Hi I have an older model playbase and everything was working just fine until our power went out for about 5 seconds and then came back on. The play base was not in use when this happened. I had to reset all my other Sonos speakers and that was no problem but this isn’t working with the play base. I’ve followed the directions for reset (several times) but the light only blinks white and never switches to white/orange or green. Any other ideas about getting this fixed? Thanks.

I'm wanting more quality and volume in my car speakers so i was wondering if i could install my two Play ones and a play-base in my trunk. I don't want to rip anything up in my car or in the speakers, i wanna know if its possible to use some cables and the in car WiFi to get it to work. Would it be possible to buy a optical audio cable that goes in the play-base and comes out as an AUX cable, then plugging that into my aux port. Using a cigarette lighter converter to power the play-base and then using the in car WiFi to connect the speaker.

I have Playbase, Sub and two Ones as rear surrounds. Surrounds are in ambient mode (not "full" which I only use for music) but for content that clearly uses cinematic surround sound, the rear Ones are overpowering, to the point of distraction. Dialog and content from the Playbase can often seem too weak in comparison.

While setting up my Sonos Home Theater with Playbase, I ran into trouble turning off the TVs speakers and (I think) skipped the step where the TV's volume remote control controls the Sonos system volume. Everything else is working properly, but I can't change the Sonos system volume except with the buttons on top of the Playbase. Is there a way for me to properly use the TVs remote control volume to control the Sonos system volume without going through the whole setup process again?

new sonos kit and new TV. LG screen connected by HDMI ARC to Beam i want to play music through the two Play1s I have set up as cinema surround (front) though i dont see a setting to set up as rear surround. i want to be able to play music a stereo through sonos using ipad, TV music apps etc. Currently the dominant speaker is the Beam which i want to change - either turn off or adjust down. cheers

I received the Beam today and I am trying to it up. I haven't been able to connect any input source through HDMI. I have an HDMI ARC out on my onkyo receiver, and I also tried connecting my TV directly from the optical out on the TV. Both cases the app says it does not see any input signal. Anyone else facing the same issue? Anyone know how to fix it?

Just installed a Sony XBR900G and a Playbase. I wish Best Buy would have advised about compatibility issues between Sony (XBR) and SONOS (Playbase). It's almost impossible to sync audio with video when using DirecTV (HDR21). Any advice before I return the PlayBase?

Hi, I want to use my Sonos Beam (+ 2x Ones) to output audio from my BenQ W2000 projector (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B015OEK8YY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) The BenQ W2000 has neither HDMI ARC nor optical out. It only has one HDMI and one HDMI MHL socket. Is there are solution here? I have read that I can potentially use an HDMI ARC adaptor, or something about a receiver. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. my Sonos shows Family Room (+Sub), but no sound is coming from the Sub. I have been troubleshooting this for days. Forced Sonos speakers to be on the 2.4GHZ bandwidth by renaming a dual band router, made each speaker have its own DHCP reservation on my router, tried hardwiring an ethernet cable to the playbar. Under Advanced Settings / About My Sonos, It shows both Playbar and Sub, but it states "Warning: Your wireless network will not support the use of a Sub or surrounds with your Playbar". It worked perfectly for 2 weeks when all new, but have been having a lot of troubles getting it to all work smoothly again. The playbar kept losing its connection, but i think I got that sorted at least. Please help!!, as this is getting very frustrating for such an expensive sound system. Thanks,

Hi, is there any chance to set up Beam together with other device (set-top box IPTV) using one ARC HDMI TV input? As for now, I use IPTV box connected to TV via ARC HDMI port. It is connected via ARC in order to control TV and IPTV box on just one remote controller (ability to switch off both tv and IPTV together etc). My idea is to control all 3 devices (TV, Beam, IPTV box)via one remote controller... However, there is just one ARC HDMI port ony TV. Any thought? Cheers, Richard

Hello, I am new to Sonos Ecosystem. I recently purchased 2 Sonos one and a Playbase and connected them to my 55" Samsung UHD TV which is wall mounted. My Playbase is presently in a shelf and I am considering to play it on an open shelf. Please advise if I will still need a SUB even though the playbase comes with a small sub? Also when to use the Stereo Pair vs Surround sound with Sonos? I couldn't tell the difference in the sound between the 2 settings. At least with stereo pair, I can control the group/un group of Ones and Playbase. I loose that in Surround. Please advise. Thank you.

I've connected the Beam to my Sony Bravia XBR‑55X930D TV via the HDMI 4 port (which is the one they spec for ARC), but the Sonos app says it sees no signal. So I tried the digital audio out from the Sony using the adapter Sonos includes in the box with Beam. Doing that the app says it wants me to turn on the "CEC" setting on the TV, and that it doesn't recognize my brand of TV. Anybody else have this problem?

Is anyone else having an issue with their Sonos device and their TV? I have a brand new Beam and a brand new Samsung TV, and they were working perfectly for about a week, but now the TV doesn't recognize the Beam as an audio source. Honestly, I'm just trying to figure out if my issue is with the Beam or the TV. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am interested in making sure that I can use the Sonos beam with my hdtv. My tv does not have either a HDMI ARC or optical. However, I stream my content with an AppleTV. Can I use an HDMI ARC converter to use the Sonos beam on either my hdtv or AppleTV. If it helps, my tv serial number is 37MF231D/37 Magnavox. Phillips-Magavox calls it a legacy tv. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My TV supports ARC on one of two HDMI ports, where I currently connect my new Beam (works great!). I want to connect two devices to the other HDMI as input, and plan to use an HDMI switch. In this setup, should an HDMI switch support ARC to connect both an Apple TV and Nintendo Switch on the input (non-ARC) port?

Connected Beam to ARC point on Samsung television. Music works well but sound on TV keeps cutting out - any ideas ?

Hi, Recently I became the owner of a Sonos Beam soundbar. I connected this to my TV via HDMI ARC. I have some issues with the synchronisation of my TV sound. My audio output settings on my Philips 55POS9002 can be Stereo, Multichannel, Multichannel (bypass). My 4k kpn television experia box audio format can be set to Stereo, Dolby or Auto. It still suffer from lip-sync problems. On all devices it is possible to do things with the audio delay. What is the best combination of settings for the Beam ? Which audio format and where to set the delay ? Thanks in advance.

When I play music through my playbar the sub is not playing. In the Sonos app there is a Warning message: your wireless network will not support the use of a sub or surrounds with your Playbar. The IP addresses are different for the playbar and sub. I believe one of them may be on an extended network. How do I get them back together on the same network? Thanks

Hi everyone, New member here in need of some help. I've spent the last week trawling through the forums here and on the Virgin website, but can't seem to find a solution for my issue. My suspicion is that the problem is with Virgin, but I am posting this here in the hope someone might have already been through the same. My setup: I have a Virgin V6 box and a separate media player (NUC) both connected directly into my TV (Sony KD77A1) via HDMI cables, to HDMI input 3 (ARC) and HDMI input 1 respectively. The TV is connected to the Sonos Playbar via an optical Toslink digital audio cable, as part of the Sonos 5.1 home theater system. My problem: I only get stereo sound out of the V6, irrespective of the channel (SD, HD, 4K, etc). Further details: The V6 audio output option is set to Dolby Digital (but I have experimented with PCM as well, to no avail). The Sony TV definitely passes through Dolby Digital via the optical cable. A brief guide to my setup. I've got an Ethernet cable going from my router (Asus RT-AC3200) down to my lounge. From there, it connects to a switch (Netgear GS108Tv2). The switch then hooks up TV, Amazon FireTV, Blu Ray player, Logitech Harmony hub, a CD player, and a computer. And - ideally - my Playbase. And then I have a pair of Play:1s which I want to use as surrounds. I've had my Playbase since initial release (2017 Q1, I think) but even when I first set it up I struggled to get it to work from the switch. It turns out that I went with a wi-fi set-up back then, and all was more or less fine (one in a while I would need to reset my controller, but not frequently enough that it was a cause for concern). Yesterday, however, I had some problems - the surrounds dropped out, and I struggled to get them back. This happened twice in the space of about an hour - I submitted a diagnostic, and while the problem wasn't immediately apparent to Support, they pointed out that the 5GHz

I'm not able to get TV sound from the Beam with the Vizio P50-C1. I'm connected to the Sonos via HDMI-1, which is the ARC connection. I've also tried with Optical and still no sound.

So I got a Playbar for Xmas. My setup is 3-4 HDMI inputs into a pioneer receiver with 1 HDMI out to the TV which has no optical out. Obviously that's a problem. After attempting to get the optical on the receiver to work and failing I have optical running out of the back of the DirecTV Box. That won't work over the long run. I bought product ID 10251on mono price. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to have fixed the problem for whatever reason. If you've used this before and it has worked I'd like to know how you got it to work or that it does work the way I'd expect so I can continue to diagnose the problem as my receiver and not the Sonos or the mono price adapter. Ok so now I'm considering another option but I don't want to get something and have it not work. I'm considering getting rid of the receiver entirely (its 5 years old) and getting a 4x1 HDMI switch with optical out. Will that work and is there one that someone can confirm will in fact work with the Playbar? T

When I use the Optical/HDMI adapter and connect my Sonos Beam to my Panasonic TX55EZ952 through the Optical Port the audio is fine, but when I connect through HDMI I get no audio but the voice commands to power the TV on and off work, any ideas on why this is happening??

1. Scan for devices using Wi-Fi. 2. Sonos Beam detected and chosen. 3. Setup ask me for the correct modell. A) Sky S14 😎 Origen AE Technology S14V C) Technicolor S14B 4. I dont know which one to use but none of them manage to commuincate with by Beam. I have also tried to bypass the Hub (Remote directly to Beam) without success. So what to do to get it to communicate directly with Beam? I have verified that i'm connected to Wi-Fi. I know that you could use HDMI ARC on the TV to change volume through the TV but I prefer this and it should work.

Just got my beam and wondered if i can use any hdmi cable as i need a longer one then the one supplied , cheers
