It’s been 5 weeks since I was able to successfully connect to Airplay on my Play:5’s and three Play:1’s...all upstairs...all on the same wifi network. This worked until it didn’t. I’ve: Factory-reset all of the offending speakers, choosing different names than they were before. Completely reset my Orbi router and satellite and built the network up from scratch, including over 50 smarthome devices. Restarted every device on the network. Moved the devices that DON’T work downstairs to sit next to the devices that DO work. Moved the non-working speakers to every area of the house with a power outlet in an attempt to get a “better(?)” wifi connection. I have purchased two Boosts (one for the downstairs, the other for upstairs). It didn’t make Airplay work and even made network connectivity worse than before. (I have since disconnected both of those and continue to regret that purchase.) None of this brought me any joy even as Airplay continues to function perfectly on those speakers
I know this questions has been asked a couple of times in the past. I haven’t been able to locate a thread. I changed my wifi from ATT to Xfinity Wifi. Network name and password the same. Sonos App says it is unable to connect to sonos Fix it. I go through the steps to reconnect the playbar and the app continues to say “No System Found.” I have even plugged the playbar directly into the modem/router without success. Can someone point me to a thread or offer some assistance for a fix?
Hi All,I am based in the UK and have Sonos arc/sub/sirrounds with Samsung 55 Q9FN (2018) , SkyQ and 4k Blu-ray. I am getting the HD FURY Arcana but would like to hear what you think the best streaming device would be to get Dolby Atmos for Disney +. I can get DD5.1 warching Disney + from SkyQ and I can even get DD+ 5.1 through the Samsung TV app but no Atmos through either. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.
I just set up my Sonos Arc to my new LG NanoCell 90 tv which is the newest model that supports e-ark and it is not playing very well withh my apple tv 4k. I get sound on all of the apps except for Apple tv+. I have the Apple TV 4k set to Dolby Atmos and have it hooked up to my TV properly but no sound? When I change it to something besides Dolby Atmos I get sound but that defeats the purpose of the sounder and tv? Is anyone else having issues and know a fix? Oh, if I use the Apple TV+ app on the TV itself I can get Dolby Atmos sound with no problem but I would like to use the Apple TV 4k if possible for all my content. Thank
I recently swapped out my 2011 access point in my bedroom used for WiFi there, and I am seeing some Sonos anomalies. In the bedroom I have a Boost that is also root bridge, wired back to the main router in the common area, that has a Connect Amp also wired back to the same main router. I was using Airport Express in the bedroom, ethernet wire connected to the other ethernet jack on the Boost using the switch feature on Boost, to successfully obtain high speed WiFi in the bedroom - with the single band AEX set to work in access point mode, creating a 5 GHz network there. No issues with Sonos then, using either the phone or the Mac in the bedroom for control.I replaced said AEX using a dual band TP Link access point as a drop in replacement. Now, at times, the Connect Amp disappears from the Controller as well as from the Matrix. Getting it to reappear needs a Connect Amp reboot, that works for some time.I can’t see any logical reason for this - and when I brought the AEX back for a test,
Is it possible to use Beam as a computer speaker with the use of hdmi port?
Hello all,I got my Vizio oled setup today and was excited to finally get to hear dolby atmos content from my arc. No matter what settings I try I can't seem to get the arc to play dolby atmos. I am atreaming from the native TV apps and I have tried the UHD NETFLIX, Disney plus and Amazon prime. Im plugged into an E ARC port and I verified all the content I choose had an atmos sound trackAny help from you guys would be amazing
I am looking at the Patio/Garden series and had a few questions,Are the Patio satellite speakers the same as the Garden?I assume I need to get a connect or something similar to fold into my other sonos system, correct? If I am wanting to listen to what is on the outdoor TV, do I just connect the optical out from the TV to the optical in on the amp? and will i be able to pair that with other connects i have throughout the house?I have noticed some of Patio versions on sale and could get two of them for the price of one Garden, bonus would be an extra sub, but getting back to my outdoor TV sound question, would I be able to pair the two Patios connects together to listen to what is on the outdoor tv. Thanks!
I’m considering the switch to sonos, but not sure if it will fit my use case.I would like to setup a whole home audio system that incorporates some of the existing speakers (the “height” speakers specifically) in my home theatres (2), without having to go through the expensive proprietary systems like Control4.My question is if sonos ports would work if used between an audio processor (receiver), and dedicated amplifiers via RCA preouts.Do the ports create a bunch of latency when directly connected via RCA? Thanks in advance.
Hi, i have a Sonos Arc and an LG Nanocell tv. I originally connected to eArc through the tv but now i can't reconnect it. I can only connect via bluetooth. I have reinstalled the app and havent changed the hdmi cable. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi All,just wanted some recommendations for good HDMI Cables - have Sonos Arc and will be getting HD Fury Arcana to enable as much Dolby Atmos viewing as possible from sources such as Sky Q / 4k Blu-ray / Roku 4k etc..Thanking you in anticipation,Jan.
Hi, hoping someone might be able to help.we purchased a new Sony tv this year and we have connected our playbar and our play 3 to the tv. All was going fine until one day we turned on tv and there was no sound through the Sonos.I had to switch the speakers back to tv speakers and I haven’t been able to get Sonos to play sound through tv since. When I do have the audio speakers selected on the tv and I turn the volume up and down with the report it does change the volume settings in the Sonos app. So even tho there is no sound the tv and the Sonos app are still connect some how. I can also play music through the Sonos app to the speakers. So I know the speakers work fine. I can recall a recent Sony update- but I can find any evidence to show that might be the reason for the drop out. any suggestions welcome. Thank you!!
Stereo pair no longer works. I have a left and right channel, plus the Sonos sub. Currently, only the left speaker and the sub will work. The weird thing is, I know the right speaker is connected and on the network. I know this because I can talk to it via Alexa, give it commands to play, pause, and I can touch the physical buttons on the speaker as well, and those work to pause, skip songs, etc.The problem is there is just no audio coming out of that right speaker. I have already gone through unpairing, repairing, separating, joining them back together, Etc. What is causing this, and how do I prevent it from happening ever again? It's been going on for a couple of weeks now.
I have the following setup: Apple TV 4k Projector connected to Apple TV via HDMI in back of room Sonos Beam and Sub in front of room under screen 2 Sonos Ones in back of room The above Sonos products are grouped together I connect Apple TV to my Sonos system wirelessly given the locations of the equipment Problem(s): Every single time I turn on Apple TV, the audio settings revert to HDMI and I have to unselect and reselect my Sonos system deep in settings. Sometimes when I do this, the selection does not work, and the volume continues to come out of the projector speakers. I’ve recently noticed that my Sonos system will work for certain Apple TV apps and not others (i.e. HBO, Hulu, Netflix work through Sonos, but system sounds, like scrolling, and other apps, like TruTV, default to the HDMI). Does anyone know of a workaround or solution for these three likely interrelated issues? Thanks!
Configuration: Apple TV (ATV) 4K → LG C9 oled eARC→ Sonos Arc In the ATV Atmos is switched on, LG is set to passthrough, bitstream When I play an Atmos movie from the Netflix app in the ATV I get Atmos from the Sonos ARC with the Atmos logo showing in the Sonos app. When I play an Atmos enabled movie from the Apple movies app the sound is marked as Stereo 2.0 in the Sonos app and some audio channels seem to me missing in action as all e.g. speech is missing and only some surround is heard. Turning off Atmos support (but not changing the export format) in the ATV does not help. Only when I force the output in the ATV to DD 5.1 I get 5.1 surround from the Sonos Arc. Is this happening because the Atmos sound is differently embedded in the Apple movies compared to the Netflix movies? Is there a solution? Who should I blame? Apple movie because of their Atmos coding or the Sonos Arc because it does not support the Apple movies Atmos format? (off topic but just to ventilate my f
Hello.Getting really frustrated with the ARC. I have Sky Q 2tb box. An LG OLEDB8 so no earc. Lip sync issues. I have tried the delay settings in the arc and the sky box but they are all plus.. I need a minus 20ms delay or something, You buy a £700 soundbar something like this should be easily fixable. thanks
Hello, I’m confused. I was in the understanding LPCM is not (yet) supported by the Arc. Well, I just hooked everything up to my new LG CX (with eArc). When playing a movie with Dolby TrueHD or DTS(-HD MA) through Infuse on the Apple TV 4K which by default converts everything to LPCM, the “About My System” page in the Sonos App shows the following. It says “Dolby Multi-Channel PCM 5.1” and of course I can hear the sound as well. I’m just confused about the “Dolby” part. Isn’t the whole purpose of LPCM that it isn’t Dolby or DTS. What am I missing? **Moderator Note: Please censor personal information if posting pictures.**
My system currently consists of a Synology NAS + [Sonos Connect + Lindemann DAC + Creek Destiny amplifier] + B&W CM7. I am thinking of going minimalist by replacing three components in the bracket with a Sonos Amp. I know that specs-wise the Sonos Amp is powerful enough to drive my CM7, but I am not quite sure of its musicality, i.e. sound stage, balance, details, etc. when compared with my DAC & Destiny setup. I have read the forum and found a few reviews on Sonos Amp and floorstanders but it does not seem to be a very popular setup. Any insight and experience on this matter is much appreciated.
Hello,This is my first question to the community. Hoping to get some answers and that it’s a simple solve.I recently purchased a Beam and connected it to my new Samsung TV. Took me a few tries but realized that connecting the Bean to the HDMI (ARC) port was the way to go. The Beam worked great for streaming services (Movies & Audio) and I was extremely pleased with the quality of sound. The problem arose when I connected my Optimum Cablebox to the TV (using HDMI) and there was no audio coming from the Beam while watching TV through the Cablebox. Picture and everything else works fine.I checked audio settings on the cable box - Double checked settings on the TV and still nothing. My guess is that there is something simple that I’m missing here…Cable is connected to the TV via HDMI. Beam is connected to the HDMI (ARC) port on the TV.Any thoughts? Thanks!
Our Sonos system is not outputting any audio from our streaming tv apps, but still playing music just fine from Spotify. How do I troubleshoot?
I have a Sonos Arc, Sub (gen 3) and a pair of OneSL speakers. Connected to an LG C9 OLED TV with eARC enabled. Much Dolby 5.1 content (specifically e.g. Friends on Netflix and Iron Man 2 on Disney+ but there is more) has inaudible dialog when played from an Apple TV 4K. Dolby Atmos is fine. Also the same content is fine when played from the television’s in-built Netflix and Disney+ apps. My previous soundbar, also eARC, was fine so it seems to be something to do with the Arc. Can anyone else try this and let me know if you have the same problem? Anyone have any suggestions?
Looking to connect an Epson projector to a pair of Sonos 5 speakers via wireless network. Is there any particular wireless transmitter that would be recommended.
Hi All, I have an old plasma LG tv with someting called SIMPLINK that is its like HDMI Arc but when setting up the TV it doesn’t work with HDMI. So I have to use optical cable, is this why I am only getting 2.0 in About my System settings in the app? I dont think the voices come from the middle speaker in any setup so I am not getting the best out of the product. I am using an android box to watch Netflix and YouTube but I can’t get 5.1 sound (virtual), how do I improve the set up?
Hi All,I had a few drop outs recently and decided to look at my network matrix. I saw I had some RED boxes on the left so I changed the one ethernet hard-wired speaker to be the left of a stereo pair rather than the right. This speaker is more central in the house and I read on the community that it was actually better to hard wire the left one rather than the right one. This seemed to resolved the red box issue. However, I noticed some other issues in the network matrix which I am hoping the community can help me understand and resolve if necessary. I have included a picture of my network matrix and listed my issues below:I have more items along the top than down the side. I have a two “undefined” items along the top. One with a very similar MAC address to my Lounge BEAM and the other to my pool room PLAYBAR (just the last digit of the MAC address is different in each case). I have tried rebooting the router, turning off the Sonos speakers etc. What appeared to work at first
I’m considering a new 48” TV for my place in the mountains, but it would have to be wall mounted with a swivel-tilt bracket - likely a Vogel 545 low profile mount. Searching these conversations I found a reference to a Sanus mount. I also found a universal mount on Amazon.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IEM6DBG/?coliid=I6VJ88FDR77JW&colid=34AKTPL83OREB&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_itHas anyone successfully hung their Beam underneath a wall mount TV? And with what?
