My iPad and iPhone auto upgraded to S1 Controller and went to play music and no speakers found. Tried to rejoin system and got repeated message system not found. Reset Play:1 device and tried to join to the system, no luck. On hard reset Play:1 went through setup for network, but then failed on making a system at the chime, even though it joined the network fine. All speakers still on the same network and data transmits are going back and forth. Just cant get any of them to join a new or existing system. I don’t want to go resetting my sound bar etc in case I cant get it back. Any ideas appreciated.

I recently purchased two Connect:Amps via Craigslist, both work well. One does not have the label on the Botton and has blue rubber feet: Connect:Amp: Bedroom 2 Serial Number: 00-0E-58-D0-61-B2:A Version: 10.2 (build 50165071) Hardware Version: 1.16.3.1-1 Series ID: P100 IP Address: 192.168.1.199 WM: 0 OTP: 1.1.1 (1—16-3-0.9) The other one appears newer and has a different icon on the top button (see image: Bedroom 2 is bottom, Playroom 2 top). Connect:Amp: Playroom 2 Serial Number: 5C-AA-FD-E0-23-EC:0 Version: 10.2 (build 50165071) Hardware Version: 1.17.3.1-1 Series ID: C100 IP Address: 192.168.1.198 WM: 0 OTP: 1.1.1 (1-17-3-2.1) I looking to find out if they have same specs and perhaps how old they are. Updated entire system to S2. All went very smoothly as usual with Sonos.  Should I now uninstall the redundant S1 controller?

With S2 out in the wild, I was wondering if anyone can test if local control with UPNP still works before I take the plunge (since I am unsure if I can rollback).   I use Sonos with my home automation setup and it relies on the UPNP API not the cloud API.

I have a number of Sonos devices, some legacy some ‘modern’. with the introduction of S2, can I select which of my newer devices to move over to the S2 app? I have a legacy connect that I usually group with an S2 compatible Play3 - To enable me to continue to group these I want to keep both on S1, while moving the other kit over to S2.

Hi, I have 3 speakers connect to my Sonos AMP; (I forgot to add the single BluCube speaker is wired to both left + right channels of the amp.) 2 x Peavey WS-82T wall speakers: 150w max + 8ohms 1 x BluCube BCK80 ceiling speaker: 150w max + 8ohms When i turn the volume up high the amp is faulting (slow flash orange and white). The manual says the AMP can power 2 sets of speakers with 8ohms resistance, so any ideas what the problem is?

EDIT: My indexing has just finished with an error saying there’s not enough space. So I guess that question has been answered. A real shame, as backwards-compatibility was often the reason given for not increasing the index size.   OK, S2 has now hit the streets and the question that’s been on everyone’s lips (well, mine and and maybe a couple of other people!) is… Has the 65K track limit been increased now? Ever since Sonos removed the http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1400/status/tracks_summary screen it’s been impossible for users to see their index size without going through support. I’m currently reindexing mine to see, but it’s kinda tricky to spot missing tracks when the collection is that large!

I’m wondering if there will be desktop controller versions (macOS, Windows) of the S2 app, or just mobile controllers. Has any information been released about this?

Anyone else finding the iOS app consistently needing to be killed and restarted just to stay connected?

I keep seeing the crossfade option when messing around the settings on the Sonos App.  What exactly does it do and when do I use it?

I know different versions of this question have already been asked, but I wanted to ask the community about my specific situation. I pre-ordered the Arc 5.1 system which I plan to plug into a Samsung J6300 (2015, HDMI ARC only) TV which streams video from an Apple TV HD (non-4K). The user manual for my TV says it supports Dolby Digital Plus through ARC. Can you presume what level of audio will be playing through my home theater setup?   EDIT: for clarification, will the Arc be playing Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, or just Dolby Digital 5.1?

How does an ARC + 2 Play 1’s compare to a traditional 5.1 setup? My TV’s HDMI-ARC  does not support Dolby ATMOS, so I am limited to Dolby Digital.

Hi. I froze my Sonos system at 8.4 in order to preserve my CR100’s. I am about to buy 2 second hand ZP120’s to add to the system. I suspect that I can only link them if my entire system is running the same firmware, and the ones I am going to purchase are running the latest firmware. I’ve read that I need to do a factory reset on the new units then add them as new units. I also know that updating the existing units will brick the CR100s. The question is: What will happen to my Sonos playlists during the update process - will they be preserved?

How do i connect  my Sonos One to  VIZIO TV….   I just got my Sonos and i’m not good on how to use it . I download a few apps such as Amazon Alexa, Amazon Sonos and Sonos….

Could anyone tell me how many Bowers & Wilkins AM1 outdoor speakers I can run on the Sonos AMP?   I currently have 2 x B&W AM1 speakers running on 1 x Sonos Connect AMP and another 2 x B&W AM1 speakers running on another 1 x Sonos Connect AMP for my outdoor area. I am trying to figure out if I will improve the sound quality if I upgraded to a Sonos AMP and ran all 4 speakers through that or alternatively if I bought 2 x Sonos AMP’s and ran each pair through them as I currently do with the Sonos Connect AMP’s.    The B&W AM1 say that the recommenced amplifier power is 20-100W into 8 ohms. The nominal impedance is 8 ohms (5.2 ohms minimum).    Thank you!!  doug

Sonos Arc arriving today. How do i use it before release of S2 app?

Hi,   I have the sonos beam connected to my tv sony AF8 on the hdmi arc port. But iam considering changing it to the optical audio output because i need the hdmi port to another hardware. My question is: Is big the difference between hdmi arc por vs optical audio output?

Currently I have a 4k firestick plugged into an HDMI extractor, which splits to an HDMI to my tv and optical cable to my playbar.  This allows me to get DD5.1, as my tv doesn’t pass through DD5.1 through optical connection.  Now on to the Arc.  I am wondering if i simply swap the playbar with the arc, will i still get DD5.1 from the firestick? Doing a bunch of searches and i see that i simply can’t use an HDMI splitter to send an HDMI signal to my tv and the arc as the splitter won’t communicate with the HDMI-ARC input.  Looking for some feedback on the below options: Use the same setup i have now and use the optical adapter with the arc.  Only able to receive DD5.1, not Atmos and not sure if this is compatible?  Is this worth the upgrade? Use the firestick with an HDMI EDID attached to my tv and then an HDMI cable from the HDMI-ARC to sonos arc (tv only supports Dolby Digital, not plus or higher so only 5.1 still), Will an HDMI EDID manager have any impact on the splitter being ab

Tried using Sonos with Golden Master of Catalina and its a no go. When I add my music library on an external drive it does so normally but NO songs in the folder are recognized. Wonder if it has to do with Music being the new app for music instead of iTunes?I was able to see music added if it was on the internal drive of the machine.

I’d like to connect an internet music service live stream on my Macbook Pro laptop to my Sonos system. While Sonos does provide access to many internet streaming services, I have a subscription to Hearts of Space and so am not limited by predefined music that the service chooses to air through the Sonos arrangement. I can select anything from their entire library. Is is possible therefore to get the audio ouput from my Macbook Pro streamed to my Sonos system? Any help much appreciated!

Hi there, I’ve just purchased a Subsonic subscription after checking that Sonos is supported by Subsonic and that Subsonic appears in the list of available services for my Sonos. Subsonic appears to have correctly indexed my music library but I seem to be having a problem linking to my Subsonic account from Sonos - I am definitely entering the correct user details - but can’t see why it is not working. I’m going to log this on the Subsonic help system as well as I’m not sure if it Sonos not sending the account details correctly or Subsonic not accepting them correctly. All help gratefully received :)   Regards   Steve

First setup: (ARC-CEC enabled) LG C9 TV, HDMI-ARC connected to the Beam. Second setup: PS4 Pro’s HDMI connected to LG C9 TV (for video), PS4 Pro’s optical port connected to the Beam using the optical-HDMI adapter (for audio, to eliminate DD 5.1 lag).   I would like to know if there exists an HDMI switch I could use to conveniently switch between the two setups above. The HDMI switchers that support ARC that I’ve seen so far only work with the switches’ optical port, which means I will need two optical-HDMI adapters for them to work. Thanks!

If I connect my Sonos Amp to my TV using HDMI-Arc and power wired speakers to use as rears, will there be any issue wirelessly pairing the Amp with a Sonos Arc to act as fronts as the Arc wont be able to use the HDMI-Arc to the TV?

Hi, I just see the new products email and wanted to know more.  I found an article in WhatHiFi regarding your new products (Arc, new Sub, 5) and they showed a list of compatible devices with the new app (all mine where there thankfully) but they list a ‘gen1, gen2 and the new gen 3 Sub’?? I bought my sub in late 2018 so which version do I have?? I've see you say on a thread here before that there is only one generation of sub and now two so I’m a bit confused. thank you

Hiya I have just bought a new Sonos one to join the other two. The microphone light does not come on when I push the button. I have tried Rebooting and Factory Reset, but theydid not help. Any ideas, or is it justva defective unit? Best regards Phil
