Amazon Alexa and Sonos

When I choose my new Sonos One through the Sonos App my music plays throughout my system no problem but if I try to use the Alexa App or tell Alexa directly to play music on the other speakers it will only play on the Sonos One speaker and not on the rest. I have them all set up correctly, I can see all the different speakers on the Alexa App and on the Sonos list, I have even created groups no problem. I just want to be able to voice control Alexa to play music on all my speakers....surely that's not hard...what am I doing wrong?

I have no sound when telling alexa to play a song on my play:1 speaker. Is there a fix? Sonos plays just fine when connected to computer.

I have a pair of Sonos One speakers set up in stereo mode in our family room. The noise Alexa makes to indicate that she has heard us mention her name is driving my dog crazy. Can the sound be changed or completely turned off (while still being able to use Alexa?)

I have an echo dot that works fine with my 2 sonos speakers in my home. I've now added an echo dot to a second home that also has 2 sonos speakers. Alexa cannot discover the 2 sonos speakers in the second home. It says no discoverable devices. Any thoughts?

Set everything up as instructed with Sonos & Alexa apps, and it seemed to be working at first - but now when asking Alexa to play Pandora, it was stuck on one station in the player of the Alexa app, and when I ask it to change it sometimes told me that I need to enable that skill Sonos in the Alexa app?? when in fact it is enabled. I figured out that I could change stations by going to HOME on the Alexa app and then click on browse Pandora to select a different station - but the station I was first listening to was the image in the player. Either way, no matter what I do it only plays one song from Pandora in both the Sonos app, or the Alexa app. Definitely seems like an integration issue between Alexa & Sonos.

I started with a Play:1 and Play:3 - all was good. I added a Sonos 1 and put it where the Play:3 was located, put the Play:3 in a new location. Have sorted out the new names and locations to match in Sonos. However, in Amazon Alexa, the names do not match Sonos. Is that a problem? If so, the only way I know to be sure the Amazon Alexa names match the Sonos names and speakers are by the speaker serial number. I have the serial numbers from "my Products" in my Sonos account but can't find the numbers on the speakers and none of these numbers match any of the serial numbers listed in Amazon Alexa. How to resolve this ID problem?

Will the new sonos 1 have all the abilities of the echo units, such as timers, alarms, voice calling and Drop in?

I know that the Sonos One Alexa integration is limited. However, as Alexa devices now pervade my home this limitation has become more frustrating. My specific issue is with Alexa skills that I have added. One in particular exemplifies my problem. Twitch has a new Alexa skill with which I can play the audio from a stream through my Alexa connected devices. This is triggered with phrases like "Alexa, ask Twitch to play ". With the Sonos One, it responds to the commands, but will not play the audio. So, if I ask it to list streams it'll do it, ask me which I want and then do nothing when one is selected. So, I can't really tell what's going on. It seems that the skill is supported but it just doesn't play the audio. Have any of y'all resolved these kinds of issues with skill integration on the One? Can you control all your Sonos speakers with one New Sonos one speaker? I.E. can I tell Alexa/Sonos speaker to control other 'older' Sonos to raise volume?

I am having trouble using Alexa on my Sonos one to play music through Spotify. Whenever I ask her to play something e.g “Play Wide Awake by Katy Perry” she just replied with “sorry something went wrong”’. I think I have linked everything correctly so not sure how to resolve this.

What is Sonos doing, its got a great product. why put it in danger with a second rate voice product. Amazon only will let you use, what it makes money from. So no NAS drive / Cloud / Pc /Phone music files. please bring out your own simply voice to Sonos, and you make so money and keep your good name.

Is there any plan for the Sonos speakers to work with Google Voice Assistant like Alexa? I am currently own several Play 5 speakers so can Sonos make that current product line to work with voice control as well (Alexa/Google Assistant/Siri/Cornata).

Hi everyone i can say stuff like alexa good morning and alexa play radio from tune in etc.. all works fine BUT now when something is playing if i say Alexa turn off it ignores command and continues to play.. it use to work i would say turn off and everything went quiet..Anybody know a fix or why this is happening

I got the Sonos One and an Ecodot hoping to add voice control of my music library to my various sonos units but Alexa does not find the library? Could Sonos add this as a feature? Seams strange not to have included it. Thanks Adrian

I have a Sonos system set up at my home with a PLAYBASE and 2 Play:1's and everything works great. I bought a Sonos One today for my office which is away from home and when I set it up I chose to set up a new Sonos system which i now regret doing. I want to know how to delete the new system i created today and just add the new Sonos One to my existing system being that everything is already set up and I have an Amazon Echo dot setup at home too that is working well with my Sonos system. Also, when trying to get Alexa to discover the new Sonos One through the Alexa app it fails to do so. Maybe it's becasue the Sonos One is on this new Sonos system that I shoudnt have created? Even the professional installers who helped me set up my new One speakers couldn't solve this issue. Anyone else have this error message when trying to set up voice services? I live in Los Angeles and all my devices, Amazon and Sonos accounts are registered in the USA. I've tried it with numerous iPads, iPhones to no avail. Pretty disappointed in the product as this has been going on for more than 6 weeks now.

Does anyone know how to choose the alarm sound when setting an alarm on a Sonos One using Alexa? I can't find the option in the Alexa app as it would be with an echo device. I do realise an alarm can be set in the Sonos app, but it seems the Sonos alarm can't be controlled by alexa command!

Hi. Loving the new Alexa integrated Sonos but can’t get it to play Spotify songs via Alexa voice control as I get the above error message. All accounts linked and Spotify set up as default channel On Alexa app.... anyone else had that and resolved it????

I bought myself and my father a sonos one. I set my sonos one up at home after 2 attempts and a factory reset I have got it working I can play music manually through Spotify I can use alexa I can use tune in and I can use the limited skills that sonos allows. I get the impression a lot of the skills such as "routine" and "national rail" etc do not work on sonos yet. This is not a huge issue. It doesn't really hinder my usage but for some reason whenever I open my sonos app which I try to do to see what I am doing differently to my dad I just get a " we cant connect to Sonos" "lets try some things" screen... the "things" do not fix it but I'm not overly fussed as my sonos works and it does what I want it to do. THE BIG ISSUE is my dads. He has the exact same system. I have set it up and factory reset it over 15 times and tried every possible order. I have deregistered everything and restarted. So, I have a premium Spotify account, I have Spotify set as the default music player in Alexa, but Alexa will now only respond with "Your Spotify account does not support streaming on this device." Hi, Great to finally get Alexa integration, but so far all the commands it supports seem to be rather clunky, and occasionally don't work. I have realised since having it the only command I really want is "Alexa Transfer to Sonos everywhere". This would enable me to take the thing that is playing locally and push it to every one of the rooms in my house. Naming rooms is fine when you are looking at them, but is it "Basement", "Office" or "downstairs"? Added bonus would be to name groups of speakers. Actually the core app could do with this. Otherwise, just need to get the reliability up in the hand over. The functions should also accept what is playing on my phone's music collection. So "Alexa, play on " should allow you to hear what you have selected on the phone's collection. Not sure if a phone's music collection can be queried in reverse, but it would be nice.
