When playing my move 2 either through wifi or bluetooth it cuts out for split second and comes back on again. Its a bit frustrating when listening
I would like to play music at a family cookout in a local park. Is there a way to set up 1 or even 2 Moves?
Sonos Roam is not powering on. I have had it for about 2 years and it has always charged properly and powered on properly. I have switched the charging cable and charging block out and also plugged into a powered USB A charging outlet without the charging adapter and left it for awhile. The charging light never comes on. I have also tried a factory reset on it. Nothing appears to resolve the issue. Any thoughts on why it might be dead and how to resurrect it (other than what I have already tried)?
Move 2 speakers cannot register to your system or receive software updates wirelessly via Bluetooth in the way that all Sonos speakers with power cords can. However, They can be registered and updated if they are connected to the internet using a hard wire adapter as follows:Purchase (or ask Sonos to send you free of charge) a Sonos “ethernet to USB – C” adapter. (This adapter is available on the Sonos website for $39.) Plug the USB – C connector of the andapter into the small opening near the bottom of the rear of the speaker. Plug the ethernet connector of the adapter into an open port of your modem/router. Follow instructions on the Sonos app to “add a new speaker.” With the speaker now, having hardwired direct access to the Internet, it will automatically receive updates and be able to register itself to your system. Enjoy music wherever you place the speakers in range of your Wi-Fi!StephenMB

My Roam 2 speaker, when connected to my phone (whether via Bluetooth or WiFi), intermittently produces hissing noise. Even when playing music, if it’s soft music, I can still notice this buzzing noise similar to electrical interference. Placing the speaker close to my ear, I discovered that the noise is coming from the lower part of the speaker (below the Sonos logo). Could this be a quality issue with the product? Is there a setting in the Sonos app that can resolve this issue, or can I request a replacement? I am very satisfied with the design and sound quality of the Roam 2, but this white noise issue is quite bothersome.
Sonos Move suddenly stopped connecting to the network, only the white light blinks. Reset attempts do not help. In addition to Move, I also have Amp and Ikea Symfonisk on the network, all connected wirelessly. Everything worked without problems for several years.During testing, I noticed that if I turn off Amp, Move connects to the network and is visible in the application. When Amp is reconnected to power, Move stops playing music and is removed from the app. SYMFONISK is also disconnected from the network for a while.Diagnostic data ************Please help. My Sonos move 2 speaker will not turn on. The other speaker in pair is on, but cannot connect because they are paired. help
Hi,I have both Roam and Move 2. The problem I am having is finding the battery life of each of these items. My mobile (android) has the new app and I can find the battery life on this (not as good as the previous version of the app but there are enough comments on this already). However, I use the PC (windows) version of the app to mainly control the Move 2. However, I cannot find anywhere on the PC app version, battery life of my speakers. Each time, I have to use the app on my mobile. One of the problem with the new app is that it doesn’t always connect to the speakers and so I have to reload it several times whereas the PC version doesn’t suffer from this problem and seems much more stable. However, it doesn’t appear to have the same functionality, it does all I ask of it except I can’t find out the battery life of the speakers and its a pain having to access my mobile to see the battery life. Does anyone know how to access battery life through the PC (windows) version of the
Hi all Can’t connect to our new Move 2 in our new italian summer house. We have wify and many sonos products at home. the app will not see the move 2??
Since the latest Sonos app update my Roam has connection issues. It shows in the app as an available speaker but an error message pops up “Unable to connect. Try again later”.All other speakers connect and play, except the Roam.
I have a Roam speaker and hav had issues with it from day one. It will not stay connected to my system so I have to add it back in every time I try and use it, and when I say try and use it after adding it back in to the system the audio never works. It says it is okay but there is no sound from this speaker. Frustrating to say the leastAlso I have tried to contact guest services and continually get booted from chat Moderator edit: combined posts
My Sonos move is flashing white, I have tried multiple times to do a factory reset. I have no chime when I turn it off like the reset mentions. Speaker also no longer is showing up on the app. I have updated my network with no success to the speaker. Has anyone successfully done a factory reset without hearing the charm etc. Is the speaker done with?
When Sonos ‘upgraded’ its app, I pretty much lost everything. I have a large music collection and I prefer to keep it on my MacBook where there is enough storage for it. When the ‘upgrade’ occurred, I had already spent HOURS getting the app working again after an automatic update happened sometime in January while I was away. I returned home and none of the 8 speakers matched their labels anymore, songs would not play completely and music bounced from one speaker to another. When I called Sonos, one rep told me I should not have set the updates to automatic. Another one altered my email so the remedy didn’t get to me for several weeks--after I wrote a snail mail letter to the CEO. I have now moved away from the Sonos app and am just using Apple AirPlay. Is anyone else going this route? I don’t have many of the issues I was having with Sonos.
Problem with Sonos Roam after App update. Cannot use Roam as speaker to my phone to hear You Tube videos via Bluetooth. It works a short time after Roam factory reset, then stops working - seemingly because the Sonos App overrides it. It will still work for music through the app, but no sound with bluetooth connection to phone, even though my phone says bluetooth IS connected to Roam. Both Roam and phone are connected to same wifi. I used to be able to switch from hearing music through Sonos App to hearing talk from YouTube videos through bluetooth connection to Roam. The problem is new, after the recent big update of Sonos App.
With this week’s update, many things are broken again. Including now my Roam is “unable to connect”. This happened shortly after the first release of this new piece of junk app but was later fixed. Now it is broke again and my Roam is useless for now. I am so fed up with Sonos…. As a software engineering manager and configuration control expert, it frustrates me beyond belief when a “professional” organization breaks things that once worked. I am looking forward to a big class action suit. I won’t even start on what else is broke again… did you just push out the original new app?
Is anyone having trouble with their sonos roam battery. It seems to be shockingly poor at retaining charge. It goes from full to 10% in about 2hrs. This is not what I would expect from a premium sonos product.I recently purchased a portable JBL Flip speaker about the same size as the roam and it gives about 10 hours play time consistently. And it cost half the price of the roam with the same sound quality. It also retains the charge when off.The roam discharges in about a day even when switched off. Overall the Roam is really rubbish product. Do I just have a faulty model or are all the Roams this bad
Just updated to the new Sonos app and Rome will not connect to the app. Information in the app says Rome is not registered. Let’s fix it. I keep going through the steps and it fails each time. I have done a factory reset and a reboot and nothing has resolved the issue
Ok so my roam was working fine for several years until I let it run out of battery. I then charged it but it wouldn’t turn on properly, just kept flashing white.Factory reset it and I get to the point it flashes green/white. App detects it, plus the little turn but it gets to a point where it says ‘adding to WiFi’ which sits there for ages and eventually fails. If I check my router I can see the Roam has added and even has an IP but doesn’t show in the Sonos app, its flashing white at this point again.Logged out of the appreset the appreset my access points and routerother speakers are fineMy WiFi has 2.4ghz and 5ghz and its UbiquitiThanks
Why is so difficult to connect a Play 1 to a new wifi router? I have spent a lifetime working in IT and this must be one of my worst experiences. I can connect with a network cable but when I try to manage the network to set up wifi I get an error message “no products found”! I might as well be talking to a brick. I have spent several hours reading and following guides on both the Sonos site and this community without success. The setup guide on the sonos site for a Play 1 does not work, perhaps the person who produced it should actually try to use it. It does not offer any further help other than to look on the community site.I also own a BlueSound system with 3 components, which is several years older, but took only minutes to connect to the new router. The Sonos uk support is impossible to contact - wait time 106 minutes - really?. No email contact. It seems that Sonos are only interested in their new products and do not support older products - less than 4years?. Lots o
Has anyone else had issues with their Roam SL re-connecting to your system after a power cycle? I can force it to play through Airplay and Apple Music, but it absolutely WILL NOT connect to my Sonos system—ever. I reboot, re-connect, see that the speaker is listed as a speaker in my system, but it will not play. I have upgraded the Sonos app on my phone to the latest version, and AFAIK there isn’t an outstanding upgrade for the Roam SL. Hugely frustrating, so I’m hoping someone has a suggestion, a hack or a fix other than using Airplay.
In a nutshell, I am running a SPA with 3 cabines, which each of them have a Sonos Move.I purchased them a little bit less than 2 years ago. Two of them are used daily, a third one has been rarely used. Today, all of them are not charging anymore on their support, but I was able to charge via the USB.I tried the solution provided on the different forum, which indicate that if the problem persists, you need to contact Sonos Support.I tried to call the line in Switzerland. First time, the waiting time is 40 minutes. 10 minutes later, the waiting time is 50 minutes.I tried the chat, doesn’t work.Is there a solution to this problem ? Is it the charging base that have an issue .
I’m creating a new thread as I tried asking in several other threads but haven’t yet heard back from anyoneI have this same Roam issue where you can kind of add it via iPhone app, but then it says “not registered” and when you click on “fix it” it gives error code 1,008. Everyone saying use windows app to update itBut how on earth are people getting the desktop app to update anything? I have downloaded, deleted and redownloaded the desktop app on my pc multiple times and never am I asked to update anything (I am using the latest app for windows). I have tried resetting my roam, adding it via my phone, getting to the “not registered” point, hitting fix it, then leaving it open on the screen when I see “error 1,008” and then I try to start up the desktop app but nothing happens. If I click on join an existing system, it just asks me to configure firewall and then opens the app but no mention of any updates and no sign of my roam within the devices. Only lists my other speakers that have
Hi, Sonos Community. My husband received a Roam 2 as a gift and we were excited to add it to our existing Sonos system. We have a One (wired) and Play 1 (wireless) in our existing set-up and they work perfectly. We updated to the latest version of the Sonos App before we added the Roam 2 to our system. The connection process was smooth and the App sees the three speakers and says they are all connected. We are unable to play music from the Roam 2, however, and we’ve tried selecting it alone and grouped with the other speakers (which is how we would almost always use it.) When we select the roam we get an “Unable to connect. Please try again later message” Again, our One and Play 1 are working perfectly.I spent an hour on hold last night with customer service (no agent event answered) and have tried the live chat mutliple times (the bot keeps saying there are no agents available) so this is my last shot at resolving the issue before we return the speaker. We already have an ama
