Will SONOS be adding Airplay 2 capability for the PLAY 1 speaker?

I had two Play1 as stereo in my living room. Now I have plugged one of them out and moved to the kitchen. I would now like to create a new room “Kitchen” for this speaker and add that speaker, thus removing it from the living room. Could somebody tell me which settings to use in the Sonos application?

I just bought a Beam and a Sonos 1 (Gen 2). Initially I set them up in separate rooms. I have moved the Play 1 to the same room as the Beam as the Left back speaker. I changed the name of it and added it to the group, but it isn't responding to volume controls. How do I make the Sonos 1 (Gen 2) work as a part of a surround sound system? I just ordered another Sonos 1 (Gen 2) to add as the Right back of the same room. I may need setup assistance with that as well. Does anyone have any specific instructions on how to achieve this?

Looking to use a pair of Sonos one gen 2’s as wireless rear speakers with an Onkyo receiver. Is is it possible to use Onkyo as 3.1 system and use the Sonos CONNECT as a bridge to pair the Sonos ones as rear speakers?

Hello, I'm new here on the forum and I really want a powerful home theater using a Sonos system. Can you help me? I would like comments and suggestions on the following setup for a 650 sqft room with 80 ”tv: 1. Playbar or Playbase; 2. Four in-ceiling by Sonance (two pairs); 3. A Sub by Sonos: 4. A Sonos Amp. Doubts: 1. Is it a good setup and does it work as a powerful home theater? 2. Is it compatible with TruePlay? 3. Will there be any delay between the TV picture and the sound? 4. How will I connect the cable tv, my ps4, blue ray and vinyl phono? 5. Maybe get two Sonos Amp? Thank you very much if you can help me.

I have 3 sonos speakers that are connected by wifi to my home network. They have always been hidden as available networks but now has started appearing and it’s an unsecured network. Anyone in close proximity to the house can connect to it. Does anyone know how to hide the network so my neighbours can’t connect to it? thanks

When does Sonos expect to have support for Google Assistant?

Just bought a sonos one. My google assistant CANNOT find the device. Very frustrating after being a SONOS loyalist for years.

Since the iPhone app and Play:1 were last updated, the iPhone app now takes longer to find the Play initially. Then, if I want to pause or resume playing, I get a message saying the app can't find the Sonos device and I have to try again two or three times. Similarly, if I try to change or mute/unmute the volume using the iPhone app, this can take up to around 15 seconds to happen. Note that this had been working perfectly since I got the Play:1 at the start of the year - it's just been in the past few weeks that this annoying behaviour has started happening. As far as I'm aware, nothing environmental has changed (ie WiFi is the same router which hasn't been rebooted for a few months) The phone is an iPhone 7 running the current iOS update with app version 10.3, build 51166240. The Play:1 has the same build version as the iOs app, hardware version 1.20.1.6-2 and is connected over WiFi to my home network on the same net as the phone uses.

Finally Alexa and Apple Music integration has come to Sonos in Australia. This would be great if it actually worked. I have added the Sonos skill and the Apple Music skill to Alexa. I have added Apple Music as the default music service. I have added Alexa to both my Sonos One and my Beam. When I ask Alexa to play a particular artist, it will default to playing via Amazon Music (despite Apple Music being set as my default). When I specifically request that the artist play from Apple Music, Alexa responds that it “could not find that on Apple Music”, despite the songs being available to play via the Sonos app manually. The only command that works is if I ask Alexa to “play music” and it will play a personalised radio station from Apple Music. However, requesting any particular artist, album, playlist, etc. always either starts playing from Amazon Music or not found if specifically requested to play from Apple Music. When I ask Google to play a song on Spotify through my Beam, it will say: "OK, here's [song]. Sorry, it looks like you haven't set up Spotify on your Sonos app. To play from Spotify, link the same account on both Sonos and Google Assistant." I have linked and unlinked the same account on both the Sonos app and the Google Assistant app a number of times, and still can't get it to work. Is there something I'm missing?

How can I just turn ducking off completely? I don't care if Alexa doesn't hear me sometimes. Sonos is my computer speaker, its so annoying having youtube videos duck in volume when I give a command.

Hi guys, Can you help me out on this. Recently purchased a my Sonos Beam. Interestingly, at the bottom of it there is a sticker saying "El Rey" as a model, rather than Beam. I read about "El Rey" being the internal Sonos name of the product, but haven't found any other info on that. Does this mean that it is an earlier produced unit ? Are there any differences ? The sonos app recognises it as Beam though... Cheers and thanks for your thoughts on this.

I have 2 sonos one and 1 beam.. I want to set them together with surround sound setting. I see TV Room (+?+?) and do not see True Play tuning. And only beam is working. Here is an observation that I do not how to fix. I have 4 Sonos Play:1 speakers and a Sonos Boost that is hard wired to my router. I have the Sonos app installed on my PC, iPhones, and iPads. If I decide to listen to Pandora stations, I have no issues with the songs skipping. But...when I play songs from a playlist on my phone, I seldom get a song to finish before randomly skipping to another. The only saving grace is when I play songs from my PC Sonos app. When I play songs from my PC they NEVER skip. At first I thought it was just my iPhone that was doing this, but I used my iPad and it did the same thing. So, the question is, is this an Apple problem or a Sonos problem. Either way, it appears that the only ones concerned about this are those that are affected by the constant random skipping. I'm leaning towards this being a Sonos problem because the same song playlists on my iPhone do not skip at all when I am using Blue tooth on my car stereo. So, in closing, has anyone else h

Hi I have just purchased a Sonos One Gen 2. I use Apple computers and phones. All of my music is stored in a NAS Drive on my network, and is the default music library in my Sonos setup. I am trying to get Alexa to use this when I ask it to play me some music, but it only seems to want to play music from Amazon. I am clearly missing something when setting up or when asking Alexa to play the music. Can someone point me in the right direction please? Thanks

I am using an iPhone 7 running iOS 12.3.1 and Sonos app 10.3. When I select Room Settings within the Settings menu, I receive the spinning wheel suggesting a wait is required and nothing appears for me to select. I went to my Mac desktop controller and noticed that the full Room Settings menu has been removed and I can only change EQ. I want to change the location of a speaker and need to rename it and run Trueplay. Is there a known bug in 10.3?

Trying to disable the Alexa on the Sonos beam and have an echo dot be the Alexa instead. How do you connect an echo dot to the Sonos beam? It’s not connecting through Bluetooth.

I have just read that Sonos is dropping the “on this iPhone” feature. This is deeply concerning to me because it will effectively render my two Sonos Play 1’s useless. I don’t subscribe to a subscription service because I like to own my music and support my local record store. Not being able to play from a phone will be so inconvenient. I don’t want to power up my laptop every time I want to listen to music throughout the house. Does anyone know how to get around this problem?

Hello, I have a Sonos Beam (Alexa built-in) and a Ring Video Door Bell at Home. I have added the Sonos and Ring Skills, and Alexa can see my Ring Video Door Bell as : a) a Camera and b) a "Motion Sensor", which is perfectly fine. I understand that Ring Skills (for video) work only for Echo Show or Fire TV, so I am trying to use the "Motion Sensor" capability of my Ring Doorbell via an Alexa Routine like follows: 1) WHEN "device" (ring doorbell motion sensor) DETECTED MOVEMENT THEN Alex Say "Intruder" But when trying to create the Routine, the save will fail because Alexa couldn't find any audio device. How is that possible if Alexa lives "inside" de "Audio Device" SONOS BEAM? Any help will be appreciated! Thanks

I got a new router and I cannot get the Sonos App to recognize the existing Sonos system I have. I do have sound for my home theatre but when I follow the instructions from Sonos I lose the sound and the app still does not work. I tried setting up as a new system but had the same issue. Any thoughts?

Hi I have added recently Sonos One ( gen 2) I was automatically assigned for bathroom I have previous Sonos Play 1 in the bedroom So originally I want to assign Sonos One to the same bedroom and to create a stereo pair For some reason and cannot move speaker as expained in the forum , as this option just doesn't appear neither on my mobile app( ios) not desktop one ( Windows 10) So how do I exactly move newer Sonos One to the Bedroom with exisitng Sonos Play 1 speaker?
