Amazon Alexa and Sonos

I can get it to stream an audacy station by starting it from my iPAD. When I say “Alexa play xxx on Audacy,” it just says “hmm, to enable that , enable that skill and say discover devices. j  My iPad already lists Audacy and Tunein when I browse the Sonos app. When I say discover devices, it only wants me to connect my tv. So, I can I get Era 100 to play an Audacy or Tunein station by voice command?

Can’t get Alexa to play music. I tell her to play a genre, and she says “playing X on Sonos” but then keeps asking “what do you want me to play next" and never actually plays anything.

I have a Sonos Amp and 6 Amazon Echos in my home. I can communicate to Alexa to play music through the 6 echos OR through the speakers connected to the Sonos amp but can’t find a way to play music at the same time through the 6 echos and the speakers. When I try to “combine rooms” in the Alexa app, the “Sonos” grays out when I select the echo dots. The echo dots gray out when I select the sinks speaker resulting in me not being able to combine them. Any help is appreciated !!

I’ve just bough a Sonos One for my home office which has it’s own router. (I have two already in the house on a different wifi network.) It wasn’t playing Spotify or radio stations properly so I disabled the skill in the Alexa app and when setting up I was prompted with the attached.I’ve selected ‘System 1’ which is now working but the devices in the house (system 2) are now not working properly with Spotify, etc.Does this mean I can’t use two different setups at home? 

New Era 100 speakers. Alexa is set up ok if I ask it a question. But it won't play BBC sounds, or Apple Music. I can play both through the App, but I'd really like to just ask the speakers to open BBC sounds without going through the app. Ditto music through Apple.  Everything is linked per set up instructions.  As it's both BBC and Apple I suspect the issue is with Sonos, but I may be wrong. Any thoughts or suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.

Is there a way to prevent or reduce the time that Alexa ducks Sonos speakers?

I already installed the Amazon Alexa app on my phone and it doesn't show up in Sonos app. When I tried to add a device directly from Alexa and search for Sonos, after some instructions they finaly inform me "You are not elegible to enable this skill due to geographical restructions". I'm from Chile and I can't belive this issue in a product that is not cheap. There are a lot of cheaper options in the market that use Alexa and works pefectly. Sonos assistant is limited and just support Sonos Radio like default app. So limited. I'm very happy with sound quality by the way, but is important to me have a good assistant. I want to confirm if the service is avalilable at my country and if not, Sonos is thinking to add it and when?

Hi, I have passive speakers connected with a sonos amp in the bathroom. Now I control them with a Echo Flex connected in a spare plug in the bathroom.Now Echo Flex is no longer sold and my fear is that if the device just stops working I have no alternative for voice control in the bathroom. I have no room for a Echo dot or Sonos One or Roam. I just need a device Alexa compatibile that can fit in a plug.Anyone knows any alternative? Thanks

Both Alexa and hey Sonos have stopped working. I can play music thru the app, but all voice control is gone. I rebooted speakers, deleted and reconnected WiFi, deleted and added both voice controls (which worked upon initial so mics are working) but then would not work after setup. I signed out of every account and logged back in. Nothing!!!!! Is the Sonos server down? Thx Jackie

According to the brazilian Sonos Webpage, the Sonos One works with Alexa. But, in my setup with 2 Sonos One and a Sonos Beam, Alexa does not show up as Voice Service. This is really bad, as it means that I cannot use my Fire TV cube!It is really frustrating, as the interaction with this device was the primary reason for buying the Sonos system. I feel mislead by Sonos Brazil. [Yes, I created this topic out of frustration, I feel mislead!]

I have an Arc set up with two One surrounds and not long ago (I can’t pinpoint exactly when) it started taking at least ten seconds for the volume to go back up after asking Alexa something and the answer finishing, or if it thinks it hears the wake word it will stay quiet for far too long. Any ideas would be much appreciated, as it’s really annoying. I don’t have ‘follow-up mode’ enabled as it’s ‘disabled when using Wi-Fi connected speaker’ according to the Alexa app.

Recently taken my somos roam away and connected to the holiday home wifi. Worked ok to start with but now Alexa won’t play music when prompted. Alexa works and searches as expected but for some reason music cannot be triggered. I have to do it manually via the sonos App. I tried re-authorising the music services, reinstalled Amazon music, but still nothing. Is very strange. Any ideas? 

I have one Sonos One and another SL in my room set up as a stereo pair. If I ask the ONE a question is it possible it responds from the speakers of both the ONE and ONE SL? so if I ask a question alexa only responds from the speaker of the ONE. Can I make it answer my question on the both speakers???

throughout the last couple of years I have had variable success with whether or not alexa turns off the tv. now its variable success whether or not alexa turns on the tv. switching hdmi to the non-arc port is what allowed alexa to turn off the tv. BUT that annowing sign saying your audio device is not in the arc hdmi port would intermittently show up despite pressing ok or just leaving it alone. Samsung TV. switching the hdmi port bact to the arc port now “confused” the tv and so variable whether or not alexa can turn on or turn off the tv… SONOS, please address and create appropriate update. what does the community think? thanks

I am using Alexa on an echo dot and it plays music through my Sonos One gen2. Is the echo device superfluous here? Which device is actually converting the digital music stream to analogue (I presume that the Sonos has the superior DAC). Thanks.

I have a Beam upstairs and an Arc downstairs. The Beam works fine with Alexa ( although have an Amazon fire stick close by the Beam, and I wonder if it’s that which is responding?! - this is connected to the tv, and so is the Beam). but with the Arc Alexa keeps replying - “first enable skill for Arc in Alexa app” .. which is already enabled but I’ve tried disabling it and re-enabling it, but then Alexa says it can’t find devices. I’ve been able to control the Arc via Sonos app, playing Amazon Music, but Alexa won’t work. Can anyone help with this? I’m very confused!

Has anyone else had issues setting up Alexa on their Era 100? I have a One with Alexa enabled but when I try to add Alexa to my 100 I get a “There was a problem adding Alexa” error after clicking the “Sign in to Amazon” button. I have logged out of and back into the Amazon Alexa app, and disabled/re-enabled the Sonos skill in that app. 

Bought a Sonos One and connected it to my old 2x Sonos plays.I did this to set up Alexa routines for my daughter.While I have been able to get music to play out the speakers from a routine,I cannot get it to do an Announcement through any of the speakers from a routine.When I press play on the routine it says “Now playing you routine” but no sound is played.I have reset the speaker, removed the Alexa app, re installed it re connected it to the Sonos app but it still did not work.There is a post on the Sonos community talking about this from a couple of months ago but it seems like it is working for some and not others.I was hoping someone here might have some thoughts on getting this to work.

Alexa on Beam v1 is broken after the 15.2 update.  Fed up. Every update destroys my system. How about you?

I’ve connected Alexa and Alexa speaks through my Beam. Yet when I ask Alexa to play my music it says I need to connect. 

I have two Sonos speakers with Alexa (beam and one gen2).I've created a routine with an announcement to be played on all the speakers at a certain time, but it is not working. also testing the routine is not making any announcement. If a do a manual announcement it is working correctly. I have seen other threads about this problem but I haven’t find a solution.

The alexa on my sonos can't play any music services, it says I have to link them and go back to sonos app, but they are linked. I've tried a million times. Any help would be great
