Note, this is not a real device, and not an announcement from Sonos.

Why no center front channel?

Bo centralny obsługuje Sonos Arc Ultra

Airgetlam

Translation:

Because the centre supports Sonos Arc Ultra

But the Arc Ultra (and any Sonos device, be it a soundbar to not) has no capability to be a ‘center’ only speaker.

Translation:

Jednak Arc Ultra (podobnie jak każde urządzenie Sonos – niezależnie od tego, czy jest to soundbar, czy nie) nie posiada możliwości pełnienia funkcji głośnika wyłącznie centralnego.

To nie jest problem aby zrobić to oprogramowaniem tak jak dodawanie głośników surround czy górnych Atmos

Translation from Polish

It's not a problem to do it with software like adding surround speakers or upper Atmos

Wszyscy czekają aby mogli dodać głośniki Atmos i surround back a jak by jeszcze doszły fronty to było by super.Ale pytanie czy Sonos chce być na tyle innowacyjny i jedyny na rynku bo konkurencja nie śpi .

Translation from Polish:

Everyone is waiting to be able to add Atmos and surround back speakers and if the fronts still come, it would be great. But the question is whether Sonos wants to be so innovative and the only one on the market because the competition does not sleep.

The question is "does Sonos want to get into homecinema amplifiers at all". I personally don't think so, but you can always hope.

Tu rozchodzi się o możliwości zasilania Sonosa Amp do zastosowania w Kinie domowym, który jest podłączony do serii soundbarów, nie tylko o  same głośniki surround jak obecnie , ale o możliwości dodania większej ilości dodatkowych głośników, jak : głównych, Atmos , surround back gdzie bezpośrednio będzie to miało wpływ na efekty i jakość w obecnym ekosystemie.

Google Translate-

This is about the possibility of powering the Sonos Amp for use in a Home Cinema that is connected to a series of soundbars, not only the surround speakers themselves as currently, but the possibility of adding more additional speakers, such as: main, Atmos, surround back, where this will directly impact the effects and quality in the current ecosystem.

Google translate:

This can be done with the current Sonos Amp by adding an upgrade. I'd probably buy three or four of these Sonos amplifiers to add surround, surround back, and high-fidelity speakers to my Sonos Arc Ultra with Sub4. This would be able to replace the home theater receivers, and we could have a single ecosystem, like Sonos. It's not currently capable of becoming my main living room system, as virtual speakers won't replace real speakers.

I still don't think Sonos is about this. Too many (non- Sonos) speakers, too complex for a normal Sonos user.

@Aron79 You could use Google translate to translate your posts to English yourself. This will alleviate the burden for others in this discussion. This is, after all, an English language community.

Dla tego brak możliwości rozbudowy kina skreśla na razie Sonos jako docelowy system kina domowego.Konkurencja już oferuje więcej . Jeśli znowu Sonos nie będzie słuchać społeczności to będzie tylko gorzej.

Therefore, the lack of expandability eliminates Sonos as a target home theater system for now. The competition already offers more. If Sonos again ignores the community, things will only get worse.

Sonos has discussed in great detail, both here and on reddit, about the possibility of adding more than a single pair of speakers as surrounds (specifically front L/R) to a soundbar.  The functionality has even made it to the public in a Beta test, and the unsupported Sonosquencr app.  In summary, the function was found to be not ready for prime time, due to several issues, including bandwidth and proximity of the speakers to other WiFi sources.

I imagine until those issues are solved by Sonos engineers and/or future WiFi advances (the CEO did say they were close), the wishing and hoping for more advanced wireless Home Theater systems is just that; wishing and hoping.

Mnie by już w pełni usatysfakcjonowało dodanie oprócz surround jeszcze górnych Atmos i surround back aby poszerzyć wrażenia aby były bardziej namacalne.

An Arc Ultra with Era 300 surrounds already has Atmos and surround back.  In fact, the Atmos comes from both the front and the back.

Bottom line, the current state of wireless isn’t sufficient to reliably carry the extra channels required for more than a sub and 2 Atmos surrounds, and only Sonos has access to the test/Beta data, so any predictions we have on what it may take to allow a Sonos system to add these extra channels wirelessly is pure speculation.
