I have connected my record player to my sonos, which i have done already, only thing is i want to add an amp to i control the volume etc from the amp under the record player amp, how do i get it to connect i tried to add the amp, but the sound plays through it fine,  but the controls have no impact, all just redundant so no point it being there. I had the recorded player plugged into Aux 1. and then the line out cables going to the play 5. the record player has a pre amp which i switched off and then after doing that no sound came from the player. 

I really have no clue what i’m doing so any advice would helpful. Please be kind.
