Are you able to connect your turntable to the Sonos Amp ‘line in’ input and play music from vinyl to either a play 1,3 or 5 that is on your wireless network.  Vic

Just wondering if the Sonos One SL without microphone is really better than Play 1 in terms of sound and functionality other than making the controls more aesthetic and being Airplay ready? Are there any real upgrades in performance for playing regular music. Play 1st are now on sale in many locations.

I keep getting the message “looks like there aren’t any other speakers connected on your home network so I can’t broadcast your message.” I am able to group and play on my play one speakers with the the sonos app and I can also use Spotify direct control so I know they are on the network. I am also able to see the speakers in the google home app. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this? From the home app I try to broadcast and it says broadcasting now but nothing is broadcasted. I have just run the v10.2 update and aside from it completely messing up the integration and control between Sonos, Spotify and Alexa which i've now sorted after 2 hours of trying to put back to how it was. The option to turn off the wake chime seems to have now disappeared from the Sonos app, has this function now been removed? MJ

Hello all - wondering if its possible to use a Beam with a TV that has not HDMI Arc or Optical Digital output?

Hello All,   I’m considering adding a Sonos to my existing system to add more sound to a back bedroom.  The existing system has newer Denon receiver, two floor speakers + center channel, Audio Technica PL-120 with preamp. Plus numerous other things connected to the receiver like TV, PS3, cable box, etc.  Definitely an old school traditional setup for the most part.   So the super basic question is...what do I need to add to get that single Sonos speaker going?  Port?  Connect 5?  I don’t want to bypass my current setup and have the record player go directly to the Sonos.  I might consider for the future going all Sonos and losing the current speakers but that would still entail using the receiver, right?     I’m definitely lost with all this and unable to connect the dots by just reading others posts.  Any help will be greatly appreciated!   Thank you   Todd

So we have friends here for vacation, and they are disappointed because it is not as simple as a bluetooth speaker to broadcast music in my house... you have to download the Sonos app, log in with my complicated password and then they find the app complicated (too many rooms, not used to my music service, difficult to find the tune they want...) and mess up the whole thing. Is there an easy way to have a guest broadcast a tune to a sonos system that I don't know ?

Are there plans to be able to change the Sonos One wake word? My daughters name is Alexa, so it's not practical to have it as the wake word ( I don't need two people telling me that they "don't know that one")

Attached is a picture of my network matrix. Every item is hardwired to network  with wireless disabled, except the playbar in bonus room has wireless enabled to talk to subwoofer. The playbar is also wired to network, since the subwoofer is wireless I enabled wireless on playbar. My thought was that the playbar would turn on sonosnet for just the subwoofer. The Matrix shows a lot of undefined items, I can’t seem to find what MAC addresses those belong to. I have submitted a diagnostics report if that helps, 764802476. I have ubiquiti unifi switches with STP enabled correctly, however this delays the time for getting IP addresses so i would like to turn that off if possible. With my current setup, I believe there will be no loops and therefore do not need STP correct? In summary, what’s undefined stuff and can I disable STP.  

I’ve had a play 1 in storage since we are building a house. I never had good performance from the speaker. Using the iPhone  app songs would skip, stop or not even play. I still want to play music stored on my iPhone. I’m hesitant to try and set it up again knowing how poorly it performed before. Has the app been improved any? If not, I’m tempted to just try and sell the play 1 and be done with Sonos. 

If I want to use the Brennan B2 as a CD player and Internet Radio as well as a passive NAS, to do this, can I hook it up to any Sonos product with a line in? I was thinking of a Play 5 but may now considering the Port since I have to wire the B2 to the router with a ethernet cable in a different room.

Good afternoon all,   I have just been setting up my new Beam which is awesome! I am struggling with one thing though. I have added all three of my Amazon Music Unlimited Family plan accounts in the services section of the Sonos app and the Alexa app can see the beam as one of my devices. All good so far. Can anyone help as to how each member of my family can access their playlists using Alexa voice control. I have been talking to Alexa for ages trying to access playlists in each of the three accounts but I'm struggling. I really hope one of you has had the same experience and can help. Many thanks

I’m hoping someone can help me understand what is happening when Sonos Connect is connected to my preamp via optical input to my preamp, which also has a DAC. Does the optical connection bypass the DAC in the Connect? Or does the conversion happen in the Connect? I’m trying to figure out if the DAC in the preamp then does additional conversion, or if it does nothing because it is seeing an analogue signal that doesn’t need conversion? I’m fine with the DAC in the Sonos, but the reality is my preamp has one also. I’m not sure how to think about what might be the best way to connect the devices to avoid having to go through the conversion twice (or if that even matters). Many thanks for the education.

Currently use iTunes on MacBook for all my music. Plan on adding a NAS. How can I organize my music, without using iTunes. Is the there software to organize? I liked to be able to easily find selections and have playlist. Thanks Joe

I'm looking at completing a 5.1 surround sound system in my living room with the Sonos Sub. As you can see in the photo below, the room has a bit of a strange layout (ignore the furniture placement, I drew in my current TV and speaker setup). I've got this recessed area that is approximately 8-9 feet off the floor above a hallway. There's actually an outlet up there, so this would be an awesome place to hide a subwoofer. I would probably lay it horizontally so that it wouldn't be visible from the floor. Any thoughts on if this would or wouldn't work? Any input would be appreciated! I connect my Sonos sound bar using optical cable to a TCL Roku TV. I can't get the tv remote to control the sound on the bar. I was able to do it with my previous Samsung TV. I tried the remote control settings in the sonos app but its not recognizing the remote when I asked to hit the volume + button. I also tried using an optical to HDMI (ARC) adapter that came with my beam (in the other room) and then adjusted the CEC settings on the tv, but it doesn't recognize the bar that way. Any suggestions?

I know there are other threads about this but I have not found any solution. It is impossible to properly play music from my iPhone music library to my Sonos speakers. The songs skip midway through, then skip and skip without even playing, then just stop playing all together. Yes, I have done everything suggested. I have changed my wireless settings from automatic to channel 1, and I have set auto-lock to never and tried my best to NEVER USE MY IPHONE FOR ANYTHING while using Sonos. But this is ridiculous. Not only does it drain my battery but sometimes while playing music all evening long I need to use my phone - shocking, I know. The moment I open any other app, my songs start skipping. This is NOT a wireless connectivity issue or other communication with Sonos speakers issue. I can stream Pandora from my Sonos app all day while using 6 different iPhone apps and never have the Sonos app on the screen. This is ONLY an issue when playing from my iPhone library. Again,

Hi I am having an issue where any new Apple playlist I create does not show up in the Sonos Controller. The odd thing is that if I delete a playlist, it removes itself from the list. It is only creating new ones that seem to not appear in the Sonos app. I have gone through the recommendations on this site that others have seemed to have tried but none of those checks worked. I have the following Iphone 11 Pro running IOS 13.2.3 Latest Sonos Controller App on Iphone Rebooted all Sonos Speakers (Just In case) Restarted Iphone Turned Apple Music Sync off and then back on (numerous times) Checked and reset preferences in ITunes on my Win10 Laptop   Thanks in advance Pete

Please add the following Sonos Playlist management/edit functionality to the Sonos Controller application: #1 back up Sonos Playlists #2 export a Sonos playlist to a file (e.g. xml, csv) in a format that can then be imported back into the Sonos Controller application - i.e. allow offline mass editing of a playlist. #3 import a playlist from a music service (e.g. Spotify, Apply Music, Deezer, Amazon Music) and create it as a Sonos Playlist #4 repoint a Sonos playlist to a new music service (e.g. if you change your music subscription from Spotify to Apple Music or vice versa). #5 should be ability create Sonos playlists in an offline editor - i.e. expose the Sonos playlist format/syntax to the public so we can create large playlists quickly (extension of function #2).

How do i setup Sonos with Spotify for my family? I need to be able to switch Spotify user in sonos.  If I play Spotify on my mobile phone but my family want to play Spotify on our sonos ther is a conflict. We are using a Spotify family account.
