Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Since I changed my internet provider, my Sonos 5 won't play unless connected with an Ethernet cable. My modem is far from where I want to place the speaker. What can I do?

Sonos frames this as “purism,” but it actually blocks creative intent and creates inconsistency: Artists’ intent is restricted. If a stereo track is designed to fill the room, Sonos prevents rears from engaging. Other brands allow “All Channel Stereo.” Inconsistent behaviour. The Arc mirrors stereo to surrounds in music mode (AirPlay, Spotify Connect), but forbids it over HDMI. There is no technical or licensing reason — simple channel duplication costs nothing. Purism becomes interference. By enforcing silence in rears, Sonos isn’t respecting the mix, it’s imposing a design choice that neither creators nor customers asked for. I have a Sonos Beam Gen 1 speaker and play music through it from my Sonos 1 app. Recently a favourite station of mine (TMM 1) from TuneIn only plays the advert but then not the music. I cann play the same station from TuneIn through my UE Boom speaker. Any thoughts?

Hi guys. I have just purchased my Sonos Move 2.Im going to set the Trueplay up later when my daughter arrives home, as she has an iPhone whereas I'm Android.If I choose a room, say sitting room, do the Trueplay calibration and save. I then move to the kitchen, opt for kitchen on the list of rooms, do the Trueplay calibration in the kitchen and save, when I next use it and choose kitchen on the Sonos, will it automatically use the Trueplay settings for that room that were originally saved?

I've been using Sonos for a couple of years and I love it, but for the past week, I've been facing a problem I just can't solve.My setup: 1 Sonos Beam (Gen 2) connected to the TV 2 Sonos One SL as rear speakers Router: TP-Link Archer C7 My phone: Samsung Galaxy S22 with the latest version of Android The problem:The Sonos app on my Android phone suddenly can't find any of my speakers. It shows the message "Unable to connect to Sonos." The strange thing is that if a friend comes over, their iPhone connects without any problems and can control the entire system. The music continues playing if started from their phone, but I can't do anything from mine.What I've already tried, with no success: Restarting the router and waiting 5 minutes Unplugging and replugging all Sonos speakers Uninstalling and reinstalling the Sonos app on my Android phone Clearing the app’s cache and data

Hi. Can you guys recommend sturdy wall mounts that physically grab the speakers firmly as the ones I bought for my four Play1’s and they came dangerously loose within weeks in fact one fell and was saved by the mains cable. Problem is they rely on the bolt hole in the speaker that seems to be made from cheese. My brackets don’t have any branding on but will try and upload a pic just in case anyone else is tempted to follow my foolish act. Sorry the image won’t upload 

This has got to be one of the sickest jokes ever.. One year after the dreadful Sonos update, I noticed that I could finally edit and create new sonos playlists again. However after editing some of my old playlists, and creating a few new ones I now receive an error when opening these playlists saying that "the content is not available". This doesn't make any sense; some of the lists I just created, so the music is obviously still available. I have no problems with my WiFi, my system is up-to-date, and there doesn't seem to be a glitch either as I still can't access the playlists after closing/opening the sonos app multiple times. So everything signs to the sonos app still not working as it should be.Is anyone else experiencing smth similar? Right now creating playlists feels like playing Russian roulette; you could spend hours creating them, and who knows if you can still access them seconds later..  

I know this is a long shot, but is there any chance that Sonos could develop a simple app for WearOS? It wouldn’t even have to be full featured: simple play/pause/ffwd/rew controls would be great.We had a simulacrum of this with the old Sonos app, which correctly registered as a media player with Android so it could be controlled from the notification shade and the lockscreen, which meant it could also be controlled by the watch, but this has been gone ever since the new app came out.  

I am in need of help setting up an undercover patio speakers and tv. My home is being built right now and now is the time to run the wires. If I am understand correctly, I can order an AMP and Outdoor Speaker set. Wire the speakers to the AMP and store the AMP inside while the speakers are attached to the outside of my home. Then I want to connect a BEAM and hardwire it to the TV and also connect it wirelessly to the AMP. Will this work as I described and work seamlessly with the TV audio?Do I need to order specific outdoor speakers? I was sold a pair of 300 but I don’t believe these to be correct now. I am planning to use a Sylvox Outdoor TV. Will the BEAM be ok undercover outside? No rain will be able to get to it but there could be dust as the home is being built on 7 acres. Thanks for any help and guidance.  I have included an image as to how I think it works.   Sorry I advance as this is all new to me.  Any specific products you recommend I would appreciate links to order directly

The Sonos website says that Play:3 is compatible with S2 or S1. Several posts in this forum indicate that Play:3 can connect via S2 app. I’m trying to move Play:3 from the S1 app to the S2 app - unsuccessfully. This is what I’ve done so far.S1 app doesn’t have a “forget this system” choice, so I quit the app, and rebooted my Android Galaxy S21 with latest OS. Factory reset Play:3 (lights only ever flash white then go to solid white)Play:3 was also plugged in via Ethernet cable.Started S2 app.Chose Forget this system (I have a sound bar hooked up through S2)Add components.S2 recognizes both sound bar and Play:3Choose Play:3 to connectError message “This component is only compatible with S1 controller:”Sound bar connects fine.  Any ideas? Hello! I feel like my sound system lacks of bass. Is it only me or anyone else that what a bigger sub by Sonos? like a 12inc?

I’ve upgrade my IPad Pro M4 to latest iPadOS 26. When trying to stream music from YouTube to Sonos system via AirPlay/Blutooth, it  get the message “Something went wrong. Tap to retry”. Tap but still doesn’t work. But if I switch back to iPad speaker, works just fine.

I've been experiencing issues for the past few days—possibly since the update that rolled out yesterday. On my iOS device (iOS 18.7), I’m currently unable to enable or disable Trueplay. My setup includes a Beam Gen2, two Era 100s, and a Sub Mini (firmware 80.29.4).When I reboot the Beam Gen2, the Trueplay toggle briefly reappears in the app.However, as soon as I interact with it, the toggle vanishes again.It’s quite odd. Do I need to reset my entire system, or is something else going on?

Hi Community,First time posting on this community but I’m a long suffering Sonos customer!  In the “good old days” if my memory serves me correctly, a “group” was called a “zone”. When we wanted to play the same audio source simultaneously on different zones, the app just copied the source to the various zones but control was independent i.e. you could pause a specific zone or change the volume of the zone and it didn’t impact the rest of the speakers. Now the current iteration is by a far a great improvement in so much as “party mode” (as think it used to be called) is true everywhere play controls house is in sync.  What I am missing however is, what if I want to control a group as part of “everywhere”. For example, “upstairs”, “downstairs” & “garden” each have 3 speakers in them in various rooms. I want to turn “garden” up but leave the rest unchanged - I have to change all three individually within the “playing now” control for “everywhere” - OR because the “garden” group exist

Hi. I have a beam and sub in the lounge and era100s in the kitchen and bedroom.The bedroom alarm works brilliantly giving music at the right time every morning. However using the era100 to go to sleep can be a problem. I have developed a long Spotify playlist with my Wife's favourite sleepy tunes and I will use my phone app to start this with a 30 min timer. Often the app says it cannot play the playlist and says something has gone wrong. Last night I managed to get the lounge beam to play the playlist and then I added the bedroom and cancelled the beam. However I could not alter the volume on the bedroom speaker or set a timer. I had to manually reduce the volume using the finger slider and then ask Alexa to set a timer.Do you have any suggestions as to why this era100 is unreliable. The kitchen era works well though I am not using it as a sleep assistant!

​@Corry P  hey, thanks for your help. I’ve updated my router today. I’ve only just managed to get it working. It was a bit complicated (well for me 😂🙈) but I can’t believe how quickly the products connect to it. It makes me think I should have maybe spent a bit more on the router ! I ended up going for the TP-LINK AX53 based on its price range (£59.99) and also its reviews on Amazon. yes I know it’s only been on for an hour but I thought I’d best get on here and say thanks. yes this is all in one post. Yes I will update everyone all in one post within the next month to let everyone know how right they were. thanks again … Archer BE3600 Router WiFi 7 BE3600Mbps might actually get that for the extra tenner as it’s got the usb on it for the hive and its WiFi 7

Thanks again to the awesome engineers who have ruined SiriusXm playback because of a new cloud service error. This company’s engineers are useless and I have no idea how things get worse and worse but they do. Add it to the Apple Music problem that has been going to for over 2 years.  So maybe by 2030 all this will get sorted out.
