Hello: circumstances allowed me to acquire a new Sonos 5 , to enjoy with a single One SL. I have one listening room. Can I stand the 5 vertically ( like one would if using two 5s to create stereo) and connect it to the SL to play stereo? Or am I asking  the system to do something it wasn’t designed to do? Is it preferable to have the single 5 in stereo configuration and just add the SL and use Trueplay to optimize the sound? Thanks for any advice!

Hi.  Hoping someone has come across the same problem and fixed it. Current set up is a sonos beam and two ones as rears. TV is an LG OLED 65 C1 and it’s all connected through eArc. Have an Xbox series X connected and recently added a Nintendo Switch to the set up which has caused some issues. At first thought it was an issue with the switch to the tv to the sinks but have noticed the issues is now coming up on the Xbox as well. Basically no sound and any attempt at turning it up comes up a symbol on the screen like it’s been muted. If I turn the tv off, restart the sonos and the stars align then it will start working for both consoles but it’s not full proof.  Anyone got any ideas how to fix?  Moderator Edit: Added “Nintendo” for clarity

Any progress on having a sonos speaker combine with an Echo speaker to make a group?

I have three Play:1 speakers and one Move on my system that has worked fine until recently. Now it just takes forever to start, plays for 2 seconds then cuts out, will come back for a few seconds and then cut out again. The only time is works is when I play the KUVO jazz TuneIN station. So random. 

I have 2 x play 3 and a sub in my dining room is there a way of making it louder ? 

Hi all,Quick question: Sonos and spotify app are installed on an Ipad with internet. is the sound volume control (up /down) done via the internet of via de iPad ? what can cause a delay when turning the sound volume up or down?

We have a number of Sonos speakers, three of which use Google voice search. We each have our own Spotify user profiles and Google Assistant accounts, including my wife. For both of us, Google complies with commands to do things like switch on lights, and if we ask it "Who am I," it knows each of us by name. But for me, it only functions when I request music. It indicates that it doesn't understand for my wife. Using her Spotify app, she can effectively send music to Sonos, but voice commands are ineffective.

I was an early Sonos adopter and have a perfectly functioning system including a number of original Play 5 devices. As a result, I have never upgraded to the S2 operating system. I would now very much like to buy a Beam Gen2, but see that that requires S2.  However, having set the beam up, i hope that I would actually need to control it with anything other than the to standard remote control.  considering this, is it possible to continue running my S1 system in the house, but set up the beam to run independently as a to speaker only?Thank in advance of any advice you can provide..   

I can paly several other radio stations from NRK / Norwegain broadcaster, but not my favorite.I tries on Sonons radio, radioplayer and NRK radio - non is working for NRK P1 / NRK P1 Stor-Oslo.  

Over the last year the Arc sometimes loses sound.  If I unplug the HDMI, sounds comes on the tv.  I have to unplug and reset the Arc to get it to working again.  Now this is happening atleast twice a week.  Anyone having this issue and a resolution?

Yesterday around 21:40, the Sonos Roam bugged started making a very intense loud and weird repetitive sound and was impossible to turn off by the application.Is there anyway to check the system as the device is bran new. thanks.

I have just moved house having had my sonos system work well before.  Previously I had Virgin Media as my ISP and was using a Google Mesh to share the wifi around the house.I’ve moved and taken the mesh with me and now use BT as my ISP.  The Google Mesh uses exactly the same network name and password, but I cannot get my Sonos to connect.If I connect one directly to either the BT router or the Google Mesh router via Ethernet cable, I can see that and use it on my account, but none of the other speakers connect at all.One suggestion I’ve seen is that having both mesh and smart hub as DHCP causes an issue, but I can’t make the hub a modem only device.  I need to use the google mesh through the house as the signal won’t reach otherwise.BT have changed the wifi signal from their router to 2.4GHz which has helped, but it is not having any effect.Any ideas and suggestions would be great!!  It’s all getting rather frustrating. (edited to correct spelling)

We have our tv Woking with our ray sound bar but no sound via our speakers and sub.

Recently I am running into an issue with a sonos roam. Playback is stopping as the wifi is unstable. I have changed nothing in my system and the roam worked perfectly before. All speakers except the roam and move are on sonosnet. I have moved a mesh speaker to beside the roam but that didn't help. The other roam and move both work perfectly. Diagnostics report is 1701542254

I own a Beam, 2 x One’s and a mini-sub. Does anyone have a suggestion regarding using whether to position the One’s on either side of the Beam located in front immediately below the TV vs locating the One’s in back next to the couch as surrounds and using the Beam for all of the front sound projection?thanks n advance! 

Hello, I am based in FranceI succeeded to have my beam connected to my wifi routeur from freeboxI changed to Orange box but I have pbI made sure to have a wifi on 2,4ghz antenna from my Orange box wifiBut I can not succeed to have the beam connected in wifiIt only works when my Beam is connected to my orange box with an Ethernet cable …Could you help ?Thanks

Hello, I’m hoping you can provide me with a suggestion for how to make my projector play through my Sonos system. I don’t have a Sonos product that accepts audio in, but I want to make sure I purchase the correct Sonos product that will allow this to work. My projector does not have any audio output let alone an eARC output. Therefore, I have to use an HDMI spitter that separates the audio so that I can pull the audio from the streamed movie (usually through Chromecast) to a speaker that accepts audio in. But what I would like to do is be able to take that audio into some Sonos product and play it through all my Sonos speakers. Is that possible, and will I need the HDfury Arcana, eARC adapter to make that happen?Thank you for your help!

I recently bought a Sonos amp and have no problem using Apple Airplay from my Mac and iPhone.  I also have the amp connected to a CD player.I was told I can connect an external hard drive through the ethernet port but there is no information on the Sonos website on how to do this.  I put all my MP3s and MP4s on a Sandisk solid state hard drive and and hoped to play them directly from this.Anyone figured out how to do this?  Sorry, but only proficient in Mac operating systems.

Can I transfer a system to a homeowner for who I installed Sonos amps?  I left their house and know want to give them access. Do I need to be at their house to do a transfer?

Want to change so is to new WiFi but doing this wireless (the app helps you through the steps) gives me an error (cannot connect to SONOS wifi). I remember that a way around might be to connect via Alan Ethernet cable speaker for speaker. True?

Hi there. sorry this is a question you probably always here and fed up of answering but…. How do I get Alexa on my Sonos 5 ? Do I need to add a Alexa dot ( or echo or something in that range) and is it as simple as plug it in the back of the 5 and obviously download the app to my iPhone.  thanks

Hello, I'd like to be a able to stream podcasts from my Android phone Podcast Republic app to my Sonos beam. Is this possible?At the moment, I listen to podcasts via Podcast Republic app on my Android phone through phone speaker or via bluetooth speaker but it would be great if I could listen to them via the Sonos Beam as well.Thanks, Mark

Hi, Is there a way to setup the sound bar with Apple TV without losing Dolby? Currently I have the Apple TV connected to tv through hdmi ARC then I have the Sonos going to the optical port tv. Everything seems to work but I hate to miss out on so much function by not having the Sonos sound bar go to the arc port. The Apple TV plays the video and then the sound goes to the bar through the optical port. Also, can I add more than 2 surround speakers? I want to have 4. I bought them but seems like they can’t be used or added.

Hello,I bought a Sonos Roam last year and loved it. Moved into a new apartment that came with a Sonos One SL and obviously trying to link them together. Me nor any of my roomates without Sonos devices have been able to login to the Sonos app and add my Sonos Roam to the SL’s system as a sub. We can all play independently to the SL or Roam from the Spotify app but we just cant login to play them together.When i delete  and reinstall the Sonos app I can login at first. Whether I press “Setup New System” or “Connect to Existing”, the only system on my mobile app is the SL. but my own Roam does not show on the mobile app at al (pre or post mobile login). When i login on online it says my only system is the Roam.Once I’ve already logged in, i press add sub/stereo pair it brings me to another login screen (i dont know why, I’m already logged in and it shows my acount details) but when i try to login from this screen it always fails!I also tried the desktop mac app and that was even worse exp

I connected a Sonos Boost to my Sonos 2 app - no issues at all.  I have a Gen 1 Play 5 on the Sonos 1 app, how do i get the Boost to work with that speaker as well?
