Hi I have an issue I no longer have the option of switching back to the TV speakers SONY KD65AF9, when I activate the TV speakers, the sound works for 2 seconds then systematically switches back to the Arc.I want to activate the Arc only when I watch a movie for example but not permanentlyThe answer from SONOS is to remove the cable and put it back when I want to use ARC but it’s not really a solution. Rgds
There is a security access for Sonos?if someone access on my Wi-Fi and they have sonos application, they can access to my sonos speaker. So how can I protect access to sonos speaker ?
On some shows, using Apple TV, i get no dialogue.Only some shows - The Dropout is one.And only on Apple TV - on Android/Native TV app it works OK.Any ideas? And it’s the same shows - some on Hulu work, some don’t etc.
Hi!I’ve already read a post from another user one year ago questioning this, but the reply didn’t replied to what was asked, so here it goes:Whenever I turn my TV on, sound volume on Sonos app starts at 10, which is a little louder than I would want.IS there any way to preset the volume lever for TV, so whenever I turn TV on volume level is adjusted to the level selected?I’ve tried several times turning off TV with volume levels below 10, but it seems this volume is not saved for the next time I use my TV.Hope I can get some clarification on this.Thank you.
Hi all , I have a 4 gang rated at 3120 watts maximum and in that I have plugged my beam 2 , a one Sl speaker ( only 1 ) and my sky box , can't find any details on how much wattage the beam and one Sl use when on , I know the beam has a 13a fuse and the one Sl a 3a fuse , but no idea on actual wattage when being used ( not speaker wattage ) thanks
I have all my music stored locally on my iPad for when I travel. I have a mobile router WiFi that I use in the van for network and internet. My phone, iPad and 2 Sonos Roams are connected to this network. I can use the iPad Music app and stream music from it to the Roams via Airplay, but I notice that when I am doing this and I open the Sonos app, it shows what’s playing and let’s me control volume, EQ settings, pause etc. But when I go to look for another album etc, I have to go back to the iPad Music app. Is there a way to add the music stored locally on the app directly to the Sonos app? I could then utilise the Sonos app via the network, rather than Airplay and have full control (using Airplay, I can’t adjust volume separately for each speaker etc.). I tried adding a source from Music Library settings in Sonos app, but it wants a network path that I have no idea what to put there for access to the iPad. Thanks for any advice.BTW, those little Roam speakers are sensational, the best
Unfortunately my Playbase got short circuit because some ants inside it.Can somebody tell me how to fix the power supply main board or where can I get the main board replacement and how much. Thanks
Hi, Is it possible to use 2no Amp and 4No in ceiling speakers as a cinema surround sound?
I have a mutli-room setup and use a Beam to listen to music and for the TV. When I switch between music and TV on the Beam I have to adjust the volume each time. Is it possible to configure a default volume by input source? If not, can it be added as a feature request?
Almost every time a new song plays the sonos screen pop-ups. I have to close it. IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!! I tried to find resolution in the community. I am using a PC with Windows 11.
Wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue:I’ve had the same setup for over 3 years – for over 2 years I didn’t notice any issues, but for the last year or so I’ve been hearing strange sounds on 5.1 content, most noticeably when music is playing. It started around the time of the last firmware update on the TV (which can’t be downgraded), but the Beam may also have been updated around that time. The closest description I can think of is bubbles popping in water, like in a jacuzzi or a stream. It’s most noticeable during passages of sustained playing from strings & brass, and sort of pops away under the music. The exact clip I’ve been using to reproduce the issue is the Disney intro at the beginning of The Ice Ace Adventures of Buck Wild on Disney+ (identical to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrE8Rr_9jhU except this YouTube clip is only stereo). The popping always starts as the strings start to build up around 6-7 seconds but then it gets more noticeable around the flourish
This morning I noticed the desktop app on my PC is empty: On my iPhone its fine, but for some reason today the desktop app is empty. The PC has just been rebooted and the problem remains.
Has anyone else noticed an improvement in the height channel audio when listening to Dolby Atmos content on the Arc? I was watching some Dolby Atmos demos and listening to music last night, and the height channel effects sounded so much better than it ever has. The audio from above was clearer and more defined, and I heard sound effects that I never heard before. I wonder if the latest 14.0 update has anything to do with this.
We use Sonos to broadcast music throughout our 184 year old restaurant. The speakers were a great purchase with wonderful rich sound quality and wireless flexibility. We use a SONOS port to channel our grand piano through a microphone into the system. But to do so we have to make manual adjustments to all 10 speakers and the port to toggle between recorded music and the live piano it literally takes about 3-4 minutes and if not done properly can blast our guests out of the room as the speaker volumes must all be adjusted. Is there anyway to “save” a group of settings or a “scene”? So that we can just make the change with a simple “click”.
Hi,Questions:What is the best solution for us? Do we need two Sonos Amp to get the 4.1 system? Ideal situation:We are thinking about the following, but dont know if it is posible: Connect Sonos amp to the projector. Connect two sonos five to the Sonos Amp for the front speakers. Install 4 * sonos five directly to the power troughout the room Use the two speakers connected to the projector for sound to the projector. Usining all six speakers for musicBackground:We have a room in our office that is 86m²= 925.6963ft². This is the only room with sonos. We will have a projector here for viewing movies, gaming and holding presentation. We usually have parties here also so want good music for that.
While creating an implementation in C# to interface with my sonos Symfonisk, I noticed that the xml data contains 2 IconLists. Both with only one item. The only difference is that one contains an ID entry with the value 0 and the other doesn’t. Can anyone explain why this is?
Hi AllAm debating whether I should get a second-hand Beam (gen1) or a Soundbar and could do with some advice. Current Sonos setup: 2 x Play:1 + 1 x Play:1 (needing Bridge). Therefore using S1 App due to Bridge (really annoying btw, Sonos). Purpose: Home cinema AND music in a small to medium size room to go with a fairly old 42inch Panasonic TV (no HDMI Arc or Optical out), Have a connected SKY Q box with optical out though. Options: Not looking to spend lots on a new products but think I can get a second-hand Beam (Gen1) for £200 or a second-hand Soundbar for £250. Current thinking: I thought I was set on a Beam Gen1 giving me S1/S2 flexibility, Google voice control, and home cinema esp using the Play:1s. BUT if a Playbar is available for only a little more is this a better deal due to sound quality and richness? I have read the music quality on a Playbar will be much much better (including way way better bass) but not sure about the surround sound as older tech? Any thoughts, consid
Well I’ve spent my entire Saturday trying to add a Roam to my system. I was using the S1 app because I have an older Sonos5. I don’t want to upgrade my 5 because it still works beautifully for sound. So I removed the 5 and then opened a new account on the new APP. I tried signing in with my existing account but it didn’t recognize my password which made me think I should leave my old account as is, and I’ll use that as the APP for my 5. I signed out of S1 and tried signing into the new APP. Of course my password didn’t work so I hit the Change Password link and it asked for my email. It said it sent an email to change password. Nothing in email. Try again. Nothing I’m email. I went to the old S1 App and hit the change password link. I got an email with password change link. Change password. Go to the new APP to log in. Doesn’t recognize password. So I go through this about six times and bottom line is, I can’t log in to new APP. I GIVE UP! What a waste of a day and I still can’t get th
so my partner has given me the Pro Ject T1 for my birthday. In my front room i have 2 x Play 1, 2 X Play 3 and a sonos Beam (gen 2. All working seamisly off the app. Looking to add into but all the ways are in to Non Sonos speakers (except the plug in to play 5) so what can i use ? Is it any of them? some thing else?
This is the only thing holding Sonos back from taking throne as the best sounding and most compatible home speaker system in 2022You can do it, we know you can. If you wish, charge us for it. That way, only those who have paid a certain premium like $100 for DTS-X and DTS-HD compability can get compatiblity and regular updates via software.
Good morning,For an interactive installation, we are planning to use a Sonos system to add sound to several spaces that have multiple light installations. The light installations are controlled through a mobile app, and the sound of each installation must react to the user input, as a kind of live audio installation. We can’t install any ethernet cables or audio cables to setup a traditional or Dante audio system, so we plan to do it with WiFi and several Sonos speakers. We’ve seen that with Sonos Port you can stream stereo line-in audio to Sonos speakers connected to the same network, assuming a minimum of 75ms of delay between the signal in and the final out through the speaker. For the installation, we have a computer with a sound card, delivering 12 different sound signals that come from a live music app such as Max or Logic pro. In other words: they are like 12 computer speakers playing live the sound signals from the computer. We are planning to connect each of this 12 outputs to m
See this request goes back at least 6 years and as a recent move to the Sonos Ecosystem I am seeing two issues I wish could be addressed. 1) Default Volume when going from pause to play after 30 minutes or some other time for a device. My Bathroom One in particular as the volume for that one is all over the place depending on the event and time. 2) Ungrouping devices when all are turned off so that the default later when turned on is ungrouped. All of these issues are about not having someone get caught off guard when you hit play on a device at a later time. Like when I turned on my bathroom One and turned on the Amp in the Living Room unexpectedly. Or when it was 5 am and I was trying not to wake my wife when I was in the shower only to wake the dogs and my wife when I turned on the Sonos. BTW: These features are standard on most AV Receivers.
Just got it from Sonos Online Store last Friday. I am very happy with it, but when repositioning it before running TruePlay, I noticed that while grabbing it, I could hear a somewhat loud creaking noise in the left part of it. Found out that the seam on the bottom of the Arc is not flush but rubbing, causing the creaking.Already arranged an advance replacement with Sonos, but I wonder how common are these kind of issues. One other doubt: does anyone of you used the advance replacement? Is the replacement unit a new, retail unit? Sonos representative said so. Thank you in advance for your input.
I have a sonos connect. I can either:a: have my flac files on plex and play them through sonosb: use the sonos app on the mini to add those files to my music library and play from there.I've had some issues with b since i think the sampling rate on some of the files is not supported by sonos. However using plex to transcode seems to work for all music files. Is there any issue with going through plex vs. the sonos music library in terms of sound quality?
Hi, Anyone else wishing for a self powered in ceiling / in wall speaker without the need for a separate amplifier? Wouldn’t it be nice to just connect a power cord hidden in the ceiling and be done with the install and not have to run speaker cables across the entire house to where an amplifier can be placed?/ Martin
