My Sonos Roam has a weird kind of latency when I connect it to my MacBook via bluetooth. The way it manifests is, whenever I play audio from my MacBook, (let’s say a YouTube video) the source video will freeze for a few seconds, then the video will begin and audio begins playing through the speaker. When I stop the source on my MacBook, the audio will continue to play through my Sonos Roam for a few seconds before stopping. And sometimes, the audio and video can even get out of sync which is very annoying and requires me to refresh the page. Does anyone know why this is happening? It seems like some kind of buffering that I’d like to disable if possible. Cheers
After the app forced an update last week, my Sonos Roam is now useless just as the warranty has expired. I can’t power it on, it doesn’t charge on the base charger, and when I plug it into the plug in charger, the orange light comes on but never goes off. I’ve tried the 12 second reset and nothing. Any ideas?
Does ROAM work with 1st generation Sonos speakers?
Considering purchasing a Roam SL for travel use. It would not be connected to a WiFi system since most places I travel do not have reliable WiFi. It would be connected to either Bluetooth or Airplay on my iphone. I would be able to do any initial setup with it connected to WiFi as part of my home Sonos system. My question is: Would I still be able to use the alarm function? That is, would the speaker wake up and play music? Would using my phone as a hotspot work or be needed?Or, how would I do this?
I have just added a Sonos roam to my system, yet when I connect and select music to play , no sound comes from the device?
Once you look around on-line and at support cases on the Sonos site, you will see that the Roam dies shortly after the warranty period. Once beyond the 12 month warranty period, Sonos says you are out of luck. It is an expensive paper weight. Don’t bother with support if you bought more than 12 months ago: This is what Sonos will tell you about the Roam. “I'm afraid that according to the information from our system, your Sonos Roam is out of warranty since MM/DD/YYYY. For this replacement, we can offer a 30% discount on the replacement unit since it is outside the warranty period. You will need to send your unit back to us, and we'll be sending you a coupon code you can use on sonos.com to get a product or set of speakers. Please, let me know if you want to proceed with this process. It will be a pleasure to help you.” So basically, it’s a product that dies with a poor quality power issue. Don’t buy the Roam. Other speakers are good, but stay away from the Roam
I have onkyo rz-810 receiver with port hook up no sound from my surround sound to move 2 speakers!
Move bought about 8 months ago has stopped doing anything. Wont charge with ring, no lights through usb. Cant read a voltage at the two pins on the ring. Pushing and holding reset buttons doesn’t do anything. It’s effectively bricked. Anything I can do?
Hi there!I tried digging around various help topics on the forum but to no avail! I still want to try posting and find out if there is indeed a solution or I am being overly optimistic.I have a Sonos Move (2020 model) that was working perfectly fine all these days. Until recently, I noticed that the battery would discharge on its own while sitting on the charging base. I have never used a USB-C charger with this unit before. From the forum , I found various suggestions to do a reset (power button pressed 15 seconds off the base, and power button with 15 seconds on the base) that seemed to work and would reset and power on the system and start charging the unit. Again, within a day or two, I saw the battery drain (indicated by the low battery sound). I repeated the above steps and it worked.Recently, it once again drained out completely and this time the orange LED kept continuously blinking while sitting on the charging base and reset did not solve the problem. Finally, the orange LED
I have a google nest doorbell, the wireless kind. The doorbell chime is supposed to play over google nest speakers. I don’t want a device with a microphone permanently listening in my house, so I bought a Sonos Roam SL in the hopes I could get the doorbell chime to play on that. I’ve hit a dead end. Has anyone done this successfully? I enabled notifications on the doorbell and the speaker is showing in my Google Home app, but I’m not sure how to get the notifications to work on the speaker. Google tech support will not help, I’ve tried. I also downloaded Google Assistant, where it says that there’s one Sonos device linked but it doesn’t display anywhere in the app. If I get it to display in Google Assistant I can create a Routine that starts when the doorbell rings which should trigger the action of making an announcement, but its saying “no device for audio available” on the routine creation page. Has anyone been able to use a Roam SL for this sort of thing? Open to any and all sugge
I have a new Sonos Roam and pleased with it so far but cant get it to connect to my laptop via Bluetooth! Both are on the same Wi Fi network, it is connecting to other devices seamlessly and I can see the Roam in the recognised Bluetooth devices, but cant get an option to actually connect it!Would appreciate any advice and thanks
Hello,My Sonos Roam (owned for almost 2 years) suddenly won’t power on even after staying on a charger (both wireless charging and with cord). I’ve tried doing the 12 second power button hold for a factory reset but it doesn’t do anything. Please help!
As long as I downgrade the Sonos Move in the S2 app can I use a Sonos Move on the same system with a Sonos Play 3?
Seems to be a common discussion on this topic. Less than 2 years old and my roam is dead. Tried all the tricks and tips from support and still dead. Here is 30% off thanks bye from support. How are they still standing behind this and selling this thing with all the known problems? Its a great speaker when working. Really don't want to buy another one because I'm afraid of being in the same boat again. Is it really worth paying $200+ for the move? Seems like there should be a better option.
Recently my Sonos Roam has a crackling sound. When using the Tune In Radio, it is at the start of turning it on. After being on the phone with Sonos Customer Support and trying different items, it seems to happen more on Sonos Radio and other radio stations. It does not occur with Amazon music but does with Apple Airplay.
Registered Sonos Roam absent from system list. Unable to locate missing Roam. Why would my registered product be missing from account?
I am experiencing a short battery life with new Move 2. I get roughly 6 hours between charges. Using halo charger that came with the unit. Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong?
I'm surprised by the use of a subpar battery in Sonos products, and it's disappointing that they haven't initiated a product recall or offered battery replacements. This experience has eroded my trust in Sonos, and I'm uncertain about relying on them in the future. Additionally, I expected more assistance from customer service. Long story short, if you are facing battery issues with ROAM, that is expected and you just need to live with it. Sonos will not do anything
Can I add a Move 1 to a group that includes a Beam and 2 ERA 100s
Until recently it was possible to start and pause play from the button on top of my Move when connected to my iPhone over AirPlay. Now I can pause if the speaker is playing, but if I press ‘play’ again the indicator light flashes white but audio doesn’t play. I am on the most recent software for my iPhone and the Move, I can’t tell if this is an AirPlay bug or a Sonos bug (also it is impossible to search this topic because Sonos has a product called Play, and ‘play audio’ is what I’m enquiring about, and the button on top of the speaker is the play button...).
Will a Sonos Boost help with the strength of connecting a Roam Speaker to a Ray Soundbar with a Ethernet cable for outdoor listening capabilities?I currently have the Roam connected to the Ray but suffer drop outs when I bring the Roam outdoors
I have a Sonos Roam speaker. And when I wake they’re up from sleep mode, my airplay stutters. I have to reboot the audio speaker. I tried to transfer from iPhone, Apple TV, MacBook Pro the result is the same. With such lags, the speaker normally plays music from the streams built into the system and Bluetooth.
The roam is my first Sonos product, a present by my kids, received two weeks ago. I have seen all the reports on playback stutter posted in the forum and elsewhere. I have that issue constantly, usually the second time i turn on the roam on any given day. I got the speaker for its airplay function and it because it does not have run on AC, not for bluetooth. I also have two HomePod minis in my house. While they only run on AC they have performed flawlessly in Airplay. All my iDevices are Airplay 2 compatible. I see no solutions to this Roam problem in the replies posted by sonos, other than „send a diagnostic“. But i see no synthesis of the diagnostics data obtained by sonos that tells forum posters whose speakers airplay-stutter what to do to solve the problem. As a result, I decided to that I will return my Roam and will ask my kids to get me a different brand speaker. It is disappointing because i do like the sound of the roam (the few times airplay actually worked) better than that
Hi All,I’ve been trying to connect my Sonos Move to my PC (Windows 11) over Bluetooth and nothing seems to get it to work. I’ve disconnected, connected, removed the device, turned off Sonos Move, restarted the computer, DisableAbsoluteVolume, Windows Troubleshoot, etc. My Sonos Move works with my Cellphone, TV, Sonos App (using Spotify for example) and other devices. I ran out of options since I could not find anything else over Google or Sonos Forum (and other forums, e.g. Reddit). Some of the questions actually is from years ago and seems to no have a solution, so I’m starting to think this is an issue with PC/Windows.I tested my PC with other 2 Bluetooth devices and it works, so is not my PC.Strange thing is that when I go to (over Windows) System > Sound > Properties (Sonos Move), I can see the sound bar “playing sound”, but no sound in the speaker. To add more things that I tried: Audio Enhancements Off, Spatial Sound Off, Set as Default, Restart Bluetooth Services, Bluetooth
I have a Sonos Roam and I am able to connect it to my Windows 11 PC and see that audio is being transmitted to it, however no audio comes out of the speaker. I have tried unpairing and re-pairing, a factory reset, etc… I confirmed that the issue is not the speaker itself, it connects to my Win10 laptop and my Pixel 7 (Android) via bluetooth with no issue. I’m also able to connect my Sony XM5 headphones via bluetooth and a cheap bluetooth speaker to my Win11 PC. I am able to stream audio to the Sonos speaker via the Sonos App but this is clunky and I just want to connect it via BT directly to my computer. I ended up contacting Sonos support who told me it must be a Windows issue so I reached out to Microsoft support and we confirmed the device is detected and the drivers are all setup correctly. Next I tried reaching out to ASUS to check and see if there was a driver update and they pointed me back to Sonos. I got into a remote session with Sonos support and they were unable to figure o
