Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Beam Generation 1I have a Beam Gen i 4 years or so old, about a couple of years ago it powered down while in use and would not restart after numerous attempts. I put it in storage and a few months ago dug it out, plugged it in and it ran as it should for about 10 minutes then once again it stopped working.My first question is. can what appears to be a simple fault be repaired in NZ  and if so where would I find  a repairer?If it cannot be repaired in  NZ should I dump it, regard it as a lesson and never buy another Sonos if that is the lifespan I can expect from Sonos a product.

After doing the sound pincode for pairing the Era 100 and my iPhone it starts connecting to my 2.4 GHz WIFI (While blinking green. After a while it stops showing any light and I get the message “Your Era has been added, but may not appear in your System. If so, unplug cord  etc” But even after doing that nothing happens. The Era just stops showing any colour at all. I have tried the following: Factory Reset.Reset Router + Sonos Era 100.Set my router to only run 2.4GHz (AI suggested it was easier to set up than via 5GHz) After the setup is done my Era 100 just stops showing any form of light. During the setup it alternates between White and Green but after a few cycles it just stops showing any light.  

Is the Roam speaker a manufacturer defect?I have 2 and have given up trying to reboot them. And all the other trouble shooting advice. I have serious thoughts of not buying a Sonos again. 

Hi I have questions about the Sonos app as the Arc has stopped working completely after the upgrade within about 3 days. My partner has failed to get it working at all.I am also a little concerned about the quality of the HDMI connector on the Sonos, seems not to have brilliant cable to socket interference (yes, it is a technical term for engineers). However this has been eliminated from the investigation, it’s just not a high quality detail. Any experiences welcome of cable manufacturers recommended?The app, what is happening with this?

I have an Apple TV 4k and Beam Gen 2 and recently it has been dropping volume when I turn it on or switch apps. How can I fix this this issue?

Has anything changed with regards to Sonos and Tical Connect support?It would need support for the specific Tidal Connect protocol, which Sonos would need to license/implement and certify. Qobuz is also about to deliver a similar offering.Hi-Res Flac streaming is a second priority for me. If Sonos has no plans to support it, then I would not be buying the Sonos Arc Ultra, which would really be a shame.Cheers - Gé 

I purchased/downloaded SonoPhone just to see what all the hype is about. It’s one of the  blandest  app’s I’ve ever seen. It reminds me of something from the 1990’s. As far as functionality goes….IMO it’s the old Sonos S1 app.Appearances...well once again a picture speaks volumes…..On the left is the SonoPhone showing “Music Services” and on the right is the Sonos App that shows “Your Services”. Oh..wait...the SonoPhone doesn’t show anything. I guess it couldn’t find them. 😂 Oh well...moving on….On the left is the SonoPhone “Playing Now” screen and on the right is the Sonos App “Playing Now” screen. Let’s not talk about which screen is more intuitive. The yellow circles on the Sonos App show what’s missing from the SonoPhone screen. The “volume level indicator” is only circled to show it’s readable at a glance; without having to touch the “volume slider” as is required on the SonoPhone screen. Let’s not forget the SonoPhone limitations. I am being presented with this lovely problem...“The sonos controller is currently running from another user on your computer. Please quit the Sonos controller from the other account before installing”.Problem is that there is no other user accounts on this device, no separate Sonos application running in the background, device has been rebooted and I’m still being presented with the error.I’ve even reset the controller which made no difference.To make matters worse, if I try to do the update on my mobile device, it says there was a problem checking for updates and to try again.It would be very helpful if the error messages were more meaningful and accurate.

Hi,  I have an Arc Ultra connected via HDMI Earc.  Whenever I am watching Saturday Night Live, when the live act plays their two songs during the show, the vocals come through much louder than the musical sections of the song.  It’s like the Vocals are turned up and the Musical Instruments (especially the bass) are turned more than halfway down.  I also noticed this issue during the Live Halftime musical performance of the Super Bowl.  Any ideas? Also, I noticed that Sonos much have fixed the problem where some of the ads volumes were much higher than the volume of the show.  This was super annoying. 

Maybe I’m imagining this but fairly recently, possibly since the new app, the fade in on the alarm doesn’t always work.  Some (most) days the music fades up and isn’t too much of a shock in the mornings, but on other days it comes straight on at full volume.  I wondered if this could be something to do with the fade in starting at the point of the alarm triggering, rather than when the music starts - so if the music takes a while to cache the fade has finished by the time it starts playing?   Just wondered if this is a new bug or just me!

I am struggling to set up an older S1 system. I have a 1x Beam (Gen1) and 4x Sonos Play - and am using the Sonos S1 app.When I open the Sonos S1 app on my phone I can add the Beam (and it is all working). However, if I then go to Add Product - I am getting a message on ‘Sonos app needs updating’, which then takes me to the app store and forces me to download the most recent Sonos app. However, when I go into the most recent Sonos app - it tells me it can find the Sonos systems on the network, but when I hit join it then tells me it is only compatable with the S1 controller (which I already knew) and takes me back to the start screen again. And so I appear in a loop? I also don’t appear to be able to update any of the products. Again - they tell me the app needs updating. The same happens when I run a system compatibility check. It tries to force me onto the latest app which it doesn’t appear to likeEverything is wired directly to the router, so that can’t be the issue… Any thoughts?

I have the sonos outdoor speakers but it’s not being detected by the Sonos Amp. Any suggestions on what to do? I purposely bought these speakers because of that feature.  

I have a Sony AF8 (ARC not eARC) OLED TV, Sky Q and a Sonos Arc Ultra. The setup works flawlessly and plays Dolby 5.1 and Atmos from all TV apps and streaming apps on the Sky Q box. However, when playing Sky channels either live or recorded, the sound frequently does not play when switching to a new channel when the Sky box is set to either DD or DD+. If I quickly flick to the next channel and back again a couple of times it might start working, or if I go into the Sky settings and flick back to Normal (PCM) and then back to DD or DD+ it sometimes works. i have been onto each of Sonos, Sky and Sonos and each one claims it is not their problem and to check with the others! I am beginning to think that I have spent £900 on a white elephant that only works when it feels like it. I am beyond frustrated with this. The retailer (John Lewis) is not interested and Sonos support have been of no use either, so hoping someone on the community can restore my faith in Sonos equipment   i also have

I use my Sonos speakers in the main floor of my house almost all day every day.  The speakers are ungrouped and I have one in my kitchen, one in the living room (doubles as the TV soundbar), and one in my office.  I am constantly moving the volume of each room up and down based on the current activities in the house.  I would like to be able to set and save volume profiles across all speakers.Example: During the day while I am working from home, the music is louder in the kitchen and living room and quieter in the office while I’m on calls.Feature Ask:While speaker volumes are set at Kitchen = 10 Living Room = 15 Office = 6, I want to save this as “Work day” so the next time I want this configuration I can immediately recreate it. Use cases for this are plentiful, but by way of example I would create volume profiles for other things like “Cooking” or “Party Time” or “Game on TV” where I would want different volume levels in each room.For additional consideration: This would also be a g

Sonos is playing tracks not in my queue. I’ll select one track and select repeat, but a completely different track will play when that track ends, one that I did not add to the queue. 

Hi there I have a Sonos beam and I would like to buy a projector. I will use it to watch movie. Could you confirm that I will be able to plug my hdmi cable between my projector and my laptop and at the same time cast the sound from my laptop to my beam through Bluetooth?I am asking because last time I tried I had a few seconds lag. But it was a very old projector. thank you in advance for your answers. martin

I have a pair of Play:1 speakers I bought several years ago but never connected. Now, in a new house, I want to use them.  However, I cannot get them to connect. I have tried “everything:” wirelessly, wired, after resets, the whole thing.  Why? Who have I pissed off in the “-verse” so much that they’re messing with me? (obvious sarcasm here)Anybody with a suggestion, please and thanks?   

Saavn Pro not working with Sonos service on PC app or iPhone apps.

Hey there. I use Deezer as my music provider on my Sonos setup. Everything seems to be working properly, e.g. I can listen to particular songs, albums, playlists, etc.My issue is that when I start s station from a particular song, I can see in the app that it tries to play songs but ends up skipping most of them. The weird thing is that if I start a station from an artist, all works well. Anyone experiencing a similar issue?

My office wifi has recently been changed and the security put in place will not allow me to use my sonos on the network.  (UPnP disabled/Multicast disabled).  My IT guy told me that the only way to use it in the office is with bluetooth. When I press the bluetooth button on the back of the speaker it doesn’t make a chime sound it makes a short “blip” sound and never starts flashing blue. I have unplugged, reset, done all of that but nothing is working.  I set it up on the wifi network even though my app and speaker can’t talk to each other.  I don’t know what else to do, any insights?

I have recently added a Sonos Port to my Sonos system, working well.A small observation, after I have turned the turntable OFF with “Line Level Output” connected directly to Port, I still see a continuous network stream on my WiFi from Port to Sonos Speakers, looking on the Sonos App I see the animated graphic equaliser icon next to the line-in in Sonos App.To stop this network stream, I click ‘Stop’ in Sonos App. Is this normal behaviour for the Port, or is it not ‘auto-detecting’ the line-in state correctly?

I know that I can connect my Sonos app to my media library on my NAS, and I know that I can connect it to a Plex server- but I don’t use or like Plex - but why can’t the app writers allow me to link to my existing non-Plex servers? My media servers on my NAS automatically update the content if there are changes and I’ve only just found that the Sonos app has be updated manually (and then it has to scan through thousands of tracks). So why go through all that when my media servers have updated already??

So i am having an issue. The Play:1 speakers that i have had since Sonos first came out are not recognized on the new Mac Mini M4. I can see them with all my other speakers on the iphone app. I can see them on the desktop app as well.But when I go to play something from the web like F1TV they do not show up in the SOUND Menu in the System Settings menu. Looking for a solution if anyone has some.ThanksMark
