Controllers and Music services

Unable to import all my previous iTunes playlists into Sonos Imported Playlist. I have read a great deal about how to do this, so please do not direct me to this information, I need info of what to do when it does not work.  I have imported some playlist from My Music Library location but are missing some playlists. I have also in Apple Music exported Playlists to a .m3u file then directed Sonos to that file in Sonos’s Controller on my Apple Mac not forgetting to Update the Music Library. Nothing works in that I do not see all the playlists that I see in Apple Music. I have restarted the Sonos app and the MAC computer, still no joy. Any further relevent help would be much appreciated. Playing through an original Connect to my standalone stereo system. While playing a playlist or favorited album, about 10 seconds into a track, playback stops, there is an error that the *next* track can't be played because connection to Spotify was lost, and playback resumes with the one following that. If I tap on the first track in this sequence of three, it resumes playing flawlessly. This never happens with the first song in the queue. Since the third track in the sequence always plays fine, or the first one if I select it, this seems to rule out a legitimate network or wifi error?

Having made the reluctant move from Google Play Music to Youtube Music, I have found the Sonos search results for YTM quite poor.   The search results for GPM included your library. For me, this result was much more useful than the general search result (which often includes loads of singles and remixes that I’ve no interest in). For YTM is does not seem to search my library.   Even if I browse the YTM service and look directly at my library, the album list is both incomplete and in an unhelpful order (the order that I added them to YTM).   Are there any settings that I’m missing that’ll make YTM search more usable in the Sonos App?

Can anybody support help me with Spotify playback issues? Since the S2 update it has generally been ok, but today I’m experience tracks randomly skipping shortly after playback, and some skip completely and never attempt to play. Playback initiated via the Sonos S2 app. 

This station can no longer be played on Sonos via Tunein or Sonos Radio. Why?

I have listened to Swiss Jazz on Sonos for many years. In the last week or so the station does not connect, the play symbol returning to stop after a second or two. Other stations are fine. Has Swiss Jazz been removed from Sonos? If not, any suggestions? Yes I have tried switching off the router and Sonos.

When trying to play SiriusXM on my Play 1 using the SONOS app I get a message that there are no selections available. I have used this streaming service in the past with no problem. I deleted and reinstalled the service, powered down and restarted the speakers, router and all devices without success. I have the same problem with all devices (Windows PC, iPhone, iPad). All other streaming services work fine. I can stream Sirius XM using their app so I know that the account is OK. Any other suggestions?

Hi! I am having issues playing Spotify on my 5.1 Setup with the Beam. I have tried both from the Spotify app as well as the Sonos app. Inside the Sonos app, I get the message “Connection to Spotify was Lost”. Spotify plays normally on my other speakers, stereo set of Ones and the Move. If I group the 5.1 setup with one of those other speakers, it plays normally. Other music apps like Pandora and Soundcloud work as expected. I have tried rebooting the Beam setup, router, and modem as well as removing/adding Spotify in the Sonos app. Thank you in advance for any help!

Tried using Sonos with Golden Master of Catalina and its a no go. When I add my music library on an external drive it does so normally but NO songs in the folder are recognized. Wonder if it has to do with Music being the new app for music instead of iTunes?I was able to see music added if it was on the internal drive of the machine.

Hi there, I’ve just purchased a Subsonic subscription after checking that Sonos is supported by Subsonic and that Subsonic appears in the list of available services for my Sonos. Subsonic appears to have correctly indexed my music library but I seem to be having a problem linking to my Subsonic account from Sonos - I am definitely entering the correct user details - but can’t see why it is not working. I’m going to log this on the Subsonic help system as well as I’m not sure if it Sonos not sending the account details correctly or Subsonic not accepting them correctly. So, I've searched this forum and have found a number of people touch on it but never answered definitively: does everyone's Spotify Connect "forget" it's playing through Sonos and lose you controls on your lock screen? Frequently I'll connect to my speakers via Spotify Connect and start playing some music. I can use my device to control playback (pause, skip track) for at least a couple of songs, but if leave it unattended for 10+ minutes, the control goes away (Spotify usually still shows on the lock screen). When I try to hit the "next track" button the connection to my speakers is lost, immediately stops playing on Sonos, and starts playing Spotify on the local device. I have an Android phone (Pixel 3XL) and an iPad Mini 4 and the issues seems to occur on both, regardless of platform. My living room Play:5s are both connected via ethernet to my router/modem and the app shows on I'm Sonosnet (WM:0) for all speakers in the apartment. Airplay controls seems to b

Since the HDMI port is meant to receive audio from the TV, would it not receive audio from the Google Chromecast dongle so I can play to that dongle to get Chromecast audio?   If someone has those two pieces, I would be very interested to know if it works.

BorrowBox is used by the majority of UK libraries, it would be great to have the service available on Sonos. I can see Audible, Libby, Audiobook & Bookmate. Any plans to add BorrowBox????

I’ve recently added Spotify to my Sonos controller, but my Spotify library playlist does not appear.  I’ve removed and readded the Spotify service and also updated my music library index, but no joy.  Thank you.

Hello.   We have a Sonos system here at my work. I am attempting to reconfigure the whole system with the Sonos Boost, which was successful. I have now placed the speakers back to their original spots. I have linked the spotify account with the sonos app successfully, but when I attempt to play a song, i get an error message “ Unable to play "song title" - the spotify account login information is invalid” I have also tried linking my own spotify account, with the same issue.   I do notice that when the spotify is not linked, the sonos speakers are still active on the spotify connect, although can’t connect to it either way.   Sound cloud does work fine aswell, just spotify that is not working.   Any ideas?

Can I listen to Facebook live concerts on my Sonos speakers on a Mac system?

Whenever I try to connect my sonos to my nas I get an error saying “Sonos was unable to add the music folder Please check that the path to the folder, and the username and password if needed, are correct. Reason: Access to the shared folder “\\FREENAS\HP_Pool_1” is denied.” I am running FreeNas 11.3 and I can guarantee that I am putting the username and password in correct. 

Sorry to ask again this often repeated inquiry.  How many playlists can I add to my Sonos? As I understand it, there are at least three questions here: How many Sonos Playlists can I create? How many playlists can I import from iTunes, now that I have figured out how to import them? How many playlists can I import (or is it access) from Amazon Unlimited streaming? I am figuring that these answers also depend on the contents - number of tracks - in the playlists. but I am unclear whether this count, or even the number of playlists makes a difference for the iTunes of Amazon playlists. I appreciate any information here. Thanks very much. John K.    

I went through the performance of using tunein to play Virgin Radio “Uk”, then started having the issue of having to play another station first, before it would then accept the virgin radio uk service. The same phaph is still required, however now it defaults to Virgin Radio groove, even if asking for Virgin Radio UK. Anybody else experiencing this and found any resolutions?

It seems like One only supports certain services.  I have MP3 recordings of accompaniment I want to sing with.  How do I do that with Sonos One?

On monday 5/11 my Sonos controller was working fine, I rebooted my pc and now it will not connect to the lirary. It says it does then goes to “Sorry we cant connect to Sonos” display. Being that it is Friday 5/15 I narrowed it down to sonoslibraryservice service not starting. Not sure why and was wondering if anyone has any ideas? Thanks for helping. Recently started experiencing issues with connecting to iTunes. I am able to ‘search’ Sonos and play music from the Sonons app however when I hit: Browse > Apple Music > My music - “We’ve run into a problem. Try again.” comes up. I have reset my Sonos, iTunes and could use some help. Any ideas on how tor resolve this?

This week I have had problems connecting to CNBC on my SONOS system via Tunein.  The CNBC stream will start as expected then drop off after about two minutes.  The Tunein CNBC stream works fine on other devices on the same WIFI.  It appears that the problem is with SONOS.    Is anyone having a similar problem.     Scott   Update:  The CNN Station failed after five minutes.  Now I assume its not just CNBC.

how to disable screensaver? 

I have two Sonos products a Play:5 (gen1) and a Play:1. They are connected to a Netgear Orbi mesh network over wifi. The satellites for this network are wired. I’m controlling from a Samsung galaxy s9+ and a PC (Windows 10)   I repeatedly get the “Connection to Spotify was lost message” when using. Songs will sometimes play, but eventually, the error occurs.   Troubleshooting steps undertaken so far. Checked for wireless interference. The channel is fixed by the router to channel 11 and this is clear of any other networks (checked with a wifi scanner app). On occasion other networks appear in this range, but their signal is weak compared to mine. Fixed the IP addresses of both Sonos devices on the router. In testing, I’ve put both the devices in the same room as one of the wifi satellites and checked they are both connected to this wifi via the router. I have removed the connectivity between Sonos and Spotify on both
