With this week’s update, many things are broken again. Including now my Roam is “unable to connect”. This happened shortly after the first release of this new piece of junk app but was later fixed. Now it is broke again and my Roam is useless for now. I am so fed up with Sonos…. As a software engineering manager and configuration control expert, it frustrates me beyond belief when a “professional” organization breaks things that once worked. I am looking forward to a big class action suit. I won’t even start on what else is broke again… did you just push out the original new app?
Is anyone having trouble with their sonos roam battery. It seems to be shockingly poor at retaining charge. It goes from full to 10% in about 2hrs. This is not what I would expect from a premium sonos product.I recently purchased a portable JBL Flip speaker about the same size as the roam and it gives about 10 hours play time consistently. And it cost half the price of the roam with the same sound quality. It also retains the charge when off.The roam discharges in about a day even when switched off. Overall the Roam is really rubbish product. Do I just have a faulty model or are all the Roams this bad
Just updated to the new Sonos app and Rome will not connect to the app. Information in the app says Rome is not registered. Let’s fix it. I keep going through the steps and it fails each time. I have done a factory reset and a reboot and nothing has resolved the issue
Ok so my roam was working fine for several years until I let it run out of battery. I then charged it but it wouldn’t turn on properly, just kept flashing white.Factory reset it and I get to the point it flashes green/white. App detects it, plus the little turn but it gets to a point where it says ‘adding to WiFi’ which sits there for ages and eventually fails. If I check my router I can see the Roam has added and even has an IP but doesn’t show in the Sonos app, its flashing white at this point again.Logged out of the appreset the appreset my access points and routerother speakers are fineMy WiFi has 2.4ghz and 5ghz and its UbiquitiThanks
Why is so difficult to connect a Play 1 to a new wifi router? I have spent a lifetime working in IT and this must be one of my worst experiences. I can connect with a network cable but when I try to manage the network to set up wifi I get an error message “no products found”! I might as well be talking to a brick. I have spent several hours reading and following guides on both the Sonos site and this community without success. The setup guide on the sonos site for a Play 1 does not work, perhaps the person who produced it should actually try to use it. It does not offer any further help other than to look on the community site.I also own a BlueSound system with 3 components, which is several years older, but took only minutes to connect to the new router. The Sonos uk support is impossible to contact - wait time 106 minutes - really?. No email contact. It seems that Sonos are only interested in their new products and do not support older products - less than 4years?. Lots o
Has anyone else had issues with their Roam SL re-connecting to your system after a power cycle? I can force it to play through Airplay and Apple Music, but it absolutely WILL NOT connect to my Sonos system—ever. I reboot, re-connect, see that the speaker is listed as a speaker in my system, but it will not play. I have upgraded the Sonos app on my phone to the latest version, and AFAIK there isn’t an outstanding upgrade for the Roam SL. Hugely frustrating, so I’m hoping someone has a suggestion, a hack or a fix other than using Airplay.
In a nutshell, I am running a SPA with 3 cabines, which each of them have a Sonos Move.I purchased them a little bit less than 2 years ago. Two of them are used daily, a third one has been rarely used. Today, all of them are not charging anymore on their support, but I was able to charge via the USB.I tried the solution provided on the different forum, which indicate that if the problem persists, you need to contact Sonos Support.I tried to call the line in Switzerland. First time, the waiting time is 40 minutes. 10 minutes later, the waiting time is 50 minutes.I tried the chat, doesn’t work.Is there a solution to this problem ? Is it the charging base that have an issue .
I’m creating a new thread as I tried asking in several other threads but haven’t yet heard back from anyoneI have this same Roam issue where you can kind of add it via iPhone app, but then it says “not registered” and when you click on “fix it” it gives error code 1,008. Everyone saying use windows app to update itBut how on earth are people getting the desktop app to update anything? I have downloaded, deleted and redownloaded the desktop app on my pc multiple times and never am I asked to update anything (I am using the latest app for windows). I have tried resetting my roam, adding it via my phone, getting to the “not registered” point, hitting fix it, then leaving it open on the screen when I see “error 1,008” and then I try to start up the desktop app but nothing happens. If I click on join an existing system, it just asks me to configure firewall and then opens the app but no mention of any updates and no sign of my roam within the devices. Only lists my other speakers that have
Hi, Sonos Community. My husband received a Roam 2 as a gift and we were excited to add it to our existing Sonos system. We have a One (wired) and Play 1 (wireless) in our existing set-up and they work perfectly. We updated to the latest version of the Sonos App before we added the Roam 2 to our system. The connection process was smooth and the App sees the three speakers and says they are all connected. We are unable to play music from the Roam 2, however, and we’ve tried selecting it alone and grouped with the other speakers (which is how we would almost always use it.) When we select the roam we get an “Unable to connect. Please try again later message” Again, our One and Play 1 are working perfectly.I spent an hour on hold last night with customer service (no agent event answered) and have tried the live chat mutliple times (the bot keeps saying there are no agents available) so this is my last shot at resolving the issue before we return the speaker. We already have an ama
I have a pretty specific issue. I have a projector (Epson 4K Projector EH-TW7000) hooked up to my apple tv (4k) with hdmi. I’m considering the purchase of a sonos sound bar, and to try it out I figured I’d hook up my sonos roam. It pairs seamlessly (although it will not allow me to set it up as a default audio device) and while watching something I’m quite happy with it.But, each time new media is started (e.g. a youtube video, but even each seperate ad), or when I exit media to the menu, the image goes black for about 15 seconds (audio continues). This problem does not occur when I use a different screen with the same setup, of when I play the audio through my projector only.I hope this sounds familiar to someone!
I'm not able to complete the software update for my Sonos roam sl. I'm using android phone Asus Rog phone 7. The speaker connected to WiFi showing in the app but when it comes to the update it says error 1101 and when I try again it shows error 1106. I tried for hours to reset everything my phone my router my speaker. The WiFi works just fine for everything else but the Sonos app. I'm really angry I don't understand why I have to go through all this update hustle to use a Bluetooth speaker. I will never use WiFi on it. I should be able to just turn it on and blast some music. Now it looks like I have bought a 200 dollar paperweight
Got a new Roam that manages to connect to WiFi during setup but then told the speaker needs to update. It won't update for some reason and then the app (android) is just stuck on that screen. Tried factory resetting speaker and re installing app etc but still isn't working. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any help.
I am trying to add this brand new Move 2 to my existing system. The setup fails saying to try again later. The speaker appears in my system but says “Move 2 is not registered”.I’ve been at this for hours.
Hello,I have a Roam 2 and pair it with my Mac studio as a primary speaker. I connect using Bluetooth, when the Roam was new ( a month or so) it worked perfectly but now I get a delay. I have tried resetting the Roam by pressing the on/off button for 15 seconds until the lights come back on. After resetting it works perfectly for 1 or two youtube videos and then reverts back to the annoying delay. So the scenario is to click on a youtube video and I have counted as much as 5 seconds of watching lips move with no sound? I have then reset the roam, restarted the mac ect, ect, and yes it works fine for around 4 or five videos and then starts misbehaving again. I have also tried different browsers to no avail. I also have an amazon echo dot, it works perfectly every time with no delay?Any thoughts appreciated.Regards,Simon
My sonos roam has stopped working i have tried various different reset methods but its just dead. The orange charge light comes on when plugged into a charger but once unplugged its dead
My barely two-year old Move stopped charging or working at all. I tried all of the recommended fixes, but it was completely unresponsive. I replaced the battery and tried everything again. Nothing. Sat on hold for an hour to then have a support person walk me through the same steps before telling me that the unit was out of warranty and the only thing she could offer me was 15% off my next Sonos purchase. No repair options available. No replacement options. No information on what they’ve done to fix the issue. Nothing. What a disappointment. From what I can see online, this appears to be a fairly widespread problem with this product. The company should handle it better than by asking for a bunch more money for what could easily be another poorly done product. So, for anyone who can benefit from this, be warned. Buy something else.
I have contacted Sonos 4 times now as not received my UPS shipping label via my email always say resending but getting frustrated now as still nothing speaker packed and ready to go as faulty promised a new one when they get the old one back not sure what to do now
I cannot make my Roam reconnect. I’ve been using it and it’s been working fine, but now I don’t seem to be able to reconnect it again. It shows up in the list and I can chose it, but I get an error message: “unable to connect”. What do I do?
Hi Team, I have a Roam (and a move and many other products) but my Roam just stopped turning on. Tried all the YouTube videos, but cant get it going. Any suggestions? Pretty frustrating for a premium product like this to go at 1 year.
Have Playbase, LG TV and Sky Q…sound has started dropping out though indicator light on Playbase remains constant and blue.I have to put the volume back up using Sky remote.i have turned off tv, Sonos and Sky before restarting and likewise with the by hub…still sound falls away…getting a tad frustrated.
Hi, I’ve tried connecting my new Move 2 Sonos to an existing Sonos system (Sonos Amp 2 and Sonos sub) however every time I try I get the same error: could not link move 2 to Sonos system. I have tried factory resetting the move 2 , doesn’t work. I have tried turning everything off and back on, doesn’t work. Really frustrated considering I bought this today and thought it was just plug in, connect and play. Ive tried calling Sonos but they are not open here in the UK on Saturday.
I have reset the MOVE over 10 times. I am 2 plus hours trying to reconnect this thing. I have reset my phone, my network, and all my other SONOS products work. It says the app is updated. get through the setup process, and the app FAILS activating your sonos move to your system. NOTE - when I log into SONOS website, I see my move listed. I see all 7 products. I am officially lost for options. The error in the app is “move is not registered” - FIX IT. I go through the FIX IT process, I hear the chimes, I follow directions, I push the button, more chimes, and then it says “Linking your Sonos Move to you account...” and then it just spins for a while...and then it says “There was a problem adding your Sonos Move to your system. Can someone reset my app or delete it from my purchase history??? So I can add new??? No clue. This sucks.
My roam does not turn on
Since the app update, I have been unable to connect my roam to other speakers. I can play music over WiFi and Bluetooth on the roam by itself but once I try to connect to another room I get “unable to connect try again later”. I have turned it off and back on, I have reset my router and I have signed in and out of the app…issue still exists. Any thoughts on how to fix this? It’s super frustrating and I tried to connect with support but the wait time is 120 minutes (why no call back option?).
