In the past, I’ve had to restart the amp and the Connects and then wait sometimes 24 hours for sound to come back. But on the most recent outage, I am not able to get sound at all. Like I said, the app is showing music to be streaming, but no sounds comes out. Thanks for the help!

Try unplugging the Sonos CONNECT (or CONNECT:AMP?) from power. While it’s unplugged, reboot your router. Give the router five minutes to fully restart, then plug back in the Sonos to power.

Power outages are generally bad for electronics, especially those with essentially a full computer inside them. There’s always the possibility that the Sonos was damaged, either by a surge, or a too low voltage. There’s not much that can be done, in that case, other than calling Sonos Support directly to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and network.
