There could be some interference, please have a look at the Reduce wireless interference Support article.
Does this happen only during playback through Airplay? How does the Sonos Roam perform when playing via the Sonos app?
If actions from the above article are not helping, I would recommend to Submit Diagnostics within 10 minutes of the Sonos Roam stopping playback and reach out to Sonos Support for some live troubleshooting.

i don’t think it is interference as it happens in the garden and the house.
yes it happens with sonos app too.
