Just wondering if it's safe to update my apps Currently running S2. Have some speakers to add but have been holding off because the version I have works (somewhat) and it won't let me add without updating...Thanks

It’s been working fine for me for quite some while. And I added another speaker a few weeks ago.

In my opinion the App it gets better with each update, I have no challenges.

However, the update to the speakers messed up a bit, but worked perfectly again after a restart.

If you are using a controller version prior to May 2024 and have no immediate plans to add hardware, don’t update. The latest S2 is greatly improved and continues to improve over the May release, but it is not yet “perfect’ for some users. A current source of complaints comes from users who play files stored locally. There are relatively few complaints from music service listeners and users who primarily use a soundbar to watch TV. You may need to adjust router settings.

i suggest that you scan through the Community, looking for complaints from users who operate their system as you operate your system. Pay attention to the posting date because an issue reported in 2024 may no longer be an issue.

I updated recently and all seems reasonably OK (just a few things I’d like to see improved). If you need to add another speaker, or install the desktop app on another PC (which is what forced me to update), then you will need to go for it. Just be prepared to restart everything, and redefine any local music libraries and all should be OK
