I’ve noticed that for many issues regarding SONOS Play 1 (all software updates in place), it seems to constantly come down to the same instruction “Reboot your router”.  Rebooting a router is inconvenient and disruptive - especially when ALL other things connected to it work perfectly, consistently and reliably.  I don’t like having to reboot the router unless say there’s a fundamental internet issue, you’re left questioning why?  

Yesterday while playing a station on Sonos Five which was initiated via a request through my Amazon Echo, the station would not stop. I had to touch the Pause button on the Five. Today, I found that any request to play Sonos via Alexa Echo or Alexa App will not play anything. In troubleshooting I removed the skill, added it back in, removed the group and added it back in, removed the devices and re-discovered, rebooted everything. All firmware is up to date. Up until yesterday all had been good.Right now on the Alexa app I have the Sonos skill enabled and the Sonos Five enabled. I have no Alexa groups. I can play on the Sonos Five via the Sonos app. I can play on the Echo via a Alexa voice request to the Echo or via the Alexa App.  I can request Alexa to play to my Sonos Five via voice request to the Echo. It is acknowledged but no sound comes out. I can request The Sonos Five to Play via the Alexa App, but it does not start playing and does not show the playing bar on screen.I am not

I have a Sonos Play:1, a Sonos One, and a Roam. The first two have been on my Wi-Fi for years now. The Roam is new. Because of the Roam, I switched from the S1 to the S2 app on my iPhone. When I did that, I lost my whole system. I don’t mind so much because all of my playlists are via connected services. My problem is that now I can only get the Roam to connect to my Wi-Fi. I’ve gone through the various articles and asked the Sonos bot. I’ve successfully connected them to my router via ethernet, but cannot connect them to the Wi-Fi from there.  I’ve reset both speakers to factory settings. I’ve rebooted my router (both in the order prescribed in various Sonos support articles). The Wi-Fi connection still fails. At one point, I got my Play:1 to connect to the Wi-Fi, but it would not appear on the system tab of the S2 software. That time, my router software showed all items connected, but the Sonos software said differently.My latest attempts have been all after I have a successful wired

I have had successful alexa and sonos integration for some time. Multiple ‘native’ alexa devices (spots, fireTV) and multiple sonus devices (tv sound bar & sonos 5’s) and a mixed sonos move device. Everything worked fine until a few days ago -- when I ask alexa to play my flash briefing I get time and day then “here is your flash briefing” then silence. Similarly when I ask alexa to shuffle my spotify playlist I get “Here is music from spotify” and then silence. I have powered down/up, logged out of amazon/alexa accounts and back in, deregistered services and re-registered,...still nothing.

I’ve got the Arc, the Sub, and the Amp working with my TV. I’ve got a Five in my kitchen I’d line to add in so I can hear the TV when I’m cooking. Is this possible? 

I have 4 out of my five requiring an update along with the app stating the app needs an update. After over 10 attempts to install, reinstalling the app, switching off all devices inc router, nothing is working. Any ideas folks ? 

My Roam has mostly worked for months but not won’t play music with Alexa to Prime or Spotify.  It says it is playing but it does not.   I have spent  hours removing and reinstalling apps but nothing has helped.  I have rebooted my network and the device a dozen times and that has not helped.   All my true Alexa devices work well.  This is very frustrating.  People have better things to do than fight with technology while support just takes the whole weekend off while users are frustrated.

Hi,I’ve got a Sonos One that I purchased 3-4 years ago (roughly).  So I’ve owned it since new and never had issues updating when new updates were available.  Running Windows 10 with the current Sonos software update.  I have omitted the IP address, but it is there and correct.  The progress bar for the for the software update completes… then displays the following message:  The Sonos controller installer failed to download.  I have turned off Windows Firewall and my anti-virus… still no resolve.  As a side note, my Sonon One is working, but a little quirky at the moment.  I primarily use it for listening to music.  Sometimes it will play requested iHeartRadio stations, and sometimes it will just stay silent after a request.  Same with Pandora stations.  Any help would be appreciated. Associated Product: 192.XXX.X.X---------------------------------Sonos One: KitchenSerial Number: 78-28-CA-13-99-A6:DVersion: 11.1 (build 56076060)Hardware Version: 1.21.1.8-1Series ID: A100IP Address: 192.

Hi!  I just purchased 2 fives and would like to be able to use the line-in port to play cds with my Sony CMT-SX7.I already connected the 3.5mm to one of the 2 fives and the RCA (red and white) to the back of the CD player. However no sound is coming out from either five (set up as stereo). Is this the right setup or am I missing a step? Photos attached.Also, the setup in the Sonos app looks complete and whenever I play a cd, the Sonos app shows there is signal (the wave icon moves up and down) even though I have no sound at all. Any advice is highly appreciated. 

We really need a way to control a Sonos outside the home wifi. I went into holidays and I forgot to remove the alarm I had every day. My dad came to my house for one week and has to wake up everyday to turn Sonos off! I don’t understand that basic features like removing alarms cannot be done outside wifi. 

Recently got the Sonos Beam (Gen2). Bit annoyed that it requires an app to setup. An app that demands to know my location otherwise refuses to load. But anyway…I setup the speaker, plugged in a mix of cables to get my TV connectedBeam > HDMI (included) > Optical adapter (included) > Aux converter (my own) > TVEverything worked great. We were watching TV and I deleted the app.Next day, I turn on the TV and there is no sound. The Beam has a solid white light and if I press the Play button it flashes orange. I re-downloaded the app, turned the speaker off and on, wiggled some of the cables… not sure what i did but it started working again. If I press the Play button it goes from a White light to a Green light, muting or unmuting the sound. All seems well. I deleted the app again… I don’t want it.Next day. I turn on the TV and there is no sound. We’re back to White/Orange lights.What am I doing wrong here? I just want to plug my TV into this speaker and have sound. Do I have to

Hello,I upgraded to v11.4 and the latest MIUI of my phone but it doesn’t find my Play5 S1 any more.Is there something I could try out? Adding a new system to the App doesn’t work. Does it it need some particular rights? Redmi Note 10 Pro, Android 12 (MIUI 13.0.3), Sonos S1 11.4: KOMoto X4, Android 9, Sonos S1 11.3: OKMoto X4, Android 9, Sonos S1 11.4: OKUnofficial Linux client: OK 

New Apple iOS can’t find Sonos speakers.  Anyone have a fix?

Is it possible to “tune” a Sonos Radio station? I don’t see a thumbs up/down, but does skipping a song or adding it to your library affect the future selection for that station for me?  

I upgraded the controller yesterday to 14.6 (mac) and now my Sonos Five won’t connect. I have two other Sonos Ones that are connecting no problem.I tried factory resetting and reconnecting. That *worked* for completing the in-app process, but then at the last step it said something like “Your new device may not appear in System; if so, unplug and replug it back in.”It didn’t appear; I did unplug and replug; it still does not appear in the app.This is very frustrating. Any idea what’s up and how to fix it?

Sonos Play 1’s work fine with ALL music sources EXCEPT when trying to play music, or video, etc, via YouTube on my living room tv.  The playbar connected to the tv works, but ALL of the Play 1’s thru the house drop the sound repeatedly. However if I play a tv program the sound does NOT drop, its ONLY when using YouTube on my tv. Is there a fix for this? I see this topic in forums back in 2017 but I cant find an answer or fix. Thanks!

I bought a house with some older Sonos products: Playbar and two Play:1 speakers setup as surround sound for a TV, two other Play:1 speakers each in different room, and two Connect Amps, each driving a separate set out outdoor speakers.  I added a Beam and two ONESL speakers as another surround system and another pair of ONESLs stereo paired.Before I drop $450 on a Port, I need to understand how it would work.  I would ethernet it into my network in the equipment room where the two connect Amps are.Can I just do that and then be able to Airplay through it to the older Sonos speakers and Connect Amps over the network?  If so, how do I do that and be able to control which speakers are used for the Airplay output from the Port?  Or does Port need to be physically connected to an output?  Sonos support info seems to imply that but other things I read indicate the Port can play to other Sonos speakers.  If so, how? 

Bought a Sonos Arc today and came home to set it up. Went through the setup instructions provided by GuitarSuperstar here:The setup went smoothly except that the “Select HDMI Input Audio Format” option is greyed out and I can’t change it to ‘Bitstream’ as instructed - it’s still set at ‘PCM’.  Not sure where to go with this.  :-/

I’ve got a Beam Gen 2 connected to an LG BX via eARC and an Xbox Series S, and I’m struggling to find a configuration that works well for both TV and Xbox content.If I set Digital Sound Out to “Auto”, TV content is great, but the Xbox will claim my setup doesn’t support Uncompressed 5.1 or 7.1. Dolby Digital can be selected but this unfortunately has a bad delay that seems to be either a widely known issue with the Xbox or a widely known issue with LGs depending on who you ask, so I can’t do much about this.If I set Digital Sound Out to “Passthrough”, I can use 5.1/7.1 on the Xbox with no delays, but then I have a problem with TV content where if I pause and resume anything, it takes a second or two for the sound to come back. No delay is introduced, just a break in the audio so I miss a few words and end up having to rewind a bit.Other settings: eARC = On, DTV Audio Setting = Auto, HDMI Input Audio Format = Bitstream.Any ideas where the problem is here and if there’s a combination of

Can Sonos Amp be used to add another zone to an Onkyo receiver system?   Will the Sonos Amp have access to all the inputs of the Onkyo receiver?Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.Thank you.

Hello,I had a Samsung soundbar as well as an Alexa Echo in my living room.  Among other things, I used my Echo to announce when one of my Ring cameras detected motion.I replaced both the soundbar and the Echo with a Sonos Arc, and I have Alexa integration enabled on it. However, I don’t seem to be able to make it so the Ring camera motion announcements would also go through Alexa on the Arc just like it used to on my Echo.  When in the Alexa app, I select the camera I want to hear motion announcements from, but I cannot see/select the Arc to play it.I am correct in thinking that it doesn’t work that way?I searched but didn’t see a clear answer.Thanks!

My Beam does not appear in the Products in system settings. If I add the PlayOnes it disappears. I am logged in. I tried all things mentioned in this post about turning of private network, etc.:  I have iOS 15.4.1; The Sonos app is 14.6 build 68228040  

I’m debating adding two One SLs as surrounds to my Sonos Beam 2.After I add the two surrounds, does this improve the audio of the Sonos Beam 2 by redirecting some of the previous channels the Beam was outputting to the new surrounds and therefore widening the soundscape of the Beam 2?Or does the Beam 2 continue outputting the same audio as before the surrounds and the surrounds simply get extra sounds not present before?Just wondering if adding the surrounds further improves the audio quality coming out of the Beam 2 basically.

Hi all,On my Sonos App both on the Mac and the iPhone I had all of my Artists, Albums, Songs, etc. under Music Library. I ripped a couple of CDs and added those to my iTunes library and then ran the Update Music Library Now function. After I did that I now only have two artists under the Music Library, with the entire iTunes collection is now labeled as ‘Imported Playlists’. How do I get the Artists, Songs, Albums, etc. out of the Imported Playlists and under the Music Library like it was prior?My iTunes library is running on a Synology NAS. All has been working fine until yesterday.Any thoughts or suggestions would be great.Thanks,Ed

Hello, I am having an issue securing my Sonos speakers in a commercial tourism environment.  I currently have 2 Sonos One speakers and am looking to add about 7 - 10 more speakers to the system.I have them on their own separate password protected wifi but guests with the Sonos app are still able to find the speakers and screw around with things like volume controls and pairing settings.  We see hundreds of guests a day and have a wine lounge and bar so some guests get antsy with the music after a drink or two.  Here is my set up: Running a Ubiquiti Unifi Network with 4 separate wifi networks:3 are secured networks1 is a public guest access channel used for guest access (required for marketing, etc). Networks are:Guest (open to internet for guest access, metered, email authenticated)Music (for Sonos exclusively, secured, not discoverable)Staff (for staff, connection to server, firewall protected server)Payment terminal gateway (for credit card machines, etc, third party firewall protect
