new Sonos Play won't play music from NAS Share

My 5 Sonos speakers all play music from my network share except my new Sonos Play.

My new speaker will play music from Spotify without problems.

Any ideas, regards Adam

Fixed it by changing library path to IP address.

Have you rebooted (NOT Reset) the Play?

Is your Play part of the same household as the other speakers?

If it is, what happens when you play something on another Sonos and Group the Play with it?

What error does the Play show?

My Play is working perfectly.

Which version of the Sonos controller are you using? Which version of SMB is your NAS running?

I have rebooted & reset the Sonos Play without any success.

It is part of the same household as my other speakers.

It does work correct if I group it with another Sonos speaker, but as soon as I ungroup it the music stops &I get an error message "unable to play #track name. try again"

Very odd. Do you have any access restrictions on your nas?

Is tne Play connected to tne same Wi-Fi as your other Sonos?

Do you have Ethernet connected to any Sonos?

A diagnostic and call to support might be in order, they can see things we users must guess at.

I purchased an ERA 300 a while back that had the exact same problem where it refused to play from my local library.  Even changing the path to IP Address did nothing to resolve the issue.  I sent it back.

The only thing I thought I could try is unplug all the other Sonos devices to hopefully force the ERA 300 to be the Associated Product ( the speaker that takes the index ).  Not sure that would have worked.

There was discussion here not long ago where someone else needed to use the IP address or Era devices wouldn’t find their music library. Something changed in the name discovery the new devices were using. But I thought that was addressed in a recent system update. I can’t locate that discussion now.

Edit: I just saw your Play does have the latest system firmware. So, @Aingham, I would start a support ticket so it can be looked into.
