Hi all, i’m trying to make an outdoor setup with one or more Sonos Amps.   Problem is, i’d like to also have an outdoor subwoofer, which are almost all passive, and don’t really understand how i can set that up. Other non Sonos systems basically see the speakers daisy chained from the amp, and the Sub is simply treated as one of the speakers.   Anybody has a clue?

I just got a Sonos One SL, placed it in the kitchen. In the adjacent living room I have an old hifi with an Airport Express connected to aux-in (using a mini headphone to RCA cable) to make it an Airplay 2 target. I played them both together for the first time today using Airplay 2 and Apple Music (streaming) as the source. Sounded excellent for about an hour, then the Sonos One started to drift behind the stereo, until it was unlistenable. I tried pausing and playing again, no luck.   In the experience of the community, is this issue likely to be permanently resolvable, or is it the sort of thing where I’ll need to restart devices repeatedly? The Sonos One will live near the ceiling, so this is untenable. I’m using an iphone with 12.4.1 OS.   I’ve heard of people hardwiring their Sonos with ethernet cable and still having this issue, so I don’t think it’s the wifi. I live in a 950sf house anyway.   The real question is-- do I return the Sonos One, or do I go down the path of fiddling

In the Amazon Alexa app > Devices tab, when I select one of my Sonos speakers and access the Device Settings screen, I am unable to change the name of my Sonos device using the 'Edit Name' option. I can change the text, but when I click 'Done' the name reverts back to the default name of 'Thomas's Sonos One Second Edition'.

I'm about to pick up this panel and I just want to make sure 1) Does this TV pass through dolby 5.1 with no lip sync issues for the Playbar? 2) Does the LG magic remote work with the playbar? Thanks

I am looking at a new AMP with outdoor speakers to add to my Sonos - I already have a couple of playbar surround systems set up and some One's around the house. I also have an old turn table that I would like to plug into the AMP. My question is, can I play from the turntable to a different set of speakers in my setup? e.g. to one of the playbar surround systems without it also playing on the outdoor speakers attached to the AMP? Or will anything that I play through the input from the AMP always going to have to play on the speakers attached, as well as any others I select? thanks

I’ve owned my Sonos system for over a decade.  A common usage model over the years has been to create queues on the fly.  I have noticed recently that the “Play Next” and “Add to End of Queue” are no longer options in the IOS Controller App.  I find a song I want to add to the queue and click on the three dots next to the song and see:   Add Song to My Sonos Add to Sonos Playlist Play in Another Room… Play Now   The MAC controller still includes the old queue functions, so I think the functionality must still exist.  Is there a reason to remove these options from the IOS app?

In September 2018 Amazon released the AVS Device SDK that allows Alexa enabled 3rd party speakers to use Alexa Multiroom Music (MRM). This means Amazon now supports music played from Echo speakers and 3rd party speakers at the same time. Does Sonos plan to update their Alexa enabled speakers (One, Beam) to allow Alexa multi-room music?

Hi Folks, I recently got an email from Sonos saying that we can now play music from Apple Music using Google Assistant. However, whenever I try to play music using my Sonos One I get an error "Okay, playing music using Apple Music... I'm sorry there was an error with Sonos One". Can anyone help me out with this? The email states that the Google Assistant integration leverages the Apple Music subscription using the Sonos App, so there shouldn't be any issues. Below is a picture of the email. Hello everyboy, I see this advertised in the presentation sections of Sonos One SL: “Use a pair as rear home theatre surrounds with Playbar, Playbase, or Beam.“. I get how it works theoretically. What I’m worried about is: the sound comes from the TV to the Beam through HDMI, but then from the Beam to the OneSL rear speakers through Wi-fi. Because of this, isn’t there some (very small, but still...) delay ? IMO, there’s no way a wi-fi connection can be as fast as the cabled one. And if there would be a delay, there’s nothing the Beam can do through software, as it doesn’t receive the sound any sooner that the moment when the TV outputs it… Who has set up and is using such a configuration ? What can you tell me, am I worried for nothing ? Is this really working ok, without any delay issues ? Thanks.

I currently have a Samsung Q60r 43” television connected to Sonos Beam via HDMI ARC.  Direct TV Genie and Samsung Blueray player are connected to television via HDMI.  I remedied a lip-sync problem by turning off Dolby Digital on the Direct Tv Genie menu and switching the Samsung television to PCM.  But now, like others on this site, I only get stereo on the Beam.  When I turn Dolby Digital back on in the Direct Tv Genie menu, I get Dolby Digital thru the beam, but the lip sync problem (audio is slightly ahead of video) comes back (albeit ever so slightly). Other posts on this site suggest using an audio extractor so that the audio is in sync with the video.  I bought one and tried it out but couldn’t get it work properly.  Anyway, I was thinking about trying again, because I would really like to take advantage of the Dolby Digital capability of the Beam.  My questions are these: What are the proper setup/connections for the extractor?  I understand that the Direct TV Genie and the Blu

Hi,  I recently purchased a Sonos Beam to complement my existing 2x IKEA SYMFONISK speakers. Yaaay! One thing I am trying to make it work is to add existing SYMFONISK speakers as surround to Beam, while Beam is connected to LG c8 Oled tv via HDMI ARC. However; it seems that I have not succeeded yet. While TV sound (including apps in the tv such as Netflix) comes through Beam, there is no sound comes through from SYMFONISK speakers, except background sound.  I have also tried using optical cable, which didn’t work either.  Is there a certain setting I need to change in TV/Speakers in order to get sound as surround from all speakers?    Thanks for your help in advance.

So, just given my Daughter a Sonos One for her bed room to add to the other Sonos devices around the house.   Prior to this, all Sonos devices, Alexa and Apple Music accounts in the house were all mine.   But she has her Apple Music playlist and stuff on her iPhone… so she needs to use her Apple Music account….. so far so good!   Register Sonos One to MY account  Add My Daughter’s Apple Music account to Sonos she can now use the Sonos app with her Apple Music profile   But I can’t figure out the next step of linking her Alexa account AND her Apple Music to the Sonos One.   From what I can find on the web talks about linking an Echo device to a child’s Amazon account but the options for this does not seem to be available in the Alexa App so I can’t then add her Apple account to Alexa   Any ideas how to manage different users within the same house and multiple Apple Music accounts?   I would be OK for her to have my Alexa account on the Sonos One, but really need her Apple Music to be o

Hi, I can not achieve 5.1 audio when viewing HD broadcast TV. Can any one advise how I can achieve this please? My set up is as follows: Sonos Beam paired with two Sonos One SL speakers. The Beam is connected to a Samsung TV with The ARC HDMI input. The TV Model is: Samsung UE50ES6710 I use a Humax Freeview Player to receive the HD content: Humax FVP5000T The Humax is connected both via a HDMI cable and SPDIF to the Samsung TV. The setting on the HUmax are set to Doby Digital for both HDMI and Optical outputs. I have used The Simspons broadcast on Channel 4 HD which shows in the guide that it is broadcast in 5.1 to test the surround system. Looking at the About System page of the Sonos app I see that the audio input is Stereo. In the sound settings for the Samsung menu I have selected External speakers. The menu options in Additional Settings for Sound shows SPDIF Out set to PCM. The Dolby Digital option is greyed out and not selectable. When I switch source on the Samsung to USB and p

Hi all !  I recently bought Sonos one (gen 2) , I like to know how can I stream only the audio to Sonos one  when I watching a film in my projector . The way how I stream is using amazon fire dongle into the projector . Can I split the signal video and audio ?    My last setup was : projector connected hdmi with amazon fire dongle then from the projector  mini jack audio out into Bluetooth transmitter avantree oasis . This setup let me both ways , streaming my films or video music clips audio to my normal auto amplified speakers or to 2 x Bluetooth headphones then obviously watch the film without delay and cables around .  any tips please? Will help if at least I can setup Sonos one gen 2 like normal Bluetooth speakers .  thanks in advance !!  JM MORENO 

Hello, I’ve been using Alexa (amazon.co.uk account) and Sonos (incl. Sonos One) for years with no issue. Few weeks ago some of my Sonos devices went offline. I had to reset all the system to resolve the issue. Everything but Sonos One is working back OK. But I cannot enable Alexa on my Sonos One.  I did:  - factory reset of Sonos One (several times, including reconnection thru wifi and thru ethernet).  - uninstall / reinstall Sonos & Alexa app on my iPhone  - disable skill and re-enable with account linking Sonos skill in Alexa app   My Sonos One is working, but only one way. It is not listening to Alexa commands. Mic is ON of course. I have two Sonos One SL speakers and a Vizio 58” Class V TV (model V585-G1). The TV has Apple AirPlay 2. I would like to use AirPlay 2 to play video content on the screen and audio through the Sonos, but can’t seem to get it to work. Is this possible?

I installed a new Blue Curve Router and was able to get Sonos up and working on my iPhone but not my Mac. The instructions don’t work because I can’t find how to update my network setting in the app on my Mac.  I tried attaching an ethernet cable (which I didn’t have with my previous set up but that didn’t help my Mac.) How can I update my network settings in my Sonos app on my Mac?

I’m planning on buying the Sonos Amp and to drive my old Amphion Helium 520 floorstanders (4ohms) with it.   The Sonos Amp manual states: “Your speakers’ power rating should be at least 125W for 8 ohm speakers, and at least 200W for 4 ohm speakers.” My speakers’ power recommendation is 10 to 150W so how should I interpret the power rating of 200w for 4ohm speakers? Will the Amp work with the speakers?   Thanks!

Hi Folks,   There have been plenty of questions regarding DJing with Sonos regarding the 70ms latency. Someone once posted this: START ”1) If you can get the output of your DJ thingy into the Playbar via it's optical input then the audio would NOT be delayed. If you had 2 Play units bonded as surrounds then they would also play audio not delayed (but the signal would NOT be Dolby Digital 5.1 so they would barely get used. 2) Any other way of getting audio into Sonos - via line in on Connect, Connect:amp or Play 5 would be subject to an audio delay 3) If you GROUPED other Plays to a Playbar and played your DJing via the Playbar the audio played through the GROUPED speakers would be delayed by 70ms.” FINISH   Is the statement in (1) true and if so can one also plug directly into the optical in of a Beam to achieve the same.    Many thanks   John

I have a Sonos Beam and two Play 1s connected to my Sony Bravia TV. I love it, but it has been a bit of a hassle. For example, I had to use a HDMI CRC Less adapter because my devices were interfering with the Sonos system. This took me a few months to diagnose and sort out (I’m not a tech wiz).  The Sonos system works like a charm now, but I’d like to have the capability to use Bluetooth headphones with my TV. The TV itself is not Bluetooth headphone equipped. I considered buying a Bluetooth transmitter to plug into my TV, but I fear switching the TV audio settings back and forth (from ‘audio system’ to ‘headphones’) will confuse the Beam again.  Does anybody have a workaround that would allow me to listen to headphones ‘through’ the Sonos system? Can I tap into it somehow, or do I have to wait for Sonos to release headphones of its own? Neither the Beam nor the Play 1s have an aux port.  I have seen reference to using a Sonos Connect, but that seams a little excessive (I have a Play 5

Hej, andre der ikke kan få Google Assistent til at virke sammen med Sonos? havde det oppe og køre, ville så tilføje 2 nye Sonos til systemet og Google, de ville ikke aktiverer Assistent og stemme styring. Jeg prøvede derfor at fjerne tilknytning til Google og starte forfra, og nu kan jeg ikke får det til at virke på de gamle jeg havde og intet virker.  Sonos og begge app’s er nyeste version.  håber nogen har en løsning.   

I recently purchased Sonos Beam with 2 Sonos One. I have successfully connected to my TV, however i am facing problem connecting to my projector. My projector (XGIMI Aurora) has 1 HDMI input where i plug my Firetv or Android TV Box. Audio Out is either through Projector speaker or 3.5 mm jack or bluetooth. Can you please let me know, how do i get audio out to my sonos.   Many Thanks for your help

I’d like to purchase the entertainment set for a record player to play in a large room. I would also like to add two Play:5s to another part of the house and still play music from the record player throughout the house. Essentially, just connecting all the speakers to play off the record player. Is that possible? If so, how can I do that? Thank you!
