I've read somewhere that it's possible to upgrade the software on existing Play:1 speakers to add the Alexa functionality. How can i make this happen?

Is the Sonos Skill available now? Can't seem to find it but with all the how to's and comments it sounds like it should be.

Hello all. I've renamed one of my rooms from "Office" to "Dungeon" because that was going to be more fun. I did the renaming via the Sonos app. But the new name appears both on the Sonos and Alexa applications, so it seems everyone knows about the new name. However, when I ask Alexa (via the SonosOne) to Play Artist in Dungeon, she has no luck. She keeps telling me she cannot find a song called "in the dungeon" or "in dungeon" by that artist. (I checked the same request in other rooms and there is no problem with understanding my meaning.) But! When I start music in the Dungeon on Sonos app and then ask Alexa wha is playing in the Dungeon, she has no problem telling me that information.

Now Spotify is supported via Alexa does anyone know a date for the Deezer service?

I have a full Sonos system and an Amazon Firestick linked to the TV on the same network. The Firestick has Alexa voice control. Given the new Sonos voice activated software linked to Alexa is it possible to use the Firestick to control Sonos ion the same way.?

I added a new Alexa Sonos One speaker to 4 existing Sonos One speakers. Alexa plays music to all 5 speakers with Amazon Music but only controls the volume on the Alexa enabled speaker so I have to use the app on my I Phone 6s to control the volume. I found info in the support pages that say I need to go to the rooms tab and tap group to link them all but the Room Settings in the I Phone App does not give me any such option. Any advice. There is really no point in having Alexa if I have to carry my I Phone around the house to control the volume. Any help would be appreciated.

I have 6 Sonos Play 1. I have 3 Echo, latest generation. I have paired devices, Aelxa says there are no speakers with the name I give (Familyroom, bedroom, etc.). I have unpaired, reset to factory defaults all devices, uninstalled Sonos app, and started all over from scratch reconnecting the whole Sonos system and all Echos. Still not working. Once in a while Alexa will recognize the kitchen speaker and the den speaker but then I can't turn them off. Please help. Lots of money and time invested here to something that was supposed to be simple.

Hello all, I have the following question: I have 1 echo dot and I will be moving to a bigger apartment soon. I always wanted to have PLAY:1s but now with this new sale they are selling 2 Sonos Ones with Alexa integrated. My question is: Should I get Echo One since they already have Alexa or should I get PLAY:1 and more Echos? The reason why I ask is because I am not sure if they will "interfere" with each other. I wanted to leave one Sonos in the living room, another in the bedroom and the Echo Dot in the kitchen. Can I control everything in this set up, like turn on lights with my Hue, temperature with Nest or even order pizzas and Ubers? Thanks!

Hello, I bought a pair of Sonos One speakers and have them set up with Spotify as default music provider. I have Spotify Premium edition, and the speakers work for requesting songs. But it does not recognize any of my playlists even if change the syntax of my request. Any suggestions?

Alexa on my Sonos One will not play music

I have a Sonos One (in Canada) and immediately set up Alexa when it was made available a few days ago. I’ve linked it with my Spotify account and set it as my default music service but... Alexa can’t find my playlists. Is there another setting somewhere I need to fix? As a side note I’m happy to report It does work well with my Wemo devices and my Nest thermostat.

Help for people considering purchasing both or the Sonos one.

I have several Sonos CONNECT boxes that control speakers in my home. How do I make these discoverable in the Alexa App so I can direct Alexa to play music in various rooms of my house. I have a second home that has Sonos PLAY1 speakers and Alexa is able to discover these but not the CONNECT.

Hi just wondering can i connect an Echo dot to the rear port on a first generation play 5. Also, if I can, will Alexa come through only the play 5 or the two linked play 1s aswell.

So, I have a pair of Sonos One's set up on stands next to my massage chair in my mancave, and all is pretty good. Still hate the fact that I'm stuck with Alexa, but I'm hoping every day that we will get the Google integration alert soon. (twittling thumbs) Anyway, yeah, I'm an Android guy and my tablet is on Nougat 7.1 and my Phone is Oreo. All's good there in controlling the speakers, Spotify, etc. The sound is pretty good. Wish they had BT functionality, but it's a good enough solution for now. However, I just can't scratch this itch regarding this Trueplay Room Calibration feature for Apple devices. I know there are certain requirements, IOS9, etc, but my question is, if I can swipe a compatible Apple Phone for a few minutes to run the routine, does the calibration stick in the Sonos One itself, and it continues to work when I revert back to using the Android sources? Or, does the calibration reside in the Apple device which in turn will disable the calibration when differe

Time frame for Alexa availability in Canada?

Hi I have the sonos one and Alexa just became supported for it in Canada. my Alexa does not seem to respond to any skill command. It only plays amazon music and gives weather / newsflashes. No skills I added are working. secondly, I cannot find the Sirius XM application in the skills menu. Sirius stated that the skill should be there for Canada. So I need help getting the Sirius skill and having the skills work

Hi, I currently have all of my music on Google Play, is there (or will there) be any way for this to be played using Alexa? The reason why it is on Google Play is that I have all my CDs ripped and uploaded (as Google provide more songs than Amazon does). I understand that Amazon and Google are rivals but from my understand how this works is that the command is sent to Sonos API, so could this work? Thanks.

What’s the point updating and then finding problems. This morning I have updated my sonos app only to find I do not have any any music commands another than volume when using Alexa. Tried removing the Sonos skill app and reinstalling , no luck.

Loving Alexa on Spotify. She gets what I’m asking most of the time. The annoying thing is she repeats the song name, what music service she’s playing on and the speaker (I only have one) every time I request something. Can I make her stop? To just play the song rather than speak over the beginning?

When will Alexa be available in Canada?

So recently I have noticed that whenever Alexa uses the hot word in her explanations she triggers herself, stops talking and starts to listen again. For example: you have the skill "Question of the day". When you're done with the skill, Alexa always says something in the way of: "You can play again tomorrow by saying Alexa"... At this point Alexa hears the hot word and stops the explanation. Is there any way to resolve this issue?
