I have a Sonos Roam 1 and 2. I at times have trouble connecting both to the speaker group. If update the software it finally connects. I do not gave to do this for the SL or the Soundbar. I did find that Sonos provides Roam updates every two weeks starting in July 2022. That is fine but why can’t I add the Roams without an update? If that is your policy then at least give me a message. At this point I have put a reminder in my calendar every two weeks to update the software every two weeks. Love your products but this is silly. I do only turn on and off the Roams only when in use. i do realize it can’t do auto updates. I get no notification to update the software just doesn’t connect. Please provide an update to your software to check the version and recommend an update on power up. Seems like a reasonable ask. Thank you.
I get reliable sound quality on my Roam via bluetooth connection. But when I use that bluetooth Roam as the source for a group of speakers on my system via wifi, the sound constantly dropps for a split second---over and over again--on the wifi connect speakers, while the roam speaker remains constant.
I have a Roam (gen 1) and I’d like to now if I get a Roam 2 (as they’re cheaper), will I be able to create a stereo pair (using wifi - I understand this is not possible with Bluetooth). Or do I need to get another gen 1 Roam?
It doesn’t respond to my commands. It doesn’t work no “on”no nothing
My Roam had been plugged in but unused for several months (it is in a vacation house that I visit only periodically). When I attempted to use it, it would not turn on. I scanned this forum and found many others in the same boat and saw suggestions for attempting to get the Roam to work - none of them worked. I initiated a chat with Sonos Tech Support (note: phone wait was over 90 minutes and I was 30th in line for chat attention, but I hung in there). The very helpful technician had me go through the troubleshooting steps (12 second power button, 5 second power button and play button) but nothing worked. Sonos will replace my Roam with a Roam 2. The technician strongly recommended that when a Roam is not going to be used for an extended period of time, it should be disconnected from the power (either USB-C or wireless). While it is unclear what an extended period of time means, I’ll try this with my new Roam 2. I hope this works for me and other Roam/Roam 2 owners.

Currently in Sweden with my Sonos Move but without its docking charger. Plan was to operate through USB-C charging only during the trip but it doesn’t seem to be working. Any ideas/advice from across the community.
How do I remove a Sonos roam from the S2 App? The roam is dead and no longer connects to the system and therefore needs to be removed from the device list.
When playing my move 2 either through wifi or bluetooth it cuts out for split second and comes back on again. Its a bit frustrating when listening
I would like to play music at a family cookout in a local park. Is there a way to set up 1 or even 2 Moves?
Sonos Roam is not powering on. I have had it for about 2 years and it has always charged properly and powered on properly. I have switched the charging cable and charging block out and also plugged into a powered USB A charging outlet without the charging adapter and left it for awhile. The charging light never comes on. I have also tried a factory reset on it. Nothing appears to resolve the issue. Any thoughts on why it might be dead and how to resurrect it (other than what I have already tried)?
Move 2 speakers cannot register to your system or receive software updates wirelessly via Bluetooth in the way that all Sonos speakers with power cords can. However, They can be registered and updated if they are connected to the internet using a hard wire adapter as follows:Purchase (or ask Sonos to send you free of charge) a Sonos “ethernet to USB – C” adapter. (This adapter is available on the Sonos website for $39.) Plug the USB – C connector of the andapter into the small opening near the bottom of the rear of the speaker. Plug the ethernet connector of the adapter into an open port of your modem/router. Follow instructions on the Sonos app to “add a new speaker.” With the speaker now, having hardwired direct access to the Internet, it will automatically receive updates and be able to register itself to your system. Enjoy music wherever you place the speakers in range of your Wi-Fi!StephenMB

My Roam 2 speaker, when connected to my phone (whether via Bluetooth or WiFi), intermittently produces hissing noise. Even when playing music, if it’s soft music, I can still notice this buzzing noise similar to electrical interference. Placing the speaker close to my ear, I discovered that the noise is coming from the lower part of the speaker (below the Sonos logo). Could this be a quality issue with the product? Is there a setting in the Sonos app that can resolve this issue, or can I request a replacement? I am very satisfied with the design and sound quality of the Roam 2, but this white noise issue is quite bothersome.
Sonos Move suddenly stopped connecting to the network, only the white light blinks. Reset attempts do not help. In addition to Move, I also have Amp and Ikea Symfonisk on the network, all connected wirelessly. Everything worked without problems for several years.During testing, I noticed that if I turn off Amp, Move connects to the network and is visible in the application. When Amp is reconnected to power, Move stops playing music and is removed from the app. SYMFONISK is also disconnected from the network for a while.Diagnostic data ************Please help. Moderator edit: Diagnostic number recorded and removed.
My Sonos move 2 speaker will not turn on. The other speaker in pair is on, but cannot connect because they are paired. help
Hi,I have both Roam and Move 2. The problem I am having is finding the battery life of each of these items. My mobile (android) has the new app and I can find the battery life on this (not as good as the previous version of the app but there are enough comments on this already). However, I use the PC (windows) version of the app to mainly control the Move 2. However, I cannot find anywhere on the PC app version, battery life of my speakers. Each time, I have to use the app on my mobile. One of the problem with the new app is that it doesn’t always connect to the speakers and so I have to reload it several times whereas the PC version doesn’t suffer from this problem and seems much more stable. However, it doesn’t appear to have the same functionality, it does all I ask of it except I can’t find out the battery life of the speakers and its a pain having to access my mobile to see the battery life. Does anyone know how to access battery life through the PC (windows) version of the
Hi all Can’t connect to our new Move 2 in our new italian summer house. We have wify and many sonos products at home. the app will not see the move 2??
Since the latest Sonos app update my Roam has connection issues. It shows in the app as an available speaker but an error message pops up “Unable to connect. Try again later”.All other speakers connect and play, except the Roam.
I have a Roam speaker and hav had issues with it from day one. It will not stay connected to my system so I have to add it back in every time I try and use it, and when I say try and use it after adding it back in to the system the audio never works. It says it is okay but there is no sound from this speaker. Frustrating to say the leastAlso I have tried to contact guest services and continually get booted from chat Moderator edit: combined posts
My Sonos move is flashing white, I have tried multiple times to do a factory reset. I have no chime when I turn it off like the reset mentions. Speaker also no longer is showing up on the app. I have updated my network with no success to the speaker. Has anyone successfully done a factory reset without hearing the charm etc. Is the speaker done with?
When Sonos ‘upgraded’ its app, I pretty much lost everything. I have a large music collection and I prefer to keep it on my MacBook where there is enough storage for it. When the ‘upgrade’ occurred, I had already spent HOURS getting the app working again after an automatic update happened sometime in January while I was away. I returned home and none of the 8 speakers matched their labels anymore, songs would not play completely and music bounced from one speaker to another. When I called Sonos, one rep told me I should not have set the updates to automatic. Another one altered my email so the remedy didn’t get to me for several weeks--after I wrote a snail mail letter to the CEO. I have now moved away from the Sonos app and am just using Apple AirPlay. Is anyone else going this route? I don’t have many of the issues I was having with Sonos.
Problem with Sonos Roam after App update. Cannot use Roam as speaker to my phone to hear You Tube videos via Bluetooth. It works a short time after Roam factory reset, then stops working - seemingly because the Sonos App overrides it. It will still work for music through the app, but no sound with bluetooth connection to phone, even though my phone says bluetooth IS connected to Roam. Both Roam and phone are connected to same wifi. I used to be able to switch from hearing music through Sonos App to hearing talk from YouTube videos through bluetooth connection to Roam. The problem is new, after the recent big update of Sonos App.
