I've notice there is a lot of posts about sonos arc and LG cx, but i think mine is different.It's not that arc stops working, is more that some apps are able to wake it up and other aren't. In my case, some times the PC signal or lg native you tube app aren't able to wake it app. The solution at the moment is to pass through Amazon prime/Netflix apps and then switch to you tube or the PC.Is there a way to permanently disable the stand by in the arc ? Or to switch it on/off manually?

How do I connect a friend / family member to my Sonos app/devices ? 

Hi, I have 3 different areas with in-wall prewired speakers in my home, with the cables running bundled (but seperated) individually to one location in the basement Outdoor living space with 2 speakers (TV outside as well) Family room with 5 in-wall ceiling speakers (TV mounted in front) Basement with 5 wired speakers My questions is how and with what equipment would I use to utilize these speakers for the respected TVs (to output sound) and to use for music. I will also note their are Ethernet Cat6 cables run to the same locations behind all TVs (at wall plate behind the TVs) The media company for the builder said to use Sonos, but how would I go about using this (so that there is no lag in the audio from the TV). Would I use just Sonos or use it with existing amplifier?Do I need seperate amplifiers for each set of speaker? Really look forward to any help! Hi - Can you share a Gen 2 SONOS 5 speaker with Gen 2 Controller (for general use) and Gen 1 controller connected *via the jack plug* for occasional use ? I want to use the Gen 1 controller and Gen 1 CONNECT hard wired and fitted to my turn table AND when that’s not in use use the Gen 2 controller on the SAME 5 Gen 2 speaker - without having to unplug the jack plug ?   Thanks in advance.       

Greetings forum members,I am writing to seek assistance with connecting my Sonos Beam soundbar to my new gaming laptop. I have recently purchased a new laptop and have been trying to connect it to my Sonos Beam soundbar, but I have been facing some challenges.I have attempted to connect my Sonos Beam to my laptop through the HDMI ARC port, but I have not been successful. I have checked all the cables and ports to ensure that they are properly connected, but the Sonos Beam is still not detected by my laptop. I have also attempted to connect my laptop to the Sonos Beam through Bluetooth, but I have not been successful in this either.I would greatly appreciate any assistance or advice that the forum members can provide on this matter. I have a Beam Gen 2 connected to our Living Room TV and would like to add either a pair of Era 100s or a pair of one SLs as surround speakers for watching movies. However for various reasons I’m not able to have these speakers permanently located in the Living Room. So is it possible to set up the  Beam Gen 2 with a pair of surround speakers so that I can easily connect them whenever I want to watch a movie with surround sound and then when finished remove them from the room until the next time I want to watch another movie?

I would like to use an NAD C700 which has a digital coaxial input and phono input capability to receive my analog vinyl records and to process my CDs with the C700 DAC on board.  From there, I would like to add Sonos speakers to this listening room, and connect the C700 directly to either the Sonos 5 or the new Sonos One for lower bookshelves against a wall that can’t use rear ported speakers so well.  The aim, is that when I want to listen to CDs, Vinyl or stream higher-end BluOS, can I transfer the sound directly to either of the two Sonos speakers.  I will buy the speakers as a stereo pair for the room.  This would enable streaming what is received to my  Sonos Arc in my living room.  When I want to just listen to Sonos wirelessly without the NAD C700, I can just use the Sonos app to stream Apple Music, Amazon or Sirius XM which works fine.  Can this be connected this way.

Hello There, I got the Ray, i’m trying to connect it to my computer, but my computer does not have the optical port, it only has a audio type c. I bought an adapter USB AUDIO CONVERTER OPTICAL AND 3.5MM, I plug it into my type c, nothing works then I try a usb port but there is no audio coming out either, my computer does detect that there is a speaker plug it and even has the green audio lv going up, Any tips? I was going to return this but I really want to make it work. Much would be appreciated thank you.I have a rog strix b550- e gaming motherboard

My sub recently disconnects from my system for an unknown reason. I cannot get it to reconnect. I have reset it multiple times and when setting it up it either doesn’t recognise the sub or if I connect it to the temp SONOS WiFi it doesn’t connect to my permanent WiFi. Nothing has been changed router etc. From what it was previously connected to. I have NETGEAR Orbi6 WiFi router and the sub is next to an extender. I have connected via Ethernet cable and WiFi with nothing working? Is there anything I can do or has my sub died?? Thanks

I know with an adapter to the usb c port I can have a wired connection to my turntable.  But if I have a bluetooth enabled turntable can I pair with an Era speaker similar to the feature on Roams?

I have 2 Sonos One SL’s, a sub and a Sonos Arc in a 550 sq ft room with a kitchen/dining room adjacent to it. The tv room portion has a vaulted ceiling that is 11 feet tall. Can I accomplish Dolby Atmos with this set up?  Do I need Era 300 to help achieve it?

My system includes Sonos speakers connected by ethernet as well as wifi. All too often, some of the wifi speakers furthest from my Orbi router and satellites, drop in and out. I’m considering adding a wifi extender, or worse case, another satellite, to improve stability. I’ve got the Samsung Serif TV, as well as a Sonos Arc which I’ve been contemplating mounting above the television.  Because it stands on its own 4 legs though, I’ve been also thinking the possibility of mounting it below the television but then again access to the sound bar would be limited so back to my initial idea. Specifically given that the TV would sit ahead of the speaker, would it make sense to mount it right above the television? This would be above ear level but plenty of space between it and the ceiling. I’ve literally searched everywhere but seems no one has had this dilemma. All thoughts/ideas welcome please.

In my household I have a Sonos One in my daughter’s room, and an Arc and a Beam in other parts of the house. I have everything connected to my Sonos account using Spotify and Alexa. I want to restrict what my daughter can listen to in her room, so I set her up with her own Spotify account on my family plan and restricted explicit music.I can’t figure out how to set it up so her Spotify account plays on her Sonos One, and my account plays in the other parts of the house. I tried creating a separate Sonos account, but the Sonos app wouldn’t let me. I added both her and my Spotify accounts to my Sonos account, but couldn’t tell it to use one account on one device, and another account on the others.What can I do here? I will have to get rid of the Sonos One and buy some other speaker if I can’t restrict explicit music in her room.

Hi all, help!I’ve changed my router and now my music library isn’t recognised. I’ve deleted it from and am trying to re add it but it says ‘there is no shared folder’ on the laptop’?????  It’s all Series 1 Sonos products, I’ve attached to the new router via ethernet and it recognises my new network, but I just can’t add my music folder - what am I doing wrong?  I’m not techy at all, so if you can shed any light in laymans terms I’d really appreciate it.

My playbase doesnt want to Connect because the playbase doesnt make Any Sound in the process were the mobile phone trys to hear a Audio code. Someone ever had the Same issue? Thanks for any help! ps: i reset already few times untill Green light

I am missing the option to add a title from seach view to the actual player at the end of the plalist or the “play next” option.I only see the option to add a title to a seperate stored playlist or to play the tile right now.I am working with the Android S2 app

My music library is located on a external hard drive, I would like to reset the paths that are already set to add further music selections. However, when I open “Music Library Settings” all I can see is Desktop

A question for Sonos.  Why can’t you make a combined S1 and S2 universal controller?  Can’t your software be smart enough to identify and combine all of your speakers?  I get the hardware is different, but if S1 controls old hardware, and S2 new hardware, why not a S Universal that is smart enough to combine and control it all?  Or is this a way to force the sale of upgraded hardware?

I have a Beam (GEN 2) hooked up to my Toshiba Fire TV through the HDMI ARC port. Hooked up the beam and everything works fine, tv sound, spotify, etc. However, whenever the TV goes to sleep/turns off for awhile and then is turned back on- the arc connection no longer works, plays no tv sound, and my tv says that my tv remote cannot control the volume.I try to re-pair the sonos with the tv via the app and it states there is no ARC Audio output even though it was working before...The only way for me to fix the issue is to fully restart the system via unplugging tv from the wall or going into tv settings and doing a full restart. Anyone seen this problem before or have any ideas on how to fix?

I turn on the tv connected via hdmi to sonos beam 2 in dolby configuration with 2 ikea synphonisk. everything works perfectly but after about 15/20 minutes the audio stops for 20 seconds, after 20/30 minutes it fixes the problem again, then it doesn't do it again. the problem occurs with and without the ikea satellites connected, i tried to shut down the system, i updated the system to the latest version but the problem is always present.

I have had a Sonos system with 4 speakers for a few years and it has been working great until recently.I noticed that a couple of the speakers disappeared from the Sonos app (S2?) so I tried all sorts of options and eventually got them to reappear. Then one speaker was unplugged and moved to a different location and it was then lost in the Sonos app!Then, we had a power cut and all speakers disappeared again.I have been trying to get them all back but they just won’t connect anymore!?I have 2 x Play:3, 1 x Play:1 and 1 x One (Gen 1).The wifi is provided by a Netgear Orbi mesh.Internet is via a Technicolor DGA0122The Sonos app is the latest version (v15.1.1) I have restarted the router, the Orbi wifi and every single speaker. I have reset each one (by holding the necessary buttons until the speaker chirps and flashes amber). They usually connect to the SONOS wifi but not always, they then fail to connect to the Orbi wifi. And yes, the password I am entering is correct! Any ideas on anyt

HiNot long had my new set up of arc plus sub plus one sl surrounds but I find the sound very thin and sibilant when watching normal tv (through virgin media box). It’s like treble is far too forward in sound profile meaning it’s a very harsh sound. Honestly my previous £250 Samsung soundbar sounded better (for normal tv).I’ve spent hours changing settings, running and re-running trueplay etc.is this just the way it is with an Arc? Should I consider a Beam instead? Thanks
