The Loudness Control option in the Sonos App for a room/zone is typically not required to be active. Loudness by definition is really only needed to boost bass and treble frequencies when listening at low volumes.Therein lies the conundrum (so to speak) as “listening at low volumes” can be subjective based upon one’s preference and/or hearing. The best way to determine if “Loudness” should be active is to listen to your music at YOUR preferred level and toggle the Loudness on and off to see if there is a noticeable difference. It’s been my subjective experience that the “loudness” option extenuates frequencies to a level just below distortion at my prefered listening level. Therefore, Loudness is off for all my rooms/zones.Try toggling Loudness on/off to determine your preferred setting.
As much as I LOVED Sonos the first few years, this system has turned into the most aggravating product I’ve ever owned. It is constantly losing connection with my devices or doesn’t see them at all. We constantly troubleshoot, reboot, move things, reinstall, and on and on so don’t tell me we haven’t tried. I’m on here so the owners of this company know that many of their customers are unhappy. No product at this price level should be this unreliable. We have not changed any of our WiFi or routers during this time or added any other products, so I know it’s nothing we’ve done. Ever since they kept doing the updates, it has been a nightmare. I would never purchase this product again. Should have stuck with our Bose system.
I bought a Beam 2 a couple of days ago - my first venture into Sonos territory. After hours of trying to connect the soundbar to my Samsung TV, I got tired of being in an endless loop of inputs on the App and making no progress. I tried every expedient including several factory resets on the TV and soundbar, rebooting the router etc., but I could not get the TV to detect the soundbar. Finally, I got the message - sometimes you have to know when to fold. I reconnected a Samsung soundbar in less than 5 minutes using the same cables and HDMI eArc. I suspect the root of the problem is a bug in the App.
Hi, Hoping someone can shed some light on frustrating situation. I live in Canada and went to a local Visions Electronics Shop in my city. I ordered Arc Ultra, Sub G4, pair of Era 300. This was on March 11. They still have not received my order, sales guys says it was excepted on March 31st, then delayed to April 4th. I called them today and it’s still not in. He says Sonos never gives them an exact date. Is all of this normal with Sonos? Thanks
my Sonos experience has been truly horrible. We have several products a fantastic network, and we cannot get them to work in unison to sync. One will start playing and stop playing instantly. Another one will start playing and stop playing instantly half the time the majority of the speakers don’t even show then an hour later they’ll all be showing. It’s just a ridiculous product in a ridiculous service for the amount of money that we’ve paid for all of these speakers
I’m using a Sonos Beam (Gen 2) with two Sonos One speakers as surrounds. While the system works great for movies, it’s disappointing when listening to music through TV apps like YouTube or Deezer.Even though these apps play stereo music, the system treats everything from the HDMI ARC port as “TV audio,” which forces the surrounds into Ambient or minimal surround mode. This results in weak, unengaging sound — the opposite of what I expect from a premium Sonos setup.Feature request: Add a toggle in the app to "Force Music Mode" or "Stereo Mode" for TV inputs — letting users choose when they want their full system to play rich stereo audio from all speakers, regardless of the source being a TV app. This would dramatically improve the experience for people who use their TVs to stream music videos, playlists, or DJ sets via YouTube or Deezer — a very common use case today.Suggested implementation: “Force Music Mode for TV sources” toggle per room. Or allow users to assign a “Music Playback
I have a Sonance 6.1 system and I’m wanting to know if I can add two additional speakers
So I received an email today - “The price is right” - offering two Era 100s for $298, down from their regular price of $498. (See screenshot below). The price is actually very WRONG. If you click the Shop Now button you find out:The sale price is actually $378 (!) down from the regularly price of $398 (!!)What on earth is happening over there? Did the re-org put the App team in marketing?
Got this in my email.
Still wondering when the step in CEO will ever make a comment/ post on this total app blunder that Sonos has created. So many still having issues according to the posts I read..here and in the FB Sonos groups.
Dear Sonos Team,I am writing to express my profound frustration with the Sonos app on macOS. For over a year, the app has been unable to detect my Sonos speakers, rendering it virtually useless. Despite numerous attempts to troubleshoot—reinstalling the app, updating macOS, and ensuring all devices are on the same network—the problem persists. This ongoing issue has significantly diminished my experience with your products.I am not alone in this frustration. Many users have reported similar problems on various forums, highlighting a widespread issue with the Sonos app on Mac. For instance, a user on the Sonos Community forum mentioned that their Sonos desktop app stopped working correctly on their MacBook Pro, displaying a message saying, "Searching for your Sonos System..." and failing to connect.Sonos CommunityAdditionally, a thread on the same forum discusses how the Sonos app on Mac cannot see speakers all of a sudden, even after restarting the speakers, rebooting the Mac, and rest
Hiare there any release notes to this update available?thanksDom
I cut my DirectTV cable a few months ago and have been streaming Video. I have my TV’s connected to SONOS Soundbars along with surounds everthing works great. In the past it has been shut off the TV turn on dinner music. Tonight rather than listen to my playlists I selected Pandora, Amazon is there too. Sorry this is on my Apple TV. It is easy to just select pick what you want and also sounds great. However it only plays on the SONOS products connected to the TV. Most of the searches for how to play SONOS on your TV deal with connecting your speakers to the TV directly or ith AirPlay. I want to see the SONOS App on my APPLE TV scren. I can then select where and what music to plqy via my Hardware Apple TV. I can do it with my phone or laptop. i know that SONOS and Apple had a deal together awhile ago and I am aware of Apple Music which I do not subscribe to. Just asking if and how to do this? Also I saw Orto for SONOS that claims to do this but have no further informatin on it. Thanks
I’m sure this has been talked about many times, but I’m making my voice heard on it as well. Sonos, you guys need some good PR, so how about adding some more flexibility to your products? Please consider adding additional functionality to Move 2 when it detects it is in the cradle. There really is no technical reason for the Move 2 to not support a sub when it is stationary and in the dock. In fact, in a runabout way I am running this exact setup by pairing a sub mini to a dead symfonisk speaker as a gateway, which then gets grouped with my moves in stereo. It sounds great! Consider that many people tailgate and do outdoor events with large batteries, who would love to plug in a sub mini by their camp for a bit of extra oomph. Maybe you could consider a portable sub for this exact purpose. It shouldn’t be difficult to make a “docked only” setting, and make it clear to users it will disconnect when the speaker is removed. And while we’re on it, you should extend this to surround sup
Artist tracks were listed in top songs and under album titles until I started using sonos voice assistant. From then on track lists disappeared, and amazon would play random tracks from unrelated artists. I've checked my amazon account subscription which is up to date, there's no Internet connection issues either. I've removed voice assistant, uninstall and reset sonos app. But still all tracks are missing. I've read there's previously been issues with other services after voice control though I'm not sure if ever this issue was resolved. Advice is appreciated.
Would love to see a 5 band to 10 band EQ. I have tried Trueplay and the BASIC tone controls. To be honest, doesn’t do it. Plus, I would like to control the sound as I want to hear it not some algorithm or some other human determining how I should hear it. Additionally, after the Sonos App update fiasco, would be a good gesture of faith, good customer service and proof you do listen to your customers.
I use the Sonos app on my MacBook Pro as I can edit playlists with it. it's now asking me to update the app! I'm reluctant to do so, due previous experience. Anyone else have experience of the latest Mac App update?
I had a green solid light on my sonos roam after connecting it to a (new) wireless charging base, which I hadn't seen before. I wanted to know what it was indicating and searching for »Sonos Roam green light« I found the article for Roam charging light indicators, where no green light was mentioned. So i went to ask support and had a chat with the Bot who told me the product shouldn't be able to have a green light (which is a lie) and asking me over and over if it was correct the light was green. When I asked to talk to an agent it agreed, but then closed the chat tab/window and I was back on the Support page (where I had opened the chat from) with the “Start a chat” buttoned greyed out and changed to “Chat in progress”, with no way to reopen the chat from there. With no way to open the chat again (and not finding a closed tab in my history or recent closed tabs) I tried searching for »Sonos light indicator« to see if it might be related to something else than battery and low an behold t
Seeing information about Trump’s Trade War If I purchase a Sonos product now, will I have to pay an additional 25 per cent now, or are the products made prior to the trade war tariff free? Are the Tariffs compounding? Will the 25% tariff on Chinese components and the 25% tariff on Canadian products mean I pay an extra 50% for Sonos? If yes, does that mean when I have it shipped to Canada, do I have to pay an extra 75% or just 25%?Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
Is it just me or is it getting worse? I can't get any speakers to connect anymore. What a waste of money.
Hello Everyone,The internal power card on my Sonos Sub 3 went KO 3 months after warranty expired.I called the Sonos support and found that there was no way to get it fixed. In return, I sent the Sonos sub 3 back to Sonos and they sent me a 30% discount code for the purchase of a new Sonos sub 4.I then wanted to place an order via sonos.com and three times, I received a cancellation message of my order vaguely indicating 3 reasons without further explanation.I then called each time the sales team, and no explanation was given to me in return.Given the premium price charged by Sonos, where is the value of its sales and after-sales service? Stephane B Moderator Edit - Removed and recorded order numbers.
Shall I just throw this damn system in the canal and be done with it?Never have i had to use such a clunky and unfriendly system. FFS this stuff shoulf be easy but at every step Sonos goes into a loop or hangs. Canal it is.
Used to be so great. Getting ready to throw this junk in the Ocean after I spent thousands on it. I just want to know why it sucks so bad now.
I’m interested in a community view before I spend potentially hours on support.I used to be a big fan, but it seems to me that Sonos app has gone from best in class to one of my worst app experiences. Some details:Five speakers, four Play 1 and one Sonos Beam System always says it is up to date. Currently S2 build 80.14 Generally takes 10+ seconds for any response (finding the system, play, pause, etc.) which is an eternity when the phone is ringing and you have music blasting. Randomly connects and disconnects speakers, sometimes refusing to change music. My Beam, for example, will only play Handel’s Messiah this morning, I guess because I played it three months ago??? I cannot get it to play what I have going on other speakers. It is like my dedicated Messia speaker. Sonos used to ask me what speakers I wanted to play on before starting play. Now it starts play, then I can add and drop speakers. This again might sound like a trivial difference, but not to the guests in your gu
I'm moving to a new home and happened to get a promotion for 25% off for 20 years and then I saw on the site when I was shopping that they had an upgrade and I have a bunch of older sonas equipment that I'm leaving with the home I'm selling. Lo and behold even with all these discounts the price is still $20 higher for an arc that I can get it at Best Buy or Costco. Crock of crap.
