I am looking for a high quality DAC/Preamp that will play nicely with Sonos. In particular, it would be great if it was “Works with Sonos” certified. I see based on that site, that the Onkyo, Pioneer Elite, and Integra A/V receivers have this capability. However, those are way overkill in terms of features for my 2 channel setup and often have less than stellar DAC chip implementations anyway.Quite by accident I discovered that Meridian actually integrates “works with sonos” in their high end Dac / Digital preamps - which is great! But before I go buy one of their units, are there any other similar “high end” vendors that also integrate with Sonos?
When will Sonos release rear speakers (one sls) that have upfiring drivers for Atmos? Samsung has dropped the Samsung Q990B which has this AND DTS support. Sonos needs to step up on this because the samsung set is cheaper and better quality Atmos now. Ive been pricing it out all year to purchase at christmas but if they don’t come out with at least upfiring rear speakers before boxing day Im going with the samsung.
I am trying to run my Amazon firestick through my LG TV into my Sonos Arc and still have the ability of using my audio receiver. I can pair my TV with the arc and plugging in my firestick into the back of the tv. No problem but then i have nothing with my receiver. I plug the firestick into the receiver and lose the tv connection with my Sonos arc. Is there the ability to use both? Any help would be appreciated
Has anyone else experienced a loss of output signal from their Connect following the software update on November 4, 2022? Mine worked fine for six years until the update. This appears to be deliberate. After five hours with various support folks, failed return requests etc. they suggested that I just go buy a new one.
Hi, there.I have a Beam gen2 and one Play3. I want to create surrounding system and I’m thinking i need another speaker to do it . can you guys give me some advices about it? I’m considering to buy another Play3 for the surrounding, but it cost a little bit much. Thanks
Hello,I have a CD transport connected via the Sonos optical-to-HDM adapter to the HDMI input on my Sonos Amp. This works great (and allows me to control the Amp volume with the CD transport’s remote control) but it’s odd to see this input called ‘TV’ in the Sonos app. I understand this is the primary intended use case for the HDMI input but I can’t be the only person using the optical-to-HDMI connection to get a digital audio input into the Amp. Please Sonos: Could we have an option to rename the HDMI input to a custom name in the app, like you can with the RCA input?
I’m looking to create a home cinema set up, I already have two play 1’s, a Roam, and a Play 5. I’d like to mount the projector on my ceiling if possible, so ideally I’d be able to broadcast video from my laptop to the projector wirelessly, and audio from the projector/laptop to the sonos system. Two questions: Which product I can purchase (playbar?arc?beam?) to use with a projector in this manner? What properties would the projector need to have? Thanks for your help.
As stated, I'm just trying to add the Google assistant to my Sonos arc. When I'm in the app, it has me sign in, then redirects to Google home. Cool. Google home wants me to sign in to Sonos. Ok? It redirects me to the website. I log in and the Sonos website says the Sonos app needs to update with 2 buttons. Go to Sonos App or I've fixed the problem. The first option does what it says, the Sonos app comes back up but it's currently trying to link with Google. I can try again or cancel. If I try again, please start reading this paragraph again. If I cancel, I can go check for updates. Checking both the devices individually and the system itself says there's no updates available and the versions appear to be the latest version. Back to where the Sonos website tells me I need to update, if I choose I've fixed the problem, it just refreshes the page. So. That's where I'm stuck.Everything else works fine, I can stream music via the app itself, I can use Bluetooth, I can use the HDMI with my
I have a digital-only preamp and would like to play vinyl through my system. If I connect my record player to the analog in on my ZP80, I cannot get it to pass through to my digital preamp, even though the preamp can see a connection. Do I need to do any special config to get the ZP80 to input an analog source via RCA and then output it to the toslink connector? Thanks in advance!
including turning off tv speakers, i just got arc and sub. set was a breeze but i did have to use the optical cable. set up went fine played tv ok, switched to spotify ok. in the evening turned on tv and sound was skipping. turned set off and next morning I did a reset, after reset tv (regular cable and streaming) and spotify working ok. turned everything off for awhile then played spotify for a few hours. Went to TV (stream and regular cable) and skipping restarted. does anyone know what is causing this?
Morning all,In getting support on another Roam related question, I started to consider wifi strength and possible RJ45 connectivity. There are many devices out there that indicate that they are wifi only but in reality do support a wired connection e.g some Roku boxes, even my treadmill that has essentially an inbuilt android tablet in it.Adding a Ugreen usbc to RJ45 device can often introduce a wired link to replace a wireless one.Does anyone know if that is possible on a Roam unit?Reason to ask is that I’m off to a location that has notoriously poor wifi services but were rooms do have RJ45 ‘s outlets at the desk and room level. It could be a nice insurance policy.Very interested to hear if anyone explored that route. Many thanks
Just ordered a Pro-Ject Debut Turntable and I have TWO fives and I’d like to connect them both. What’s the best way of doing this? Do I connect the cable from the turntable to one of them and then link the other by Bluetooth?
I got a brand new pair of Sonos One SL’s only a month or two ago and have just had an ant colony error out from inside it. I’ve been in touch with Sonos and they’re denying me a replacement because they say ants aren’t mentioned in the warranty (lol, of course not..why would they be mentioned) and their other excuse is that besides the ants, the postal service won’t ship the speaker back because of the ants (what kind of a bizarre answer is that??) and therefore they won’t honour the speakers warranty. I’m actually quite shocked by the customer service I’ve received. I’m going to contact the ACCC and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. My wife is also in species discovery and has some friends who happen to specialise in ant identification (pure fluke but amazing) so hopefully I can get the species identified pretty quickly. I can see I’m not the first person to experience this issue, however Sonos appears to haveclosed the previous conversations down already. Anyo
Hello,I’m in the process of getting a new construction home built. I’m wondering if there would be any issues putting Sonos ceiling speakers ~18 inches away from a coffered ceiling similar to the coffered ceiling on the perimeter of the living room below image below? Does that give enough distance to avoid any issues? For context, my home layout is very similar to this open concept with the living room and kitchen / dining being an open space like the image below. Thank you!
Hi all.I currently have a Gen 2 Beam with Alexa voice control connected.Am I right in thinking that for 2 rear speakers, the One SL (pair) are identical in terms of performance, and having already got Alexa via the Beam, there would be no point in spending the extra money that a pair of One's would cost?!?Thanks in advance.. P.s. I plan to add a mini sub at some point after a pair of rear speakers to complete a surround set.
I have been reading a lot of comments about vibration on a Sonos beam. I was watching 6 Underground yesterday & yes the rattle/ vibration started. However it was nothing to do with the beam, it was the cables I had put under the TV stand that were vibrating against it. Removed them away from the stand & problem solved, thanks to my wonderful wife Wendy for spotting this. So check this first, you never know it might not be your brilliant beam.😃
Has anyone updated yet any idea what it does?
Moved into new house that came with sonos amps and wired speakers. All amp lights were white. I performed factory reset to add to my sonos system, and mute button flashes green with led off. When I press any button, mute button goes off and led is yellow. Continuously tell me me can’t find device. Can’t find the amp that I did not factory reset either. Any suggestions?
Salve, volevo sapere se era possibile abbinare 2 One SL ad un FIVE.Ps. Utilizzo l’app Sonos OS S2 vers. 14.18.1Grazie in anticipo
Hi- Amateur at bestI have an existing Beam Surround Set working on my HDMI-ARC input on my tv. Love it! I am considering upgrading to a projector and am looking at HDMI Multiview Switches to be able to watch multiple games simultaneously sometimes. The video part is straight forward; the audio I’m having problems.I haven’t found a multiview switch that would support surround sound from Sonos- I haven’t seen anything with HDMI-ARC. I believe that is needed for audio (is it even possible to get Atmos?), then an HDMI from the multiview switch to the projector.Open to all suggestion on products, thanks!
Hi all!Using Playbar, Sub Gen 2 and two Play 3s. If listening only 5.1 (no earc on TV), would be the same setup with Arc instead od Playbar be an upgrade?Thank youNeven
Hi,I’m delivering some training this week in a location with only basic facilities (projector onto wall) and the presentation has some audio files. Can I use the Sonos One I have at home as the audio for my pc laptop? If that’s impossible/horrible I will also have an ipad/iphone with me, so would a kludge be to run the powerpoint on ios at the same time as from my pc laptop and just airplay the audio at the relevant time? There’s no video to worry about being in sync with, the relevant slides are audio-only. I’ve no adaptor to *just* run the whole thing from the ipad.
There are a couple of old topics relating to this issue with several hundred views and no solution. I am sharing my fix for it. In the tags on the files, I replaced the space after the word The with a unicode non breaking space. This has done the trick for me. It makes the index show the band under T and all the search functions still work as you would expect. Changing the tags in MP3Tag is fairly quick if you have the files set up by artist. Just select the artist folder and change all the Artist and Album Artist tags to replace the regular space with the no-break space. After the changes are made run the Update Music Library Now function. The unicode no-break space is created in notepad by holding down the alt key and typing 0160. When the alt key is released the no-break space is created.
After a fair months with various issues, the main sources of which being:Wireless DECT baby monitor, replaced with an non DECT one DECT cordless home phones, never used so replaced with a basic phone just for line checks Neighbours mesh hopping networks and sometimes choosing same channel as my Sonos. I spoke with my neighbour who set a permanent channel and it has improved his experience too with their streaming etcI now have a fairly stable Sonosnet, I have also moved a couple of speakers around based on what I have learned over the last few months about causes of interference etc. Due to this movement I now have a Sonos Boost doing nothing. My network matrix is currently: Everything seems to be working as we want, local files, online streaming etc The two upstairs speakers that are red I have very limited options on where I can move them to and I cannot work out what is causing the interference, but they seem to be working as we like. However I have some questions:Would replacing
I can successfully connect to my Sonos system from my iPhone via Spotify but when I try to connect the phone’s current general audio output via AirPlay to Sonos, I get an AirPlay error “Unable to connect” with no other details. This has only started happening recently. I have tried all of the obvious things such as power cycling the speakers, modem, router and iPhone but this has not resolved the issue.
