Need some help or ideas here. since a view days I see the following.Turn on TV and sound go to ARc as expectedTurn off TV and sound stops as expected but when I tell in app to play some music (Spotify or so) System telling the it’s still sitting on TV audio (TV is off!) As I also use Home Assistant I can see the ARC in mode playing while TV is off and nothing else is streaming at that time.Spotted the issue asks (turn on radio) button in Home Assistant stopped working which makes sense when TV is playing ( TV is still off)Had a longer chat with German Sonos Helpdesk today and they came back to tell me „That’s the standard“I told it can’t be standard as also the ARC don’t go to sleep (power safe) anymore even nothing is playing. This is also monitored by Home Assistant. ideas, help, anything?  

Sonos Roam - Alexa Voice Assistant doesn't recognize smart devices. I saw that the Alexa services were down until yesterday but the status shows that it is back up and it is still not working. I am quite disappointed with the Sonos Roam; I was very excited to get my first Sonos product. However, the setup has been so tedious, so many issues with making the device just play some music from my phone. And, the secondary reason why I bought this product was because it would be Alexa-enabled, even that doesn’t work.  Honestly, if it doesn’t work soon, I plan to return this product.

Is there some kind of protection that wont allow people in my house to randomly connect to my speakers because my brother is always connecting to my sonos speakers but i hate it i only want that i can connect to it.

I recently purchased a Sonos Five speaker and have been streaming through VOX music player app on iPhone.  I have all of my music uploaded in VOX.  I get random static when when streaming through the VOX app but not so far when I stream through Apple Music or Amazon Music app.  Does anyone else use VOX to stream to Sonos and have a similar issue?  Someone in Sonos support told me that VOX isn’t supported on Sonos but VOX website says otherwise.  Here’s the link...https://vox.rocks/sonos-support.Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

I have old Play5 and One in my system. Apple TV, Sonos and IOS are all using the latest software versions. Every single device has been turned on and off many times and Bluetooth on/off too. All use the same 2.4 ghz wifi network. All devices within one meter of each other. Tried also to reset Sonos and create the Sonos system from scratch. Playing from Iphone works fine. Strange thing is that when Apple TV was connected to 5 ghz network, Sonos showed up in Airplay. But refused to work obviously as my Sonos can connect only in 2.4 ghz network. Now in 2.4 ghz network, Sonos is not showing up in Airplay at all.I have read the other discussions, tried everything I could find there. The problem persists.

I used to have my Alexa set up to default play to my Sonos speaker but recently something has changed and i now need to always say ‘in the kitchen’.  Does anyone know how or if I can change it back to default play on Sonos?Thanks

I purchased my Sonos Connect in November 2018.  It has gradually got more and more disinterested in living.  I have read that the Sonos Connect is being phased out in favour of the Connect Amp and that Connect is out of support and basically you’re pish out of luck if you have one.  Is this the case or should I expect my Connect to still function in the way it was always intended?I have a Project cd box s2 and T1 Turntable connected to a Stereo Box S Phono amp which is in turn connected to the Sonos Connect which then pushes the music to two Play 5 gen 2’s which are wall mounted.We have an Alexa which plays to the play 5s.The Sonos Connect now flashes white and is very difficult to connect.  Why might this be?   

I have a beam connected to optical on TV. Remote was paired and everything was working fine. One day remote volume control stopped working. I tried to set up the remote again but the IR sensor did not recognize when buttons were pushed. Tried a different remote and it didn't recognize that either. I can still control volume with the app but IR sensor does not seem to receive any signal. Any suggestions?

So, I’m moderately savvy enough to be able to figure a lot of this stuff out, but sometimes I simply miss things and wanted to see if I could figure out some help with a handful of things.  I have a Samsung TV with regular arc, just had my Sonos Arc delivered and with a little trouble initially, got it set up. Everything now looks and sounds great, but when I went to snag some of the One SL speakers to optimize my living room, I’ve run into some snags.  Originally I was getting Stereo only, but with a lot of messing around, got a semblance of surround which I’m not sure is actual surround, but just a mirrored signal from  the surround speakers. I’m using an HDMI switcher to try to keep a slew of systems and units set up, which I have bypassed as a troublesome middleman and have, at this point, tried connecting my Xbox Series X directly to the TV, with the arc in HDMI port 3 going to the Sonos bar itself. I have two Play:1 and one Sonos Move. The move is requiring an update, but I’m getting an Error Code 30 every time I try. I’ve tried unplugging the router (and all other WAPs), then powering down the Sonos Move, then rebooting the router, and turning the Move back on - and that still has not worked. Any other tips?

When I ask Alexa to play a radio station or an artist it recognises the request and replies, eg ‘playing xx from Global Player’ or ‘shuffling songs by...’ but then silence. I can play these fine through the speaker using the app. If I ask a straight forward question eg what’s the weather forecast Alexa replies correctly. Does anyone know what the issue is with the music and radios? 

My Sonos system has stopped playing BBC Radio stations. It registers the various stations when I select one but will not play when I hit the play button. It plays other stations, eg Classic FM ok.Any ideas anyone?

Hello everyone,I am the victim of a problem that made me go to war with my internet provider for almost 2 years.For two years, I suffered untimely internet cuts which were actually because of my SONOS product.Let me explain, I have two SYMFONISK sound systems which are placed too far from each other, suddenly the wireless connection was difficult to make (although it worked from time to time, but there had too much cut).So I decided to connect them both to an ethernet outlet.After an umpteenth internet outage, my provider decided to come and change my box and from then on, I no longer had internet when I plugged in my two switches (my first sound system was connected to switch 1 and my second sound system was connected to my switch 2).But the craziest thing is that when I connected my switch 1 to the internet and disconnected my switch 2, I still had internet on my switch 2! Hi, all. I have a Sonos Move. I have trouble playing via the Spotify app. I can generally get it to play via Spotify now, but I have to go through a very awkward process: after I try and fail to play through Spotify once, I have to hold the power button on the speaker for about 10 seconds (speaker won't turn off otherwise after trying to play music from Spotify) then I can use speaker as normal using Spotify. Can you tell me how I can avoid having to do this painful process every time I want to use my speaker? Thanks

Hello. I am moving from a house  to an apartment. In the house I have a stereo system and a home theatre with a 5.1 AV receiver. In the apartment I will only be able to have one system. I could go with an ARC with Sonos sub and surrounds. But I do like my stereo speakers. If I went with a Sonos AMP and add the Sonos sub and surrounds will I miss too much by not having a centre speaker? 

I have used Sonos for a long time and, previously, would set an Amazon Music playlist to repeat overnight via my Play:One, i.e., ocean waves.Once I upgraded to Sonos One, the playlist fails to repeat and the queue clears itself as if it never played.I phoned Sonos support and the tech observed that a track which was fast forwarded to its end repeated. They “taught” me to use the repeat function and closed my case.The internet and power are fine, btw.  Software is 14.4.  Any ideas?  

Hello, I bought my Sonos (5.1 with 2 play3) 5y ago from the UK and all has been working great.However, for a few days now, I started hearing this static noise from the playbar. I don’t hear it when sound is on, but when Tv is off is like having a constant tinnitus in the ears. How can i get rid of this. Diagnostic: 1899576103 I now live in Japan (since 2018), which support yo contact if i bought the system in the UK.Thank you

Hi,I have a very simple system that works fairly well: 2 Roam speakers connecting to an Asus mesh system with two nodes (the one wires to fios router and one satellite node).  It works fine when the speakers are indoors but the speakers start to drop when I go outdoors.  I gather it’s due to a relatively poor wifi signal BUT I noticed that the speakers connect only to the wifi signal coming from the router that’s hardwired to the Fios router, even though the other node is much much closer to the speakers.  Q: Is there any way to force the Roam to connect to the nearest node?Thanks in advance,Frank

Unable to play M4a files (AAC Audio file), however they play fine in iTunes. Tracks are skipped until MP3 file is found that will then play fine. please help 🙏.

The last time someone asked why there are no release notes for S1 updates, the answer was that there was nothing new to report.The last available release notes are for version 11.2.6. My current system version is 11.3 (so clearly, there was either a change larger than those between compatibility 11.2.4 & 11.2.6--or the numbering system is used wrongly), and now there is a new update available (I do not know to which version, and I cannot find a way of checking).This might be seen as petty, but the issue is important: past updates have broken system compatibility without announcing it clearly to the user. Sonos have decided to remove many system management options from the desktop app (I find it very user-unfriendly, as it is easier for me to perform more complex tasks on my desktop than on my phone), and so I am reliant on my phone to manage my Sonos system. Hey folks,I’ve got some Playlists and I’d like to add to them. Nothing earth shattering about that BUT, I’m on the Sonos2 app, on my iPhone, I go to the three dots of a song and it has “Add song to My Sonos” but no option to add to Playlists. Should I just delete the App and download a new one? Or is there something else that I’m missing? I added the Sonos Roam to my system about a month ago if that is relevant. Thanks.

Hello. I have a beam 2nd gen, sub 1, a pair of play 3s. It has been working fine until I noticed stuttering on just one of the play 3s. Regular music seems fine. I tried reboots, unplugging tv cables, arc. The fact that it used to work this morning and doesn't makes me worry it is an issue with the unit itself? I tried different output modes on the tv.  Had the issue with auto and direct. Dolby and dolby plus didn't seem to output through my surrounds properly so couldn't hear stutter. Everything is hard wired. Seems like the recommendations are to reboot routers and factory reset? But why just an issue with one speaker and not the others? Also if it is just atmos but music seems fine, maybe software?  

I’ve read a lot of posts regarding similar issues to mine but none identical. I have a classic Sonos surround set-up with the Beam, run from a Samsung TV on HDMI ARC, which works perfectly most of the time. However when viewing advert supported channels e.g. My5 and 4OD I get a loud buzzing from the Beam right channel toward the end of the advert sequence or when the programme restarts. It’s like there is a change in the audio coding used by the ads which triggers it and the only way to stop it is by power cycling the Beam. I submitted a diagnostics report hoping for some advice: 691378500.

After the latest Sonos update, my gf unplugged the Sonos One during the update thinking it was something wrong when thr led started to blinking and now the speaker makes a strange electronic sound and hangs up (almost like a broken record), and doesnt play any further.I have tried to factory set the speaker without any luck.   Have never experienced this before.Diagnostic: 35527183

I’m just now getting to understand how Sonos and Airplay work.   If I have an Airplay enabled Sonos device (“Device A”) and several older non-airplay Sonos devices:Can a create, say, Group 1 with Device A and Device B (non-airplay) and the Group 2 with Device A and Device C (non-airplay)?  (I tried this, it seems to work) How do I select which group will be airplayed?  So far, I can only Airplay through Device A alone OR Devices A, B, and C.  What am I missing?
