I am trying to set up a Sonos move for the first time. It shows a message saying "Sonos move is connected to wifi but may not show up in the system tab. If so press and hold the power button for 5 seconds then turn on again and continue setup from the systems tab."However nothing shows!! I have reinstalled the app and reset to factory settings multiple times and cannot think of anything else.
I’ve never experienced so many problems with a pair of speakers. There has never been ONE time I’ve tried to use these speakers that I have not run into connectivity issues taking less than 20 minutes to resolve. Every other device in my home stays connected so it is NOT my router. Does anyone else have these issues? If I could return the speakers I would but it’s far too late and they were a gift. At almost $1000 for a pair you’d think these type of issues would have been resolved long ago. Very frustrating.
Hello, I have several Sonos speakers throughout the house including a Sonos Move and Sonos Roam. For some reason the Sonos Roam continually disconnects from the System. I can add it back by resetting the Roam but since this happens every couple of days I am assuming there is something wrong. Is this a known issue? I have a very strong Network and have no other issues with Sonos products (including the Move). Thanks.
I set up my Roam via my Sonos system + home wifi but I am a landscaper and toss it in my bag daily and I would say one out of every 10 days it actually works. It is a NIGHTMARE product.Has anyone figured out how to keep it paired to your iphone? I usually can’t re-pair it unless I’m on the homeowners wifi, and even then it sometimes doesn’t work. I also shouldn’t be asking strangers for wifi passwords to play music for our team. It’s insane. Often when it’s paired and playing, it will just drop suddenly and not reconnect for the rest of the day - and no it’s not dead. Anyway, I’ve learned that I have to re-pair it to my phone in the AM before I leave for work EVERY MORNING and carry it into gas stations, nurseries, etc (keep it on my person essentially) in order for it to not disconnect because if it loses the pairing, we don’t have music for the whole day.☠️
TL;DR - Roam is arguably the infuriating portable or bluetooth speaker I’ve used. 10/10 regret this purchase. Context:Had a home-wide Sonos setup (arc + surrounds + sub) + (2x fives + sub) + (2x ones) + (move to bring to the backyard / on trips where space isn’t a premium) before buying my Roam - so am very familiar with the ecosystem Also have some Nests dotted around for voice control - again, very familiar with the wireless sound ecosystem Needed to replace our ultra-portable bluetooth speaker (use cases where the Move is too cumbersome such as quick trips to the park or trips where flying is involved) Purchased a Roam, charging pad, and case; set it up in a room that didn’t have a One/SL to be used on wireless mode but also available for bluetooth portability; works fine in wireless mode.Challenges:Immediately out of the box it didn’t work and needed to be replaced. Connectivity - regularly have connectivity issues when switching from wireless to bluetooth. The single power / mode
I own a Sonos Move and have noticed that it powers off exclusively during playback, despite being connected to a charger, leading me to believe that the issue isn't related to the battery. After consulting customer service, they suggested that it may be due to interference, but the device continues to power off on its own. Can you offer any suggestions on resolving this issue?
When I plug in my Sonos Roam, the red light on the front appears but it does not respond in any way to pressing power buttons or any other buttons, and it is not appearing to connect via Bluetooth or WiFi. At the moment it’s essentially an expensive paper weight, any idea what is wrong with it?
New Roam arrived yesterday. I followed the set up system (+ new product) - went very smoothly.left the unit on charge overnight.opened the app (yes fully updated) and showed roam as not connected.followed the steps, no success. Move was playing with no issues, wifi working with no issues. Reset the modem/router. absolutely no difference. Roam will not connect. what can be done? (Tried your chat bot and that was useless, hence coming here)
If i play on max volume on my Move sometimes its like 80% of the volume. But then after a while it will just add the 20% out of nowhere and then later it can diss appear again. Can anyone explain this and know a fix for it?
Hello,Is there a way to set a sound alert when battery is low on Sonos Roam?I know there is an orange light that is visible when battery is low but i will prefer to have an audible alert as well.If there is none, do you think this is something worth asking Sonos about? Thanks,Radu B.
Ma sonos roam ne fonctionne plus en wifi.elle apparait eteinte lorsque je lance mon systeme.pourtant le voyant est blanc fixe. que puis-je faire pour qu’elle se connecte à mon système des que je l’allume?merci
Hi everyone, I’ve got a Move which doesn’t appear to be turning on or charging over USB-C as the battery indicator and main status light aren’t lighting up. Unfortunately I don’t have the dock as it’s a 2nd hand unit. I’ve tried 2 power supplies which should be able to provide the power it needs (65W laptop charger and a 90W charger from a Philips 346B1C PC monitor, the monitor can provide 12 V/3 A and 15 V/3 A which meet the Move’s spec). To try and diagnose where the problem is, does anyone know:Can the Move operate without the battery if it’s plugged into power? Can I run diagnostics over the USB port? Is there a way to check the battery level (including with a multi meter)?I’d also be interested to know if there are other steps I can take to diagnose and (hopefully) fix the problem. Thanks in advance
As noted I would like to hook up a Boost to handle my existing speakers 10 all in but also have a Roam. I know that the Roam is not compatible with Boost but will it still run off my wifi and sync with them when in everywhere mode?
I’ve searched on here for any fixes but can’t find any. After working fine for a couple of years my Sonos Move now just has a permanent blinking white light on the top and no amount of resetting etc will fix it. When i hold down the power button it will eventually turn off the light but i don’t get the usual chime sound. Turning it back on and resetting just results in it coming back to life silently with the blinking white light again.
Just a quick check if the Move is still compatible with S1, reading the general table, it should be, but based on the Q&A of the product, it shouldn’t… Is it a new version which is not compatible with S1 anymore and the table is not up to date or it is just a mistake in the Q&A?Thx!
I have 2 x Moves paired in the kitchen, and just recently they have started to drop/disappear from my system. If i power them off and back on they eventually come back online after approx. 5 mins. On the app, when I look at System, there is a warning saying, “Kitchen not configured”. These have worked perfectly up till now, and I’ve had no change to Wi-Fi set up. Any ideas ? TIA
My sonos round used to work perfectly but since I used it for a party last week, in Bluetooth, it doesn’t work in Bluetooth anmymore. It seems to be connected but no sound. I reinitialised it and connected to my system and with the wifi everything is all right. Thanks for your help !!
I do not receive activation mail ? I have checked spam filter
The Sonos Roam is set up in my home WiFi with several other Sonos speakers. Today, I wanted to bring the Sonos Roam to work. First, I paired it to my iPhone using bluetooth. Then I opened the Sonos app to play music. But the app tells me it can’t find any Sonos devices. Why doesn’t it see the Roam paired with bluetooth? Then I tried to add it to the wifi network at the office. The iPhone is connected to the wifi. Now the app tells me it can’t find any devices in that wifi network but doesn’t let me add the Roam to the network. Finally I did a factory reset on the Roam, now the app found it, but when trying to add it to the wifi network, nothing happens. I use a guest wifi without password, for the first connection, I just had to entery my phone number and it would send me a connect ID. But since my iPhone is already connected to that wifi, I should be able to add the connected Roam as well, shouldn’t I?
I can’t connect!!??
We’re getting the backyard ready for a big summer. Lots of space out there, no pool. Would you recommend we set up a pair of Roam speakers in Stereo or just 1 Move speaker?Appreciate your help!
Hi everyone I want to create an nfc shortcut to make my sonos move play from the iphone but i can’t find where the nfc tag is located on the move. I’ve successfully done this with the arc and ikea symfonisk but not for the move. Is the move missing nfc ? If not where should I place the phone? thanks you !
Hi all - for the last few days my Sonos Roam will no longer skip Spotify tracks when I ask it (‘this action is not supported), and secondly it stopped playing sleep sounds on loop (even when I ask it to loop it, and it confirms this is done and memorised). Anyone else having the same problems and/or troubleshoot suggestions? Henry
I got my Roam pair today and they sound great. However I have had a lot of issues keeping them synced as a stereo pair - when I had them outside one of them would keep switching off, and when I turned it back on, it would show as a separate speaker. Later I took them in and plugged them in, did not see the turning off issue while they were charging. When I manually switched one off and then on again, it lost the pair again though, and I had to manually repair them. Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas?
I have a Play3 and I play Spotify through it. I just bought a Sonos Move. I can play Spotify through the Move but I cannot add the device to my App? Additionally I want to group the speakers together but the Group tab is greyed out and says ‘This feature is available on systems with three or more rooms’?
